Wasn't too sure about this place, as others have also mentioned. However, the waitress was very pleasant and food was pretty good.

I got the fish n' chips aka waffle fries and a pretty expensive cup of Beef Stew that had two small pieces of beef and about 6 huge chunks of potatoes.  I would have thought this small cup of soup would have been at most $2.00, but it was $3.50!!  That was the most disappointing part of the experience though. The fish was okay, but I wouldn't agree with the "best in town" comments.

My bf got the Reuben, which looked pretty good. He liked it. He also got a pretty good size salad with his meal.

So, two meals, a cup of soup, and two beers cost us $30.45.  Not real cheap considering it's pub food, but the service was friendly and atmosphere was pretty quiet for a Saturday afternoon.

I was looking for a place to have a beer with a friend and catch up, since I hadn't seen her in a while. I yelped for a bit and found out that this place was fairly close so I decided to stop by.
I gotta admit, I was a bit hesitant when I parked there. Not too many cars, and the place looked like a warehouse on the outside...
But I'm glad I went in and decided to stay.
This pub is just the right amount of divey.
The place is narrow, as mentioned here somewhere, but not the way that would make you feel uncomfortable...Lots of tvs playing football, basketball...
The have a patio, but it was cold so I didn't pay much attention to it...

Everyone looked very friendly, and the service was awesome! I felt like if I was there alone I'd have made a lot of friends (since I was with a friend already, we sat at a booth on the corner, kind of isolated from the bar).

The menu looked pretty good, lots of options, so we decided to eat. We opted for the fish and chips and the shepherds pie. Both really really good. I'd be back for that, for sure. Lots of good drink specials too. Cheap beer and shots.
    Worth a try.

    I'm in LOVE.

Clancy's has quickly become my go-to place for mood uplifting drinks and food. It's a place where I feel totally relaxed to just hang out, eat some greasy delicious food and escape from the day.

At first glance of the outside, you might wonder... "Ummm, really? This place passes health codes 'n' stuff?" Well, that's what my fellow diner said anyway. But once you belly up to the bar, grab a dark beer and partake of the awesomeness that is their food, you'll slap yourself for being so damn judgmental.

The food is delicious. They have the best fish 'n' chips and shepherds pie I've had in a long long time. The staff is friendly. They aren't overbearing but engage in a good convo when prompted. It seems like a lot of regulars go here. I hope to obtain that status shortly.

Coming back as soon as possible. *muah*

I love that I don't have to dress up. Its low key, chill, and I can just relax, eat good food and drink strong drinks!! And not blow all my money!! so affordable... Let me start by saying this place burned to the ground in a very suspicious arson fire not more than a couple of years ago.  In the before times (before the arson fire),  Clancy's had really expensive drinks, a regular roster of shifty old smelly drunks, and, from what I remember, the bar closed early every night.  This place has improved dramatically since Jeff Hurlbert and Chad Martin took over as the new owners.  The bar area where the arson fire purportedly started --and where most of the flame/smoke damage occured-- was repaired, polished up, and retrofitted with flatscreen televisions for the customers' viewing pleasure.  The booze shots and food portions are much larger now and the bar stays open until 2am every morning.  Daily drink specials and happy hour prices make an evening bender reasonably affordable (or an all day bender for that matter).  The bartendresses are all beautifully friendly and all do a wonderful job; and the cooks are really good too.  This bar has transformed from a deep, dark, grimy, incredibly depressing hole in the wall where the dregs of society would gather to get sloppy day-drunk and stumble around, slurring their speech, breathing gut-wrenching fumes of stale liquor into your face; into a decent, respectable neighborhood restaurant and bar where all are welcome and treated with respect.  Sure, Clancy's Irish Pub may have burned down a few years ago... but now it's blowing up.

We were tired, dirty and hungry so I let Yelp guide us to a no-fuss lunch in Wheatridge at Clancy's.  I thought we may have come in the wrong door because it felt like we walked into the kitchen with bread racks and mops and ice machines greeting us, but pressed on toward the familiar glow of neon.  We seated ourselves at the bar and were ignored by the waitress/bartender for several minutes.

