Awful service here. I came with a Groupon and they didn't explain what they were doing with it. My waitress kept saying that I hadn't reached my limit so I kept spending money. Then I got my check and they wouldn't apply my groupon to it because it was Tapas Tuesday. I told them they could charge me full price and then apply my Groupon and that would be fair. My Groupon was $25 for $50 worth of food. I spent $53 if you made everything full price, which my Groupon would have covered almost entirely. But they only gave me a small discount and I owed them $20. So I paid $25 for the Groupon and $20 for the meal. It ended up being a rip off, I spent more money, I didn't save ANY money at all. I complained to the waitress got NOTHING. No sympathy, no comping, nothing. It was very infuriating.
Putting the Groupon aside, the waitress only checked on us twice the entire meal. The ceviche had too much lime in it. The tapas were excellent as was the sangria. The atmosphere was nice but it was very loud in the formal dining area.
All in all, customer service sucks here. I used to be a waitress and I would never have done what they did. I would have recommended people and come back. But now I am never going back and I am going to tell people how dishonest they are.
My dad and I stumbled upon Ceviche by chance and it was incredibly busy and fun and has some of the best tapas I have ever had. The paella is to die for.
The service was fabulous. Our waiter suggested some great dishes. The meats were prepared very well and everything was extremely flavorful.
Ceviche is certainly a bumping date night spot. The atmosphere is intimate and the dancing is spicy on a Saturday night. I definitely looked like my Dad's much younger trophy wife when we ate here.
looked this restaurant up on downtown orlando site for a date and they came highly recommended. The place has two parts one if formal dinning and the other side is where the bar,, stage and just a few seating available. since there was a wait at the dinning area we decided to stay at the bar where to our excitement the live music was. We were given a ridicoulusly long menu which was hard to read under all the poor lighting and small font. I ordered CHURRASCO AL CABRALES-
Grilled New York strip medallion with
compote of white leeks and shiitake
mushrooms, served with Spanish Cabrales sauce
It was great ! cooked perfectly, we also go a free order of there famous potatoes which taste like mayo and ketchup with a spash of spicyness. Freaking delicious. The sangria is horrible though, the wine they have on stock and use in the sangria has a watery consistancy Yuck Yuck. everything else was great. Actually danced a bit after the live music they played latin music. all and all a great place to take a date.
I love going here for Tapas Tuesdays!
Ceviche has a lively, yet intimate atmosphere. The service is always been great and I have enjoyed almost all of the dishes I have ordered here! I love the Spanish tortilla, pollo al ajillo, mejillones catalanca, corazones de alcachofas...there are so many options on such a varied menu! The bread and chimichurri-like dip at the beginning is also great, but make sure you don't fill up on too much, because it's addicting! The tapas have always arrived to our table promptly.
I have always had a positive experience here and I have to add that I love the $4 martinis they have had on special all Summer long! (P.S Their well vodka is Russian Standard.)
Ceviche is a nice place for a special night out. I've been here about 4 times now, mostly for Tapas Tuesdays, but also once for an event on a Saturday evening. Going earlier in the evening on a Tuesday for $4 sangria and $4 tapas is great! That is a lovely experience and it's not too busy if you get there before 7pm. The one time I went for a Saturday night event with friends was super busy, not ideal for me, but the restaurant staff were really good at trying to keep up with the big weekend crowd. There was also live music on stage which was fun. Overall I like the food and drinks at this place and the interior is impressive looking Spanish style décor. I really like all of the shrimp tapas dishes that I have tried. The white sangria is different and refreshing with apple chunks in it. I like this place, but it can get really busy!
Review Source:I cannot speak highly enough of Ceviche. We had our wedding reception in the 2nd floor banquet hall. They have amazing food, fantastic service (Kelly is awesome to work with!), and their entire team goes out of their way to make your day special. All of our guests loved the food, complemented all of the servers and bartenders, and especially loved the banquet manager for the evening--Mark. Mark saved the day when one of our vendors utterly failed (O-Cartz - avoid at all cost!!) They didn't show up to pick us up from the sparkler exit and Mark was on the phone several times straightening everything out. From the minute we first contacted Kelly, to the moment Mark put us in the cart when we left, we could not have been more happy. Thanks so much!
