Cheapskates

Twice now I've been here, and I feel that I can give a review with some information. So let's all get on board Bear's train and ride this puppy.

First, this place used to be some other bar that I never stepped into, because it looked pretty sketchy, so be aware that this is a "New Place" now. I think it was Dylan's Tap House or something like that. Moving on, the inside is quite nice. Clean, airy, and it's got a more upscale sort of look to it, and chalk board walls where they will post specials/event info etc.

The Booze Selection is quite good. A fair smattering of beers on the tap craft and domestic, and a medium selection of bottles. Tap Selection could be better IMO when you consider just how many breweries are nearby, and the selection of some other places in the area, but hey, you can't have it all. Liquor wise, they have a great selection of your normal stuff of Bacardi, Jack, etc; but also have some really unique spirits that you don't find very often in bars, much less liquor stores. (They actually have Pusser's Naval Rum!!!)

No doubt the best deal there is the $5 Coors Light with Sailor Jerry shot. Crap, it's Coor's Light, but HEY SAILOR JERRY!!

Thus far I've had the wings, which while tasty, were on the smaller size sorta like you get at Buffalo Wild Wings, which is disappointing.  They really were like Sparrow Wings than Chicken Wings. (C'mon man!!) However, the flavor was quite good. Not vinegary for the hot, and the blue cheese they served with it was a chunky and pretty good one. I saw the burgers come by, and they looked pretty tasty. Definitely going to get one of them next time or a sandwich.

The staff I have met, Nina and Kim are both pretty cool bartenders. Friendly, and more than willing to sit and chat while it's quiet and make sure everyone is taken care of.  

I can't speak for the noise level or how it is when busy, because both of the times I went it was off days. (once on New Years day, and the other on BCS national championship, not a good day for a new bar that hasn't established itself yet)

Overall, a tentative 4 stars at the moment, as I go more it will fluctuate, but I'm liking this little new place thus far.

Actually, the remodel/cute new staff makes it worth the trip. Good bar food and decent drink specials. Close to Yale and 225. Good Colorado attitude bar.