When finally acknowledged, we ordered two pints of Guinness, Fish and Chips and Shepherd's Pie.  The slacker-goofball bartender in an Irish Pub was too lazy to pour the Guinness right, but I was too tired to be a snob about it.  I could see the cook preparing my Shepherd's Pie in the open "kitchen" by scooping a handful of meat mixture into a bowl and topping it with a handful of mashed potatoes before putting it into the microwave for several minutes.  Based on the first ten minutes here, I was shocked to enjoy lunch as much as I did.  Perhaps the exhaustion felt in my muscles made it all the way to my tastebuds, or perhaps that first Guinness went right to my head, but that ugly bowl of microwaved food was delicious.  Topped with "brown gravy" and microwaved cheddar cheese served with a side of buttered toast, it looked like crap but it tasted like happy.  The beef mixture was full of big chunks of fresh celery and carrots - no frozen vegetable medley here.  I'm actually eating the leftovers right now, which probably explains the 4 star review.... its so good I've almost forgotten how slow and terrible the bartender was.  His Fish was also very tasty, with a crisp, flavorful batter that was not at all greasy.  The recipes here are solid, and the cook that day knew what he was doing.

The service continued to suck, but the food really shined.  I hope when we go back that slacker idiot sext-addict waitress has been replaced with someone more capable.

Clancy's Irish Pub is in a prefabricated steel building it shares with some industrialish retail businesses, a pot dispensary, and a poorly maintained parking lot. This is a true neighborhood dive. Walk inside and past a bread rack and some random stuff on the floor and you'll find a couple of rooms with tables, a long bar, and every free glowing, rotating, or pulsing decor-advertisement gifted by beer and spirit companies ever sent. This is the kind of bar that decorates every year for Christmas with a wreath sent by Budweiser.

I had a Blue Moon or three and some potato skins. Interestingly, the potato skins came out on a long white rectangular plate the likes of which you'd see at any business with the word "bistro" in its name with a ramekin of sour cream. And holy crap, they were good -- loaded with a generous supply of bacon, lots of cheese, and an ample serving of sour cream.

If you're going to go to the neighborhood bar and pig out, you might as well do it well. And that you can at Clancy's.

Clancy's is the place to be if you're looking for a fun, casual neighborhood bar that isn't going out of its way to try harder than every other bar to be the trendiest spot out there.

During the day, Clancy's is a family-friendly establishment catering to older folks and people with kids. After dark, though, the place comes alive and is an awesome place to have an awesome night out with the guys (or girls). The staff is super friendly, and the owners will bend over backwards to make sure you're happy.

Clancy's serves classic bar food (and some English and Irish favorites) day and night. If you're looking for haute cuisine, you're in the wrong place, and you should probably consult a doctor if you walked into a business with the word "pub" in its name looking for gourmet food. What you WILL get at Clancy's is delicious, classic bar food including huge, delicious burgers, hot wings, and mozzarella sticks, and Irish/English classics like fish and chips, shepherd's pie, and more sausages than you can shake a stick at. That last bit was very phallic. Incidentally, my favorite dish is the "Pride and Joy," an all-beef sausage with a fantastic flavor.

Thursday night is karaoke night, and Clancy's also has trivia nights and live music from time to time, but hanging out at Clancy's is always a blast.

I guess what I'm trying to say is go down to Clancy's with the guys for a mouth full of sausage.

Let's get the not so great out of the way first: The bar area is narrow. NARROW, I say.

On the flipside, the folks that work there are great, the food is tasty, they pour well, and their Thursday night karaoke is great. Since not many folks know about the karaoke (I'm letting you in on the secret because I trust you - just you), so you get to sing a LOT, which is super when you're a karaoke whore such as myself.

They have a sizable outdoor area to sit for a spell, and they have a family of birds that lives over the door. They were going to move it (the nest, not the outdoor area), but when they discovered the baby birds, well, the folks have a heart. It's kind of sweet, really.

PS - It's a dive bar, so don't show up expecting a big pile of fancy.

I come here for the folks that work here/run the place, the regulars that I love to drink with, the food which is damn tasty and the trivia on Wednesday nights!

Who doesn't like a place where everyone knows your name? Where as soon as you walk in, you're handed a cold Strongbow cuz they all know what you drink? And asked if you're going to have the usual to eat (aka fried mushrooms) or ready for some hot Guinness Stew?

Jeff and Chad do a kick ass job of running this place. The prices are damn reasonable and the crowd is always fun!

Clancy's is a nice, little dive bar in my neck of the burbs.  Emphasis on the word "little", but the music is good, crowd is friendly and drinks are decently priced.  Glad to find a bar in Lakewood with some people my own age.  And I can appreciate any place that serves a fried twinkie.

It's a little hard to find, kind tucked away in a shopping center.  Be sure to park near on the north side of the parking lot.