Review Source:I visited Ceviche for a friends birthday and although I had heard (and read) mixed reviews about this place I was pleasantly surprised with how great of an experience we had. Â First and foremost...I dont know why anyone would get something other than the Sangria...its a great deal to get a pitcher and it tasted great. Â Our bartender told us a small pitcher was 3 glasses but we easily got 4+ glasses out of it so it was a much better deal than paying $6 a glass. Â Our waiter was just okay.. I couldn't even hear what he was saying half of the time so that was a little annoying but he got our orders correct and was pleasant so not a horrible aspect of the visit. Â The menu has tons of options with the front side all cold tapas and desserts and the back side all of the hot menu items and then it is split from chicken/beef/pork, then seafood, then vegetarian so it was pretty easy to navigate what areas of food we were looking to find. Â Within each category there were probably closed to 20 or so options so everyone should be able to find something they would be interested in. Â I ordered grilled lamb chops (can't remember the spanish name) and they were excellent and my husband ordered stuffed Quail which was definitely not my favorite at all but he enjoyed it.
My #1 complaint is the prices. Â I knew going in that they were known to be expensive and I knew the plates were Tapas size but considering I can get an entire plate full of food at other restaurants for the prices they were charging for a VERY mini plate was somewhat annoying so next time I will probably return for Sangria only or if if someone else is treating :)
After reading the reviews for this place, my boyfriend decided to take me here for my birthday. Â We went with another couple and had a great time. Â The pitchers of sangria are great!
Since we ate a late lunch, this was a perfect idea-the tapas were great! Their menu easily has about 80 different tapas to choose from, starting with cold items and venturing into the warm, chicken, seafood and read meat. Â Between the 4 of us we had 5 different tapas--Ceviche de Atun, Banderillas Mixtas, Chuletas de Cordero, Codorniz Rellenos, and Vieiras Puerros. Â Everything that we had was delicious! The scallops practically melted on my tongue, and my friend ate the lamp chop right down to the bone. Â
We were lucky enough to sit right next to the window and people watch, which if you have ever been to church street is an enlightening cultural experience. Â Our server was good, the only complaint that we had was that he was on the quiet side, so it was kind of hard to hear him. Â But he gave great suggestions!
Apparently there is also an upstairs to this place as well. Â The only reason that I know that is because their was a wedding reception up there, so i didn't get to see it.
This was a great experience and I can't wait to come back here many times and always try something different!
Tapas Tuesdays are my favorite! The sangria is tasty and gets you a nice buzz. Food has always been good whenever I've gone. You can't go wrong with the mussels, patatas bravas and fig spinach. I also like the live music by the bar and overall atmosphere. Plus, my sister had her wedding here in 2010 and the catered food (in particular the paella) was delicious! One of my favorite restaurants in Orlando :)
Review Source:Saturday night, by the bar, it's the place to be if you want good food and a completely different sort of entertainment. It's downtown for grown ups as you enjoy tapas like the FANTASTIC Gambas Bravas, the delicious Sangria, the beautiful architecture and ambiance and the unique and enticing flamenco show. I adore it and each time I have new friends in town I always suggest this. The trick to not waiting is to get there around 7:30-7:45 and sit right at the bar, take it slow in your dinner and stay put for at 9:30 the show starts and you wont be disappointed.
Review Source:I'm a bit embarrassed by our recent visit here. I've been here before and had a pleasant time. I talked up the restaurant to friends so we planned a late dinner here on a Saturday night to check out the flamenco dancers . Plus we knew that they were offering $1.60 select tapas and select drinks for their 16th anniversary.
