This B&B is a great find if you don't want to stay in one of the casinos.  It's very unassuming from the outside but the room (the very blue, beach themed room 5) was just fine.  Very clean, a little lopsided, comfy bed, flat screen tv, wifi.  The bar downstairs was very dated but we redeemed our free drink coupon there and ended up coming back for a late night drink.  Had a good time chatting with the bartender, Mike.

I'd stay again and I'd recommend it for a reasonably priced option.

Stopped in at the pub the last couple times I've been in AC.  The beers are cheep and there is a decent selection and the food is all really good.  Also, it's open 24 hours.  Definitely not a gourmet place but a great dive bar!

reviewing the "Pub" - it is a rather weird , funky, or eclectic but also rather interesting dive bar. they got pool tables, lots of tvs with sports, cheap beer including some decent stuff, wacky crowd which includes a diverse mix of types ranging from young punk rocker types to old guys watching sports and all in between..  don't know anything about the hotel, it looks OK from the outside.  the bar is open 24 hours!! pretty cool.  the crowd seems to consist of a good mixture of locals and people staying in the nearby casino hotels or the Inn itself, since the place is quite close to the boardwalk it gets plenty of the visitor crowd but definitely has a strong local friendly feel too.

Cozy and clean! Yes the stairs and floors are uneven, but the place is nice and makes a very good bed and breakfast!

I have to thank fellow Yelpers for giving the Chelsea Pub and Inn a good review.  I checked in last Friday, June 22,  and was very pleased.  This is not a new building so don't expect modern amenities like in a recently built establishment, however the ambiance and decor was fabulous,  It was also spotlessly clean, beds were very comfortable and water pressure was very good.  Even though I anticipated staying two days in AC,  I was not sure if I would like Chelsea  so I only booked Friday which ran me $125.  I  was so satisfied that in the morning I tried to book another day  but it was all filled  up. Bummer.  The owner who runs the place was very friendly and hospitable. She gave me a complementary drink coupon, standard,  to the bar downstairs. Yes, there is a bar downstairs that is affiliated with the Inn and the bar tender is just as friendly. I ate a burger and buffalo wings from the bar and it was good and reasonably priced. The Chelsea  is within close proximity to the Tropicana so you can walk over to events there or to gamble. In fact, I went over to the Comedy Spot at Tropicana within two minutes.  I laughed my ass off.
Folks, I left the best for last.  The owner told me breakfast is served in the morning around 9 am. So, I went in to the dinning area expecting the customary breakfast that I get in other hotels. Let me tell you, I was fricking blown away.  The breakfast rivaled many of the breakfasts I have eaten in high class hotels. I mean sausage, eggs, ham, pastrami, brie, cinnamon rolls, assortment of jellies, good coffee... I can go on. Oh, by the way, you don't use paper utensils it is real dishes.  I really felt at home.  In fact, I am about to book another weekend in July.  This time I am booking Friday and Saturday together. I am giving  4 stars only  because it is not on a level with a hotel like Trump Taj Mahal and  5 stars would be misleading.   However, on lower level hotels in the $150 - $200 range I would close my eyes and choose Chelsea.  In fact, I had stayed in the Econo Lodge down the street from Chelsea and my stay was absolutely terrible. Lets not even go there.

Walked in at dinner time and they were painting overhead. The waitress greeted us with, " you have to get your own drinks at the bar." this was not companies by any other explanation or hello. She dropped the menus at our table and the only other thing she did was take our order and drop the check off. The food was fine but we rushed our meal just to leave.

Stayed in the Annex, and for what it is, this place was fine.  I paid $100 for a room and spent all of 20 minutes in the room while not sleeping.  The beds were comfortable enough and the room was clean enough.

It's near the end of the strip, but still on the boardwalk, beach, and within walking distance of several casinos.  Downstairs restaurant isn't too bad for brunch either.

If you have an smartphone, download the app hotels2night for a chance at a sub $100 a night room.