No frills neighborhood Irish pub with some good bar food. We went to hear some live Celtic music (Tuesday's at 7pm as of this writing) and enjoy a few drinks. The beer was cold and fresh and the food we shared (some loaded skins and a bacon grilled cheese) was quite tasty. The service was very friendly and fast as well. Now, this place isn't the swankiest; don't go expecting some LoDo hipster bar, but it is what it is and that = good.

We had a weekday lunch here with a bunch of friends and everyone enjoyed the meal.  We ordered fish and chips, shepherds pie and a variety of sandwiches.  We all enjoyed the meal and your food arrived fast and fresh.  We enjoyed the portion size and the four who hadn't been there before said they would come back again.

We figured there would be large crowds as the St. Patrick's holiday arrives so its nice to celebrate a little early.

    Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew.

If you are a depressed alcoholic, who doesn't believe that you deserve decent food, service, or drinks, then this is the place for you.

I went there on a Saturday afternoon at about 1 PM, (which is probably a large part of my problem), and the place was populated with a handful of fat, drunken hillbillies. Not one to let that get in my way, I sat down and ordered a glass of wine (probably another mistake. In its defense, this doesn't seem like a wine place, though their website advertises they have it, it WAS only $3 though). When it got to my table, it was warm (probably 70-75 degrees. Ew.), and tasted like rotting old vinegar.

I then ordered an appetizer of fried pickles. It was disgusting. Soggy, nasty, oily batter, and so greasy I could hardly eat a couple of them. I set them aside and ordered a reuben with fries and coleslaw, because who can possibly screw that up?   Well, Clancy's, that's who. The 'coleslaw' showed up in a salad dressing cup and was bland as can be. The fries were so oily and soggy, that when I tried to pick up the mustard bottle after eating a couple, it slid right out of my hand from the grease
leftover from the fries.  I think maybe their oil isn't kept at a high enough temp, though their wine definitely is...

The Reuben itself was greasy, salty and bland.

Service was hit or miss. The one guy was really good but the lady that took over seemed clearly bored and disgruntled. She spent half
her time on her cell phone, at the expense of her customers.

I haven't had such a bad dining experience in a long, long time, and I go out to eat probably three times a week. I'm bummed this was so terrible, since I was hoping for a nice neighborhood hangout like some of the other reviews insinuated.

Maybe I just went at the wrong time, or ordered the wrong thing, since it seems like so many people like it there, but you'd have to pay me....a LOT to go back there.  The only thing Irish about this place was the quantity of drunk people sitting around rehashing the past at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon. (I'm 30% Irish, and many of my relatives are recovering alcoholics, so I don't feel bad saying that).

    How depressing.

Being Irish and being a vegetarian don't usually go hand-in-hand, a fact I've come to accept in giving up shepherd's pie and other traditional Irish fare. I stopped into Clancy's yesterday with some friends and was told by the waitress that one of the new owners is vegetarian and soon they will be expanding their menu to include many more veggie items.

I'll definitely be stopping back in a month or so to see if the new menu is available. This rating is just based on the overall pleasant experience I had here, mostly thanks to the friendly, accommodating waitress.

Clacy's knows how to pour a decent Guiness but don't expect one on St. Patrick's Day.  They ran out of it AND they had run out of Corned Beef and cabbage by 8pm.  Helloo!

Also, everytime we have gone there people are sitting at the bar getting plastered while their toddlers are running around the place til very late at night.  Very annoying!

Clancy's is my kind of place - dark, a bit grubby, decorated with every cliched Irish icon known to man, and populated by people that look and sound like they've been drinking for three days solid.

As well as your usual wings, burgers, salads and sandwiches, Clancy's offers steamed mussels, fresh oysters, sausage sandwiches plus Brit  favorites like fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage and Shepherd's Pie. You can also buy meats and cheese from their deli counter. I decided on the Fish and Chips ("Voted Best in Denver by Westword," $8.50) and he ordered the Kerry Burger (1/2 lb burger with grilled green chilis, pepperjack cheese and spicy mayo, $7.25). The F&C were disappointing - three extremely small pieces of blah fish covered in a crust of bland oily batter, accompanied by a handful of bagged fries and a thimble-sized pot of "coleslaw" (basically sweetened shredded cabbage). Really good tartare sauce though. Over all, two stars.

His burger was really decent - nicely chargrilled patty cooked perfectly medium-rare, crisp and fresh lettuce, and remarkably tasty slices of tomato. The pepper was kinda flavorless, but oh well.

I'd go back for drinks and a burger. Fish and Chips? Bleh, no thanks.

3.5 stars but rounded up to 4 because it's just the kind of crappyish  place I enjoy.