I had called beforehand and the hostess mentioned that we could just walk in instead of making a reservation. Would've totally been nice if she mentioned there was a wedding party there and that there was a ONE HOUR WAIT. I was ticked off because our friends had driven out of their way, one coming all the way from Kissimmee. They were able to seat us outside at essentially a patio table you would find in a backyard. It was right next to the door. There was no privacy. We were right next to the door and also seated next to smokers which is my absolute pet peeve. Not to mention the noise coming from Church St. Just wasn't an ideal dining situation. The waiter eventually came by and I asked him about the special $1.60 tapas menu. He mumbled "patatas" and I told him "Shouldn't there be more ?" He looked a little flustered, brushed us off and walked away to find out . Didn't even bother to ask us what we would like to drink. Â Totally unacceptable. That sent my husband and I over the edge. Â We never did find out if there were other tapas offered because we ended up getting up and leaving and spending our money at Amura. Â I checked out the restaurant's FB page later and apparently they are offering only one discounted tapa PER WEEK during the promotion period. Their marketing is absolutely misleading. Don't state "select tapas" and a time frame if it will only be one discounted tapa PER WEEK. Beware of this if you are planning to take advantage of this promotion.
Overall, it was a disappointing and embarrassing experience because of my friends who were looking forward to dining here. Not sure if they will want to try this place again after their poor first impression.
The service was out standing and the food was amazing!
My husband and I went on a date. We sat at the bar and there was live music playing ! It was like a tuesday and they had all these specials going on. Even thought we didn't get anything from the special menu we thought it was so neat! We got two different types of ceviche , potatoes, duck with some kind of chocolate sauce, some FREE mussels with a penut sauce (brought by the manager for no reason) , tress leches dessert and cheap sangria. I loved everything about this place!
My wife and I have been there twice and we love it.
Monday thru Thursday they have happy hour pricing from 5 to 7Pm which makes them a great deal more affordable. Â Most drinks are $3-$4 and they have about a dozen tapas that are $4 each.
The first time we went it wasn't during happy hour and for the two of us our total bill came to well over $100. Â The second time we mostly ordered off the happy hour menu and our total bill came to about $40.
The food here is great. Â With tapas you can order a bunch of different dishes that come in small portions. Â The menu is HUGE so you have tons of dishes to try

Just one side note, the first time we went I ordered their regular Sangria. Â It was so disgustingly sweet I couldn't drink it and had to sent it back. Â They have a "Skinny Sangria" which has no additional added sugar, that is much more to my liking.
Awesome desserts and great staff. I always come here by myself and sit at the bar. The drinks are great and you can't go wrong with the smell of garlic. That smell makes anyone hungry. I like the shrimp dish but of course I have no clue what it is in Spanish. The staff is very helpful to an idiot like me without knowledge of much spanish.
One thing though... make the menu easier to read. Makes my ocd a little eeek.
I love this place. The menu is huge and the sangrias are delish!! I love the option of being able to sit and try a bunch of different little plates to share with a friend. The atmosphere is energetic with flamingo dancers that perform on stage and they have two pretty big bars to choose from. This is a great place to come with a group of people also. The food has always been good and there hasn't been anything that I didn't like so far. I like coming here before a concert or a game!
Review Source:I ate at Ceviche last week fo rthe second time and it was just as good as I rememberd. The Ceviche de la Casa was incredible, as was the Gambas Romesco. Â Mejillones Ahumados and Costillas de Cordero were good but I don't think I'd order either one again. Of course the Sangria was incredible! The meal was delicious and I'd eat there every week if I could!
Review Source:Beautiful restaurant. I was in love with all of the decor and vibe of the place instanly. Came here while on vacation with friends who are locals, and enjoyed great food and drinks. Among our plethora of food, I enjoyed the goat cheese, ceviche, tuna tartar, and asparagus the most. I would have just eaten the bread and oil it was so good! Made sure to have the mojitos they were delish, I would have ordered the sangria if I had read some reviews first because it sounds perfect.. I would come back for sure, maybe even if it is only to try the sangria.
Review Source:Wow! Buried in the pretentiousness that is Church street is a gorgeous restaurant that truly feels like a taste of Spain.
The menu has a wide variety of tapas and a surprisingly big selection of vegetarian dishes.
The sangria with the added brandy was delicious.
