We went here for my Father's birthday last night.  I guess it wasn't a totally dismal experience, but could have been much, much better.  We got right in at 5:30.  I think they were understaffed (although there seemed to be plenty of staff just walking around instead of helping).  It took forever to order our food and forever to get it.  We ordered an appetizer (crab cakes), and it never came.  When we reminded the server, he did bring it and it wasn't added to the bill.  Our table ordered the crab cake appetizer - very small but ok.  Ribeye - ordered medium rare, and came  rare.  The shrimp combo was good.  Fish and chips were ok - the fish was thin, so it seemed a lttle tough, perhaps overdone?  The only soups offered were seafood gumbo and clam chowder - I know this is basically a seafood restaurant, but not everyone likes seafood, or seafood in their soup.  I was surprised they didn't offer a more generic selection like vegetable or chicken noodle for those non-fish lovers.  Also, the only sides availabe were a mixture of squash, red skinned potatoes and crab coleslaw.  How about a baked potato, rice, grilled asparagus, risotto - a little more variety would be nice.  Also, as one other reviewer mentioned, they tried to "get away" with not giving us the discount because we were seated before 6:00.  You only get the discount if you bring it to their attention - what a SCAM!  How honest is this????  I had to go out to my car about 5 minutes till 6:00 to get my dad's gift and the waiting area was packed with no hostess to be found.  They didn't want anymore people seated before 6:00.  My dad did get a SMALL sliver of cheesecake for his birthday for no charge.  But the server brought the whole table a fork to share it - it was a SLIVER!  All in all, the meal was just ok, service was slow, and the menu choices too few.  I don't think I or anyone in my party will be back.  It wasn't worth the  money and I was very disappointed in the "honesty" of the restaurant.
