Yes, this place has a great location - right next to the bike trail. However, when I was there on a Wednesday night - it took forever to get our food (a good 30-35 minutes!). We sat outside, since the Bruins game was going on inside so the bar area was quite packed and loud. The place seemed under-staffed, since many of the waitresses who served our table and others near us, were also serving the bar area tables. This would explain why our food was not hot when it arrived at our table. The calzone I had was kinda greasy, and was only decent. We seemed to have 5 waitresses, rather than 1 or even 2. I was not impressed.
Review Source:Just wanted to provide an update to indicate that although the pizza delivered was very unpleasant, my experience hanging out AT the Brickhouse is a completely different experience.
The Good
I frequent this hangout a couple times a month and enjoy the time I spend here with my friends. No hassles and plenty of TVs around the room to watch your favorite sporting event. The menu is basic bar food, nothing too fancy, but I do enjoy their wings and the variety of sauces to choose from.
When the weather gets warmer, the outside seating is a nice place to be. Get there early for lunch if you want to get a table outside or just wait until the lunch rush is over.
They have keno there, which is a nice perk. I like to dabble in a little gambling while I drop back a draft.
The room decor is nice... lots of cool sports memorabilia around.
If you are there late (after 11pm), they graciously put cheese pizza for your snacking pleasure.
The Not So Good
The seating area inside is a bit small, but manageable. The wait to be greeted or served can sometimes be longer than one would like. The bathrooms are unisex and nothing fancy... it gets the job done... one on the main level and one upstairs. Parking can be challenging during busier times, so be prepared.
Overall, good place to hang out in the evenings with friends for a few drinks and watch sporting events.
I had to update my review - 3 stars wasn't doing Brickhouse justice anymore. At least one of my co-workers orders from here every day - we have a guy who spends almost all his time at work, and Brickhouse is his delivery of choice. All the food is good - all of it! Salads, subs, calzones, dinner plates - so. good. Huge fan!! Shout out to Brickhouse from the Best Western staff!
Review Source:Been coming here regularly and am a definite fan. Â Service is OK, not awesome, and I've never had delivery, but I have never, ever had a bad meal. Â Some of the other folks complained about the sweet sauce. Â I love it. Â So it's a good thing you're reading Yelp. Â If you like sweet sauce, you'll love Brickhouse's. Â Love the double dough pizza too. Â Breakfast was very good the one time I went. Â Again, not absolutely to die for awesome, but still very good. Â I love how the place is right on the bike trail. Â Now, if only the service would improve a bit, we can get to five stars. Â Hope this review helps.
Review Source:Avoid this place for breakfast unless you have lots of time on your hands. I waited 7 minutes for a menu which is a long time when you are hungry for the first meal of the day. Seriously under staffed in the morning. Come back for lunch or hang around to watch the game with a good pizza at night if you want a good brick house experience.
Review Source:DO NOT EVER GO HERE.
Horrible service. Â We waited over an hr for a Hot Dog, cold sub and a hot sub. Â After an hour we got up and left.
Waitress was terrible. Â
We thought it would be a nice place to eat outside after a nice ride on the bike path. Â
I was wrong on that account.
Save your money and try some other restaurant.
I wish I could give it zero stars.
Owner called after reading my review and apologized for the way I was spoken to. I truly appreciated the time he took. so I decided to give it another try. Â About two weeks ago we ordered two large steak, carmalized onion and ricotta pizzas. Â When the pizza arrived it only had the steak and onions on it. So we called back and asked why there wasnt' any ricotta. They said they didn't hear my husband say it or the onion, but I know they did because he had to say it 6 times and spelt it for the girl. Â Then they proceeded to say they didn't charge us for the onion, but they put it on. Now if she only heard steak why would they put the onion on? Someone isnt' being truthful. Â We paid 18 dollars a pizza but we werent' charged for the onion.hmmm... Anyway, my husband asked that we get the ricotta since we figured we had to pay for it if we paid 18 dollars for a pizza. They had the delivery person bring by a 1/4 cup of ricotta and charged us another $6 dollars!!!! $6 for a 1/4 cup of riccotta, I could have gone to Market Basket and got 3 pints for that price!! So disappointed again.