My favorite part of the night had to be the entertainment. Three lovely flamenco dancers, a beautiful singer, feisty guitar player, and amazing drummer graced the stage.
I will be returning here often now that I know I can avoid the rest of church street!
I've been here several times and have always had a wonderful time. The food is delicious enough to make even the most devout non-sharers pass their plate around in hopes of trying the other delectable portions on the table, and the sangria pitchers are good enough to turn anyone's day around.
The flamenco dancers and musicians nightly are a great way to top off a fabulous meal.
The wait staff should really be more knowledgeable about the menu and they definitely need to improve the lighting in some of the dining room areas- I was with one group and we had to use our phones to read the menu :(
Ceviche has become my go to place for good food and a good time.
They're Sangria is the best! The half pitcher is the perfect size to enjoy on a weekday night and the full pitcher is the best to start my weekend off with!
The food is solid and offers a good variety between seafood/meat/vegetarian options. I love the shrimp and salmon ceviches! Each time I try something new and have yet to be disappointed! While you wait for your food they bring bread out with a delish dip...warning this dip is the best but stays on your breath after your meal! Gum or mints are a must after.
The place is sectioned off into two areas, one has live music and the other is like a normal restaurant area. I will say, I'm a sucker for live music! On some nights Ceviche has Spanish dancers doing traditional dances with the music. It's pretty loud, but hey if your on a date just another reason to lean in a little closer ;).
The only downside is that this place is a little pricey, especially if you're getting multiple tapas.
Good Sangria and great food. We had a variety of different things (about 12 dishes between 6 of us). All were fantastic, specifically the portobello mushroom and potatoes (not sure what they were called, but they had a tasty mayo sauce). Paella was great too but wasn't as big as I thought it would be.

We went for their Tapas Tuesday special where select small plates and sangria are $4. Considering most of the plates offered on special were normally $6-8, it's a pretty good deal, and the selection is still quite substantial.
The atmosphere is busy but still somewhat intimate in the dining area. It wasn't too crowded for 6:30 and it'd be great for larger groups (we were only a party of 4) - plus isn't group dining the point of tapas?
So of course, you're going to order a bunch of items, and we went for a few veggies and a few meats. The roasted asparagus was wonderfully fresh, grilled just enough to give it a nice charred flavor without completely cooking it. Artichoke hearts were good, but the accompanying hearts of palm stole that show.
The chorizo was pretty bland in the two dishes it was heavily featured in - the stuffed peppers and the 5-chorizo skillet. If you're looking for spice, this isn't the place. We had to get an actual ceviche dish to see if it lived up to the name and the tuna was wonderfully fresh, just enough seasoning that you could taste the lime but still also taste the fish.
Chicken/ham croquettes were nothing special, would have paired them with another sauce besides the bechamel, which was a bit too sweet. The sauteed mushrooms had a wonderful garlic flavor, but I didn't catch the brandy or herbs. Fresh baked bread was provided (upon request after seeing it at another table) with an odd dipping sauce that was a cross between olive oil and herbs and a tapanede...flavor of the herbs but chunky like a tapanede minus the salt. Odd, but not bad. The babaganoush was nothing special, good but a bit light on the garlic.
The star of the night, the thing I was anticipating the most and didn't even realize we got until we complained, was the chicken livers and mushrooms. I'm a fan of chicken livers, and the dish was listed as sauteed chicken livers, mushrooms and bacon. As our items came out (they come as they're prepped, so it's staggered) we noticed one odd tomato-based dish with mushrooms, onions, and delicious clumps of ground meat.
We figured we got an incorrect dish as we were halfway through, but no one bothered to mention it because it was so delicious. The meat was rich and flavorful, seemed like it had been flash-fried because it was crispy on the outside even after sitting in a tomato sauce. At the end, we mentioned to the waiter we had not gotten the liver dish and he pushed an order through - when it was brought to the table my friends suddenly realized the winning dish of the night was indeed, liver. Tim, who was against it from the start, had just finished proclaiming that meat was the best thing he had all night. I call this a complete win, they had apparently mixed the bacon in with the livers to help offset the iron-flavor and it worked perfectly. If you hate liver, but love mushrooms, bacon and tomato, get this and you will like liver.
