Simply the best place to have breakfast in Manchester.  Have been coming here for 20+ years.  Remember, getting up w/my Dad at 5:30am - driving down from Bromley to have first crack at the "chalk board - workman's special" (throwback), but if u got there too late it was gone!

We got up early and wanted a nice breakfast. Up For Breakfast was open at 7:00 AM and fit nicely into our hiking schedule. We decided to sit at the counter rather than a table. The staff was very friendly. Our orders arrived within a reasonable amount of time.  The pure maple syrup was warm and the jam was delicious. There was a scent of cinnamon in the air and I soon found out why as someone brought out a half dozen cinnamon buns to the front of the restaurant.  I couldn't resist and they were nice enough to wrap mine to go in plastic wrap so it would still be fresh when we finished our hike.  The prices were a bit high for breakfast, but the fresh quality of the food was worth the extra cost.

We decided to come here for breakfast after driving by the day before.  The line of people waiting out front told us that we'd made a good choice.  We walked up the stairs (its on the second story) and gave our info to the waitress/staff member that greeted us.  We were only a table of 2 so we only had to wait about 10 minutes.  We were graciously asked if we'd like some coffee while we waited!  I don't know if that's standard procedure but it was nice.  We were seated within the 10 minute time frame and given menu's and our drink order (Macadamia Nut Coffee) was taken. The menu was awesome, they had a make your own pancake combo section with 4 different types of batters and tons of different mix-ins. They also had a nice specials menu with interesting and tempting options.  My boyfriend opted for the Blueberry Buckwheat pancakes with a side of Wild Turkey Hash and I got a Breakfast sandwich with their own homemade sausage, onions, peppers, grilled tomato, and a side of yukon gold potato homefries.  I won't beat it to death, suffice to say that the food was Excellent.  It was cooked to perfection, and brought to us within record time. It was delicious.
The only issue I have with this place was when it came time to pay our check, we were told that they don't accept credit or debit cards, only cash or check.  So I had to leave the restaurant (my boyfriend stayed at the table) and walk down the street to a convenience store and use their ATM.  A little embarrassing to say the least.  I did check carefully on my way back to my seat to see if there was a sign posted noting this and there is not.

Bottom Line: The food is excellent (but pricey for breakfast-$35 dollars for 2 people) and they only accept cash or check, so stop at the ATM before you hit up this place.