Review Source:Stopped there on a whim one weekend afternoon. Â Let me say this: the 2 stars are for the service and not the food.
I had a teriyaki steak sammich and enjoyed it, while fiancee went for the meatball sub. Â Both of the sandwiches were tasty, but big, so bring reinforcements or be ready for leftovers. Â
Service-wise, we never got greeted by a hostess (although we saw other people after us get greeted and seated) so we just decided on a spot in the bar. Â There was one bartender and at least two servers working at the time (that we saw). Â No one brought a menu over so I took it upon myself to liberate one from the front. Â Once we finally got noticed a good 10 minutes later, we put in our orders. Â Drinks and food came out relatively quickly, but there was never any real follow-up from the server. Â Now I'm not expecting a Friday's/Chili's style server who's excited to be in your grill every 2 minutes, but at least checking on us at some point would've been nice, because then she would've noticed that our drinks were empty. Â After seeing our server walk by at least 5 or 6 times without nary a glance, I once again took it upon myself to grab Coke refills from the beverage station up front. Â I'm not even sure if I was supposed to or not. Â The wait for the check took awhile too. Â
As I said before, the food itself was good. Â I'm hoping that this was just a glitch in the Matrix and our server was having a bad day, although that seems to be the norm in this area.
I can only comment on the take out / delivery. First, they are very quick on deliveries. We've never had to wait more than a half hour. The pizza here is really good. I've seen a few comments about the sweet sauce, it's what I like most about it. The crust is excellent as well. My only suggestion to the owner would be to use paper or some sort of divider between the pizza and the pizza box. We've occasionally been able to taste the box in the pizza.
Review Source:Brickhouse Pizza was a fallback after first going to the Bertucci's across the parking lot and finding a 25-minute wait at 6 p.m. on a Tuesday (see my separate review).
I'll start with the best parts. Service was spot on: friendly, efficient, and patient. I had a cold Harpoon IPA in hand less than 3 minutes after ordering. Thanks, Kim. My friend's chicken calzone ($10) was mammoth and looked fantastic. It could easily have fed two. My Buffalo chicken pizza ($11) was good. You can have grilled or deep fried chicken. I went with fried. The shame is that the pizza could have been great. I loved the thick dough which smelled of yeast (this stuff was fresh) and a little smoke. Where it fell short is the sauce which was at once spicy and overly sweet. And the pizza lacked blue cheese and onion. This is "Buffalo chicken" pizza after all. Kim offered me blue cheese dressing (which cost $0.50). It's not the same as crumbled blue cheese which, again, should be ON a Buffalo chicken. As for size and value, I was hungry and still brought home three slices.
The decor here is pretty bad. Handwritten price increase signs were taped to the walls everywhere. Brickhouse is billed as a sports pub, but there were no TVs in the bar dining room. It was loud because the room was so sparsely decorated it echoed. The table we had was wobbly and had some cheesy beer label (I think) motif. Owners - you really should invest in new furniture, placeware and utensils. And your menus, with that brick pattern background, are hard to read.
The staff and patrons seemed to be having fun, as did my friend and I, but Brickhouse needs an upgrade...and a fix for that sweet sauce.
Let me know what you think of my review by clicking a button below. Thanks.
Brickhouse is now serving breakfast (as of only a couple weeks ago, apparently). Â I went in with a party of 3, and all 3 of us enjoyed our meals. Â The omelette was perfectly made and stuffed with fillings. Â They correctly cooked fried eggs over medium, and poached eggs soft (egg cookery is key for breakfast, if you ask me). Â The home fries were home-made on the flat-top and delish. Â
I wish the corned-beef hash wasn't the canned variety. Â I still enjoy that, but not as much as a good, homemade one. Â The hollandaise was well made, though.
Prices were reasonable. Â Service was great, though it's hard to screw up when there's only 2 parties there, I suppose. Â Still, our waitress was attentive and friendly. Â (I'm fairly certain the lack of patronage was only because so few people know they're open for breakfast, yet.)
I haven't had a favorite take out place in a long time so it was nice to discover Brickhouse. Â When I forget my lunch, I don't care because Brickhouse's lunch time delivery comes quick! Â I love their steak tip and Greek salad, large enough serving that it's two lunches. Â The calzone and pizza is to die for, the sauce is a little sweet but great. Â Co-workers laugh when I ask where are we getting take out because they know my vote is for Brickhouse.