I'm only rating the bar, since I don't really have a need to stay overnight in AC.

Boyfriend and I stumbled in after a delicious al fresco dinner at Harry's. Bartender Mike was entertaining and kept the drinks coming...except not for me. He never once asked me if I'd like another drink. Instead, my empty glass would sit there until either I specifically asked for another, or boyfriend ordered it for me. Wasn't like he didn't realize I was sitting there with an empty glass; he'd look right at me, give boyfriend another beer, pour drinks for other patrons, etc. I wasn't intoxicated by any means so I'm not really sure what the deal was.

There was an eclectic mix of patrons here, made even more amusing by the availability of packaged goods for takeout. Actual conversation:

Jersey-shore Situation-esque muscleface with 5 of his equally ridiculous looking bros: "Yo bro, you got somethin' with us? You keep lookin' at us like you got somethin' wit us"

    Boyfriend: "Excuse me?"

Me: "We're wondering if you all get your hair cut at the same place."

I also dumped about $25 into their juke box, which has a pretty sweet selection, and entertained customers young and old with hits from the '40s up through today. Apparently they have a whole bunch of pool tables in the back. And they're putting in an attached sushi bar? Can't wait to see how that goes over.

First of all, thank you yelpers for leading me to this amazing gem of a place!!!  I was looking for places to stay while attending the AC Beer Festival and was only thinking along the lines of casinos before seeing this inn's profile.

For just under $200 dollars (after all taxes and fees) this place is a must.   Every room is different in this bed & breakfast.  We stayed in room 12 which the room itself was small but the bathroom was the largest of any hotel I've ever seen.  From the minute we checked in we were welcomed by the innkeeper ( I think she told me her name was Jenny) and she made sure we were comfortable.

Free parking, free wi-fi, complementary  cocktails downstairs in the pub, and a breakfast buffet that's better than some places where I've paid extra for it, makes the Chelsea Pub and Inn a definite place that I would stay again in the future.

This place is great it feels like home stayed here overnight will be staying here again. However, when you look at the rooms look at each one cause you could get anyone and we got a room that's similar to a child's room. We took the picture's down to give it a more adult room. Couldn't change the wall color but eventually we grew to like it and it felt welcoming. We look forward to going back and will request a different room. it's better than most places for the price in the area and it's a stone's throw from the tropicana casino.

I've never actually stayed here overnight but my friends and I always end up here after the clubs. Most of their staff is friendly. Thier food is a bit over-priced but when you're starving at 3am-5am who cares? lol

This is the only place my boyfriend and I will be staying in AC from now on! Chelsea Pub and Inn is so comfortable, clean, and accommodating. We felt immediately at home, the room was huge and clean with great antique fixtures and paintings. The staff is so friendly and they have anything and everything you would need. The breakfast in the morning is awesome! Oh and the best part, they are pet friend so our pup could come with us! The bar next door is open 24 hours w/ awesome cheap food and drinks and Mike the bar tender is hilarious and has a million stories.  I cant say enough about how great this place is, and we will be back soon!

I've only eaten here once, but the wings hot were outstanding enough to warrant a review.

I am giving this place a five star review because of an all around awesome find.  This place was cheap, in the heart of Atlantic City, had amazing staff, pet friendly, quiet rooms, a 24 hour restaurant downstairs, take out beer, wine and liquor store, 24 hour pub, an enclosed porch above the pub, and delicious breakfast until late morning.  For the area there isn't a more safe feeling and comfortable place you can find that is even remotely reasonable.  It was a blast.  The staff was also very nice in every request we had.  Very private.  Loved it.  Will be back and will suggest to everyone I know.

Love this place! Stayed here with 4 friends for my girlfriend's birthday. Prices can't be beat and the staff is awesome. The allowed us to check in super early and check out super late, put roses and champagne in the birthday girl's room and gave each of us a free drink card at the pub. Some of the reviews said that the place had sagging stairs, etc. Well yeah!!! The place is really old!!! That being said, it's also really clean and really cute. Some of my friends even had to ask the owner what kind of laundry detergent they used because the sheets smelled so nice.

