How could anyone make "Italian" food so bland? A Caesar salad which consists of piles of dry cheese and stale croutons with a little bit of salad. Pesto pasta under seasoned to the max. Forgot part of the order(slice of unacceptably lame pizza) Â that they take at the counter. Â lasagna resembling tomato slop, also without flavor. Welcome to the equivalent of airline food served in a "restaurant" a shame, not like it takes much more effort to make tasty food.
Review Source:Looking for a quick bite to eat after hiking at nearby Lye Brook Falls, I came across Christos' Pizza and Pasta and decided to make a late lunch out of it. Â This restaurant has a wide selection of pizza and pasta, some with a Greek influence (feta cheese instead of mozzarella, for instance). Â They also have a limited selection of beer on tap, which actually surprised me, since I wasn't expecting this out of a pizza place.
I actually decided to order fettucine with a pesto sauce. Â It came with garlic bread and it was quite tasty. Â I'll have to make this a stop in Manchester in the future.
I was expecting for this place to be wonderful with all of the great reviews, but I was unfortunately left with a huge stomach ache after my meal at Christos', making me never want to step foot in this restaurant again. Â
My friend and I ordered a garden salad and the Eggplant Parmesan here all for the measly amount of $8.20 a piece. Â What a great deal, I thought, until I tasted the actual food. Â The food is filling but tastes like it comes out of a box. Â The salad's dressing tasted like a can of oil rather than a vinaigrette. Â The Eggplant Parmesan tasted like canned tomato sauce and frozen eggplant. Â It lacked any flavor or spice and just tasted like the tomato sauce was mixed with the eggplant and than served. Â The eggplant came with a side of pasta and garlic bread which were also completely from a can or frozen packet. Â I left full, but completely unsatisfied, and also probably weighed a bit more after from the fattening meal. Â I should have gone with pizza as the pizza seemed like a more simple dish to eat at a an eatery such as Christos' Pizza and Pasta. Â
The restaurant itself is clean and looks like your typical pizza joint. Â I should have realized this when I walked in and ordered nothing else but pizza, but unfortunately I didn't feel like pizza that night. Â You order at the counter and then they bring the food to the table. Â They were very accommodating about splitting the bill. Â
Conclusion: This place is completely average. Â Share your meal with a friend. Â Don't order anything but the pizza. Â This is not a gourmet restaurant.