Our high school reunion will be there over the summer, should be cool with the outdoor seating. Â The bar is spacious and the service is always terrific. Â When I go there for lunch, it's a quick visit. Â I get a 1/2 an hour, so I call ahead of time to place my order, we go there to eat and we are done within the 30 minutes. Â
If you work close by and are looking for a new favorite take out place, check out Brickhouse. Â They get kudos for a cool website, too.
My family visited once and we liked the loud sports bar atmosphere well enough and the food was...ok. Recently we ordered pizza delivered to our home- we live 1/2 mile away- and I have to tell it was the Worst pizza I have eaten in 20 years. The Brickhouse locations that are pizza only make a nice pie, but this stuff wasn't even bar food, it was barf food. bad.
Review Source:Center Brickhouse Pizza is a suburban shrine to Boston pro sports teams. Aren't most sports bars shrines to local sports teams? Championship banners, framed Sports Illustrated covers, photos of memorable moments in Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins history adorn the walls. Several flat screen monitors are constantly tuned to a smattering of sports stations like NBA TV, NFL Network, Golf Channel, The Worldwide Leader, or the game du jour.
The main dining area has tall bar tables along one side of a U shaped bar. On the other side of the U, some two and four top tables can be rearranged to accommodate parties of various sizes. Weather permitting, they have outdoor seating. Seats at the bar fill up during lunchtime.
Some of my lunchtime favorites here include the chef salad which is served with a really tasty slice of fluffy pita bread. For a pita, it's a leaven bread, definitely not a flat bread. Club sandwiches are served with coated fries and a dill pickle spear. Sub sandwiches are served with a bag of chips and a dill pickle spear. Most of the standard pub fare on the menu comes with a dill pickle spear.
The waitstaff here is not overly attentive. This is not a place to go if you're in a rush. The bathroom looks and smells clean which should not be overlooked. If you can make the turn into the parking lot and not get frustrated merging back into traffic on your way out, you might enjoy Center Brickhouse Pizza again and again.
Waited 30 minutes and all we got was one soda. Â Wish I could have more to go on to write my review!
I don't know what the deal was, but after a nice bike ride we thought this would be a perfect place for lunch.
We were seated outside fairly quickly, and had our drink order taken. Â Then we spent a while trying to find someone, really anyone, to help us get some food (we had our toddler with us which did not help things at all). Â Eventually we had to give up, go inside, tell them which table we were and pay for the one soda.
It's been a long time since I've had to walk out due to a business not being able to serve me, or even take my order.
As we walked out the waitress finally appeared and said "sorry it's been, like, foreverrr" .... yeah.....
I meet some friends here for drinks and after I figured out where it was I liked it. I will definitely be making some return trips.
So first of all this place is tucked behind the building on the corner of Rt 110 & Rt 4 and the parking lot for the plaza the Bertuccis in. The parking lot for it also kind of confusing as the Bruce Freeman bike trail runs right through it, but once you get over all that its good times.
The restaurant is in an old house which makes for a pretty cool layout. There is a small porch on the front which has some hightop tables on it so you can enjoy the outdoors. Then inside the left side of the place is a good sized bar area that is full of autographed sports memorabilia and TVs. The right side area was for take out and there was also a loft above the right side which had some additional tables in it and looked pretty cool.
The bar had a bunch of different selections on draft, but most of them were pretty standard fare (Bud, Bud Light, Stella, Heineken, Blue Moon, Sams, Sam Seasonal). They also had some additional selections by the bottle, but again they were all pretty main stream. Where I was surprised was what they had on the bar. They had a whole host of the less common scotches, bourbons and whiskeys which were priced very low. They had a whole host of other selections so the bar was pretty well stocked. That said the two girls who were working it I wouldn't trust to make anything more than a single alcohol and a single mixer. I had to point which bourbon I wanted and she then asked me what kind of glass she was supposed to use.
For food I only had some buffalo wings which were decent. They had pizza and burgers and other selections. They all looked pretty good and the guy sitting next to me ordered a burger and said it was awesome when I asked him how it was.