Anyway, enough liver gushing, time to wrap this up. Service is okay, it's fast paced so you pretty much have to flag your waiter down for drink refills or anything. Don't bug them about not getting a dish until you're near the very end of your meal - things are served as they're prepped, so there's no telling if/when you'll get what you ordered. Do keep a mental note of what you order so you're definitely getting all you asked for.
Prices are a bit high, but given the quality of the ingredients and location, it's not too horrible. Most plates (not on special) run about $8-12 and some do come in dinner portions, but sharing is just more fun.
The full menu is available, too, so you can order some of their awesome desserts. The chocolate cake was rich and moist without being too dense and came with a delicious custard and raspberry swirl sauce. The creme brulee was a bit loose, but tasty although I didn't find it benefitted from the chocolate shell. Definitely a return trip for me and friends on another Tuesday!
Dined at Ceviches a couple of weeks ago with business clients and felt they deserved a review.
I have t start by saying I read no reviews of this place nor did I even know it existed. It was a client that took me here for dinner, and I am thankful they did.
The place has an extremely warm and inviting interior, I personally loved the atmosphere and If I ever open a restaurant, I would consult with there Designer absolutely.
It was busy but not packed. We were greeted immediately and sat near a window with views of Church St. There was a Magic game going on across the street and the streets were packed. Our Server greeted us immediately and graciously and took our drink order. When she came back she recomended her favorites (Ceviche De La Casa, Pa Amb Oli, Codorniz de grilladore and Piquillos Rellenos).Our Server ( i forgot her name) was extremely attentive and curtious. She did a great job.
We started with some red sangria and it was pretty good, not the best but certainly not the worst, sometimes its hard to make a good red sangria because the warm red wine over the ice makes it seem a little weak, but it worked.
I had no problem with any of the food we ordered, we ordered everything the Server recomended and more. One of the dishes that stood out was the Rabo De Toro (oxtail) and it was excellent, soft, rich and meaty (atleast our pieces were). Another dish that I personally loved was the Higados De Pollo (crispy chicken livers), I know what your thinking but these were outstanding, I have had chicken livers before but a couple of my clients had not and they too were in love with this dish so much that we ordered another plate. Another dish that I was really in to was the Pulpo a la gallega (octopus in olive oil), the octopus was not chewy or tough but tender and sweet.
Be open minded when visiting a place like this and you will not be disapointed!
Recently moved here from IL in May of this year. I'm always interested in what's hot here in Orlando, FL. I happened to pick up The Orlando Magazine and notice an article on Ceviche/Flamenco Bar. It raved about good food, live music, and dancing - Things I love!
My honey and I finally found some time to go over Thanksgiving Break. We went on that Tuesday so that we could partake in the $4 tapas Tuesdays and Sangrias.
We decided to go sit over in the Flamenco Bar where the stage is so that we could hear the music while we ate. The ambiance was amazing. It was nice and dark with romantic candles. And let me just say that our server was absolutely AMAZING, he took great care of us.
We ordered 3 tapas to start with and we also had some sangria. Our favorite of the three was Chorizo y Pimientos off of the Caliente (hot) menu. Overall all the food we ordered was delicious, but we didn't really care for the CROQUETAS DE POLLO.
After we finished our first order, we stepped on the dance floor -the band was wonderful- We held each other close and danced as if it were just us two. We ordered two more tapas and some more Sangria. After we did our last dance, the server brought out some creme brulee for us to try. It was our first time trying it. . .DELICIOUS!
This was a great night for us. . Great food, Service, Music, Ambiance, Everything. We'll be back :)
If you just want to try out this resturant, then come on Tuesday for the $4 tapas. You can see if you like it. That way you can save some money if it's not your thing and come back again if it is. Hope this helps :)
For dinner on my first night in Orlando, my guy brought me to a place he knew I'd like in Downtown Orlando. We both love seafood and trying new food, he loves it when I pick new things to try. We wanted tapas and drinks and took a seat at the crowded bar.
