a must stop if you are in the area.  HUGE shrimp raised on farms just behind the truck covered in a gooey yummy creamy garlic sauce with rice and salad of course...all for $9!

Although the concept of a food truck that doesn't move was odd to me.  The shrimp was quite good.  I'll be back my next visit to the island!

My g/f and I ate here last Saturday while staying at Turtle Bay.  We both got garlic shrimp, which was more of a scampi then a bunch of shrimp.  The food was good, but it took a while for it to come out.  Would I eat here again, maybe, or I might just buy some shrimp and cook it myself if we come back and rent a house.

I bought the spicy garlic. then i went to Giovanni's and ordered their original. When I compared them I thought Camoran's shrimp was cooked better and juicier. The spicy was quite spicy even when I asked for medium. So be careful.

The crowd goes to Giovanni's but this place is much better with no lines.

The Camaron Kuhuku Shrimp truck is super yummy. My husband and I stopped at Giovanni's on our way to the North Shore and on our way back wanted to try a different place. We tried Camaron on a whim and were so happy with our decision. We split the garlic and spicy plate-- the shrimp were butterflied and deveined, in a thick savory sauce-- not the red hot sauce that you find at aome of the other trucks. The shrimp were accompanied by corn and a green salad.   A great deal!

Camaron's gets the 5-star nod for its daily special -- $9.95 garlic shrimp.

While I absolutely love butter and garlic shrimp which is available at many places, Camaron's special is a light cream sauce that is heavy on the garlic.  This is quite unique and stands apart from what other trucks are offering for upwards of over $12.

The service is friendly, the food is hot and fresh, and the prices are right.  If you are headed up to the North Shore for the afternoon, fuel up with a great lunch from Camaron's.  The special was served on a bed of rice with enough of that great sauce and garlic to stir into the rice.  A small side salad and a side of yellow corn rounded out the dish.  Not to big, not too small -- just about right for lunch.

A word to those of you new to any of the North Shore shrimp trucks..... the shrimp is served with the shell on.  I have learned that keeping the shell on helps the shrimp to not dry out when cooking over high temperatures.  That can mean a little bit of work on your part -- and it will be a little messy.  Not to worry -- the mess is worth it -- just be sure to get a few extra napkin.

So as you head up to Sunset Beach to catch that perfect wave, drop in to Camaron's shrimp truck and catch the perfect garlic shrimp special.  Yum!

    Happy Exploring!

I had the garlic shrimp and was quite tasty. The plate comes with salad, two scoop rice, toss salad, pineapple, corn and green beans - which was quite a bit of food. Grab some extra napkins as the shrimp can get messy (unpeeled). I found out later from a friend, that is the way kahuku shrimp is served...

....  what's all the hype with the shrimp trucks?  We tried a couple varieties... but really... I'm not so sure the shrimp live up to the hype.  Wasn't so impressed.  The juice trucks are nice...

    Suggestion:
-- If you must and you are in a bind, grab a couple orders with some friends, or grab an order for yourself and get it go to.  Drive to the nearest beach area (like North Shore's Waimea Bay), and eat it with the awesome view
-- If you can do spicy, always go for spicy or garlic.  Plain isn't so good.
-- Don't order the chips, they are very very old and stale

Camaron's shrimp truck is awesome!! My boyfriend and I were driving back to Kahuku from Makapu'u and we were starving and it was the only shrimp truck wasn't totally packed for the holiday weekend. Basic shrimp truck menu, with a selection of garlic shrimp, spicy garlic shrimp, garlic butter shrimp, etc. We both had the garlic shrimp and it didn't take long at all for our food to be ready, usually it takes about 15 minutes at other shrimp trucks.

The sauce with the shrimp was excellent, not too much garlic which is good for me, and not overpowering with too much butter. It was also perfectly portioned, at other shrimp trucks they'll give too much rice with not enough shrimp or vice versa, and I can never finish a whole plate by myself. But Camaron's has perfected the ratio of rice, shrimp, and sauce, I don't think any customer would be disappointed.

Camaron's shrimp truck has great food with great service, and I know I'll definitely be back there again soon. So whether you're a local just looking for some good grinds or a mainlander looking to try some local shrimp, Camaron's is definitely worth a try!
