This is my go-to coffee places when I am on my way into work and didn't have time to stop anywhere else on my way in.
Conveniently located on the corner of Colfax and Potomac, Caribou Coffee is where it's at for those mornings you just need a little extra "kick". It is pretty standard across the board with the service and the coffee is always made just right. I recently ordered some mocha drink at the suggestion of the barista, and was surprised when they added real chocolate into it.
They do have a parking lot, which can seem misleading if you are unfamiliar with this location. It is behind the complex on the east side, with lots of parking. Seems pretty obvious, but I was going to meet a friend there for coffee one morning, and she didn't know where the parking lot even was... Lots of good parking and conveniently located next to Chipotle and Noodles!
Reiterating some of these comments, Caribou stands out based on quality of service and the product itself. The location is very close to the medical campus so this is a strong selling point as well. I ordered a French press pot of French roast that was bang on the money. Bold without tasting bitter. They've hired staff that fits their specific culture (they're very nice). Near closing time, they'll hand out unsold "samples" to remaining customers, all fresh and hot. I think it's the type of environment that screams student and fits this specific niche. Noise level is just right for ambient noise or relaxed conversation.
Review Source:Caribou Coffee is my favorite chain/franchise coffee shop. Â Like the previous reviewer, I'd much rather patronize a locally owned place. Â But they're few and far between, at least in the parts of town that I frequent.
Like all franchise operations, the only difference between one and another is the staff and quality of service. Â This one shines!! Â And the pastries are much fresher and tastier than you'll ever find at a Starbucks. Â They serve sandwiches that look pretty good, but I've never tried one.
Taste of the Twin Cities here in Denver? yes.
Would I support a locally-owned coffee shop if possible? yes.
However- the staff at this location was refreshingly helpful while not lacking their own personalities= something usually lacking in corporate coffee shops.
Easy to use Wi-Fi (meaning no crazy log in pages ) is also a plus.
I had a great business meeting at this location yesterday -- parking and traffic aside- I really enjoyed my stop this Caribou location.
Like most other Caribous, which is a good thing. Â
All the drinks are standardized and the same from store to store; what makes one Caribou shine over another is typically service. Â This store offers good service; friendly, attentive baristas who deliver great coffee quickly. Â The store has three comfy chairs, a fireplace, a large picnic table and many other tables at which a person can camp out and do their work, read or socialize. Â Lots of regulars, cops and all around good people.
This location is a bit out of my way but when I'm in the area, I always pop in. Â You should too.
As far as chain coffee shops go, I'm a fan of Caribou. Â I also dig that it's really close by the Anschutz Medical Campus!
If you need a cup of coffee, this is a great spot to pop in to. Â Friendly staff, clean store, plenty of seating to sit back and chat with a friend. Â Oh, and I can't forget all of the deliciousness in the pastry cases. Â Yum!
I'm not sure you'd want to stop here for a proper lunch, but if you just need a warm beverage and a quick snack, Caribou certainly won't disappoint.
Drink up, my friends!
