My friends and I love to dance, drink a lot and tip big. Â When the Cave initially opened we had our hesitations due to the behemoth nature of The Oread and the perceived notion that the club was solely for lovers of BroStep.
We should've stuck to our intuitive warnings. Â EVERY staff member we encountered was rude and crass. Â The club was virtually empty but we still ordered drinks, shots and danced a bit on an empty dance floor.
After being subjected to curt service at the bar we decided to leave for the evening. Â As we left the door guys began muttering homosexual slurs in our direction. Â My friends are not ones to shyly let such things slide and when we stopped in our tracks, turned on our heels and asked them to repeat themselves... Some asshole punk door man says "You fags don't belong here!" Â I'LL SAY!
Being a modern nightclub directly off the KU campus the owners of The Cave should consider giving their staff some sensitivity training. Â If you want your club to thrive and survive then you must embrace the gays! Â We bring the hot chicks and start the dance party!!
Shame on you, The Cave, for employing dirtbags and not discouraging such horrid behavior.
Good for a fun night out with friends, but it takes a while to pick up here... plus, no offense to the DJ, but seriously? Talking a bunch in between songs kills the mood. Weird picks in dance music with tons of repeats, but maybe its just cause I'm used to DJs in cali. Or maybe I can't dance any more... haha.
If you don't want to travel to KC and you have fun people to go to, I'd still consider dropping by here. Definitely try it once, just don't expect it to be the classiest place with amazing music.