The restaurant interior fits the Latin vibe. I like this method and will have to try this again soon in my cooking. What I was unsure of was why there were grill marks inside that were not from the paper. I guess the fish was pre-grilled and then steamed. Hands down, one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando! Don't let the name fool you, this place is much more than just Ceviche dishes.
Have you ever wanted to try new something new, Â went out, spend a lot of money, only to be disappointed because it turns out you didn't enjoy the new dish? Ceviche is the answer. Â Since the plates are served Tapas style (small portions of multiple different items) you can order some safe food along with your adventurous new items. Â
The food is great and the atmosphere is perfect for date night. It is a bit on the pricey side as those small dishes add up quick.
Insider Tip: I recommend you try different dishes every trip but the Patatas Bravas (potatoes tossed with spicy homemade aioli) are a must every time
Fun Fact: Come here on Tuesday Nights for specials including $4 plates  and cheap $4 sangria!
Came here for a wedding reception. Â It was well done. Â The cocktail hour was held on the first floor and had a stage with flamenco dancers and live music. Â Trays of fresh fruit and yummy cheeses were laid out and the sangria was a little weak but flowing freely. There may have been other food served but I drank too much to remember, unfortunately. Â Or fortunately. It seemed that the better your tips were, the stronger your sangria. Â Or maybe I'd just had one too many....
The reception itself was held on the second floor. Â It was very pretty and dinner was buffet style. Â All the food was seriously delicious. Â Loved the pollo al Jerez - grilled chicken in Spanish sherry cream sauce - just succulent. The chorizo al Brandy was some of the most flavorful sausage ever. Â The patatas bravas were accented by a rich but excellent aioli and the haricot verdes were fresh and crisp - the most flavorful item on my plate. Â There was also some hot crusty, chewy bread served with a Spanish type of pesto that was just superb and a nice crisp salad.
The cake was the only thing that fell flat for me. Â There were two kinds - coconut and red velvet (everyone wants red velvet for their wedding these days, it seems) and both may as well have been made from a mix, the flavor and texture were both so disappointing most people took a bite or two and left the rest.
I would like to go back and have dinner at Ceviche one day and try some more of their entrees, as well as one of their more traditional desserts, like bread pudding or tres leches. Â Hope to be able to do this soon.
This is one of my favorite places to go. Things you MUST order when you go: Potatas Bravas and any of the Sangria (sparkling is the best but it's expensive).
Usually, each person will order two items and everyone in our party would get a taste of it; not good for people who can't share. It's in a great location with a lot of history; the building used to be a saloon type restaurant with a show and it still looks very ornate. The service is always great but it can get really busy during dinner time.
Ceviche's would win five stars if it were just for ambiance and décor. It feels like you just walked into a 1910 Vampire den in the middle of New Orleans. The lighting, the woodwork, and stained glass all take you to a different place, and I love that. It felt very romantic and dark. Â
We ordered a different variety of food, from your basic steak and potatoes to sushi grade tuna and tofu. Everything had a distinct flavor and even though it was served tapas style, I felt the portions were generous. Â If you are adventurous, the food cost can add up very quickly, add some drinks and you will be paying for a meal more in range with fine dining. Â I thoroughly enjoyed all the meat dishes, but the vegetable dishes lacked flavor or were not cooked properly. One piece of endive tasted as if the cook accidentally spilled the salt on it.
The mixed drinks were good, but I really think drink ware should be thrown out when there is a chip or crack. Both our glasses were heavily chipped, it wouldn't have been hard to unintentionally cut yourself!
Overall I enjoyed my visit and would go again, especially if I was in a carnivoreish mood!
The only reason I like this place is because of their delicious red sangria and their creme brulee! Â I doubt I will ever go back for lunch (never go there if you're on a time limit).
I went here on my lunch hour on a Wednesday with a group of girls for a birthday celebration. Â I was in no rush and expected to be there a little over an hour....but I was there for 2 hours, which I was not expecting and didn't really want to have to make up that much time at work.
