City of Champions

City of Champions is my favorite bar/grill in the Joliet area! They have awesome food and good drink specials! The servers are really cool, always keeping us smiling. I was disappointed to find our favorite server Matt was no longer there, but the other waitstaff is really friendly and will keep us coming back, if not as frequently.  We used to come here when it was the Kitchen and while the atmosphere has changed, the quality and service has not! Still my favorite in Joliet!

My in-laws took my hubby and me here when we went up for a visit. We went in a Sunday at lunch time, and this place was pretty dead. The menu is large, which is good and bad (too much to pick from). Our waitress was really good about filling beverages and taking orders. We ordered a huge sampler appetizer platter that could have fed us alone. The cheese sticks had like zero cheese in it and the fries mushrooms were all breaking. The food too a very long time to come out. I didn't really mind, but I was wondering what the deal was.  I drank about four glasses of iced tea in the time it took to get out meals.

I ordered a vegetable burrito. It was huge! Seems to be the theme at this place. It was alright but nothing special. My hubby got Italian beef sandwich and he agreed that it was lackluster.

The quantities are huge, so you get a meal to take home in extras, but the quality isn't spectacular.

I think this would be a better place for the nightlife, which I admit I wasn't there to see.

I have to say that the City of Champions is becoming one of my favorites in Joliet when it comes to pub and grub.  The food is good with large portions and their drinks and drink specials are always good.  The only thing bad is that the City of Champions seems to want to be both a bar with pub grub and a restaurant for families.  Sorry, but when I go to what I consider a bar, I really don't want to have families with children around.