The location is great, parking is free and we met some really interesting people that were also staying there. They go all out for their breakfast and it blows away the continental breakfast at ANY hotel (awesome cheese, gotta love the French). They even have free beach chairs for guests.

I feel very safe and comfortable staying here. So much so that my dog and I will be there again this weekend.

after looking for dinner after 1am, i was directed to this nearby 24hour divey pub which is attached to a seedy looking motel.

decorated in shamrocks, alcohol bottles, old booths, a wooden bar and a painting of an italian cafe???? we got some crispy jalapeno poppers, irish car bombs, and a sandy.

totally chill, nice waitress, didn't get poisoning, so all in all it's exactly A-OK.

we are only reviewing the pub. good "divey" spot with friendly bar staff and average bar food. we were a little disappointed the grilled cheese that comes with bacon did not come with bacon! after it came out and we asked, she then informed us they didn't have any more bacon. oh well. life went on. we drank some beers then headed to a bob seger concert. it was the perfect place to pre-game and the beers were cheap. we'd definitely go back next time we're in AC.

I love this place. You never know what's going to happen so you end up just sitting there for hours and hours waiting for the next crazy person to walk in. I mean that in the best way possible.

My friends and I went here for an end-of-the-night snack (think 3:30 a.m.). We were happy to find a place that was open. Had a seat at the bar and ordered the greasiest things we could find. These items consisted of a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, a philly chicken sub, and a burger. My ham and cheese was decent but the other two were pretty bad. Unless I am staying nearby (we were at The Chelsea Hotel, not to be confused with the Chelsea Inn), I would not go back here for any reason.

I had a fantastic time staying here this past weekend.

We arrived earlier than normal check-in at 4pm, but decided to see if we could get our room anyway. The very nice lady in the office said it would be another 15 minutes and then gave us two complimentary drink tickets to the 24 hr pub downstairs for the inconvenience of having to wait (even though we were 3 hrs early).

The Chelsea Inn is a Bed & Breakfast and definitely has that feel. All the rooms are decorated individually. I think the room itself is best described as 'cute.' It was very colorful, unique and almost a little antique. Although we were given a TV and a tiny fridge, there were no phones, which I thought was odd...but maybe not, since all of us carry cell phones now. The bathroom was clean, except for a questionable shower mat, which we removed. But besides, we were provided with shampoo & conditioner, a wine opener and glasses served on a silver platter when we wanted to open our wine and the staff there was very nice. One of the staff also brings her bunny to the Inn on Sundays, so there was a little bunny hopping around the lobby!

More reasons for the 5 stars: A great deal for an amazing location. The Inn is just one block away from the Tropicana, and just two blocks from the boardwalk. There's also a 7-11 & liquor store down the street.

We paid less than half for the room compared to the other rates, and probably had a better experience, more personalized customer service...esp. when we can just walk into the Tropicana or Trump Lobby and use their casino and eat at their restaurants.

Highly recommended! We'll be back next year.

I had occasion to book a family trip to Atlantic City in December for a birthday, and settled on Chelsea Hotel. It was wonderful and awful all at once. The price can't be beat--its right next to the Trop but about half the price, which was good for our group. Every time I called I spoke with the owner who was super sweet, and when we arrived she had put flowers in the birthday girl's room, and stocked the fridge with bubbly for a b'day toast (it was cheap stuff, but an awesome and unrequested gesture).

The rooms? Vary wildy. The birthday girl's was the nicest, complete with a walled off walk in shower and plenty of room. But overall the place could really stand an overhaul. The stairs are sagging and crooked in spots, the tub and shower in our room was minuscule, and the whole place smells slightly of smoke and old sex.

And the pub. Just skip it if you can--you'll get a free breakfast with your room, but its just not worth the hassle (and the gross taste). The bar fills up early, say 9am? Not for the faint of heart...