First of all, there were maybe 3 other tables of people in this restaurant along with us and it took about 20 minutes for us to get our drinks. Â Jennifer, our waitress was very quick with everyone and it was hard to get a word in or ask her anything bc it seemed like she didn't want to be bothered. Â I had to ask for my drink 3 times before it actually made it to the table. Â It then took another 20 minutes until she even considered taking our order. Â By this time, my lunch hour was almost over. Â
After being there for an hour and 15 minutes, our food finally came out. Â I saw our waitress at the other end of the table pick up my food and look at it and bring it to the kitchen. Â She never once mentioned to me that my order came out incorrect and that she sent it back to have it fixed, the only reason I knew was because I saw it happen. Â My food was the last one to be brought out (at least 10 minutes after everyone else was already eating) and my food came out wrong and was missing a very important ingredient....the ham! Â I continued to eat my food and asked for the ham that they put on the salads (I didn't care if it was cold). Â I waited 15 minutes for the ham and it was not the kind I asked for and I only got 5 pieces the size of nickels.
Afterwards everyone received their checks and I had two $5.00 off lunch coupons that my sister won from the Downtown Confidential that she gave to me that had no restrictions on them whatsoever. Â She refused to let me use both of them on my lunch and then I had to wait about 15 minutes for her to find the manager to take the $5.00 off of my check for me while the rest of my party left to go back to work.
Aside my problems, a couple other girls at my table also had some issues. Â One of the girls ordered some hummus (which was a tappas item that comes out fast) and she didn't even get it until everyone finished eating and had paid!! Â The waitress gave her an option of paying for it and having it boxed up, or having it taken off the bill and taken away from her to where she does't get it at all. Â In my opinion, it should have been comped and put in a to-go box for her for the inconvenience and not being able to eat her food at the table.
I was extremely unhappy with my experience there and my food. Â I was a little too excited when I got to leave my "you've been yelped" card on the table.
Met up with some friends to sit outside, have some dinner and drinks, and watch the happenings downtown. Â My wife and I had some sangria and a selection of tapas (Baba Ganoush, Garbanzo Hummus, Gambas y Aguacate, Solomillo a la Parilla, and I think another one or two that I can't remember). Â They all tasted pretty good, but none of them really tasted so good that they were worth the respective prices of up to $13 for just a couple of bites.
Service was off and on, one of my ordered tapas never ended up making it to the table (thankfully, we weren't charged for it) and after our initial order we hardly saw the waiter again until we had decided that it wasn't worth waiting for another round of tapas, we'd just go grab a hot dog from a street vendor on the way home.
All told, we left Ceviche still hungry but with a far lighter wallet. Â It's a beautiful place in a great location, but I just can't justify spending that kind of money for practically no food.
I really really wanted to like this place.... I actually left it a 4 star review about 6 months ago.... Â It is really hit or miss.. Our food was bleh this last Saturday, my bill was 135$ and I was hungry and unsatisfied upon leaving. Â The service was NON EXISTENT we had a large party and I swear our waitress came around 4 times TOTAL. Most people had never been there, but she did not make any suggestions or offer recommendations as our other server had done in the past.
There are much better places downtown...
The atmosphere is really intimate and cool. Â Live music was playing when we first walked in. Â We chose to sit in the main dining room so we could all chat without screaming. Â Their menu is enormous! Â I ordered all hot dishes (back side of the menu). Â I had the fish croquettas, calamari, five types of sausage, stuffed red peppers, and red snapper. Â The red snapper was a bit too salty. Â My favorite out of the dishes were the stuffed red peppers and the croquettas. Â
I don't think I would come back here on any other day. Â We took advantage of the Tapas Tuesday deal which is $4 for a handful of tapas. Â If everything were at normal price, I would definitely feel ripped off for the portion size and taste of the food. Â My total for the 5 dishes and 3 Sangrias (which are also $4 each on Tuesdays) came to $40 which was great! Â Only because it was Tuesday though!!! Â
Great place for a Tuesday night!
