Reasonable bowling alley with reasonable prices.

Good shot on alley, excellent food, nice bar, but Manager Mike is Rude.  He doesn't care about his customers.  He is a bully to his employees.  He is above customer service in his own head.   I have bowled here for years in 2 leagues and will be leaving this house with our league over the way he treated a 74 year old bowler.  He berated him as if he was a child over asking for a pen to write the league a check.  If that was my father he yelled at like that, I would have kicked his fat a$$.   The owners of this bowling alley need to do something about this guy because he must cost them hundreds of customers each season.  I have seen him go off on employees and other customers many times in past, but never an old man from our league.  I could not recommend friends to bowl here because I would be afraid they may have to interact with this loose cannon.  I would recommend the restaurant, the bar and the pro shop.  They are the only redeeming parts of your business.

Friends and I have come here every week. This place is awesome.
The lanes are sooooo much better than brunswick. Everything is actually maintained so well. The ball selection is all right but thats because most people who bowl here have their own gear. Don't know what the shoes are like because I have my own but one friend I come with rents them every week and has no complaints.

The bar. Awesome. I began coming here before I was 21 so obviously I didn't drink. They card hard here. Every person, every cup you ask for there better be an I.D to go with it. When I did become 21 the bartender just laughed and said finally!
Their monthly deals are good. some are better than others but in general the bar plus bowling is a great combination.

Bar + Bowling = Good time

Forgot to mention. Every lane has a T.V (bowling is all digital) Bowlers can pick a theme. So it can be underwater theme, bowling theme, princess theme. Halloween theme. They got a whole bunch. When the T.V is not being used. They have advertisements playing and what not but on nights with basketball, football, or baseball they ALWAYS have the game on. Inside the bar there is a projection of the game on a big screen. That is a HUGE plus

We popped in on Father's day, the kids had been bugging us to go bowling, I checked out the website and dads were free for the day, along with games only being $2 - so off we went.

Pleasantly surprised at the fact that its totally up to date on the technology with bowling, even though its not the chain place... even more pleasantly surprised by the fact that they pop the bumpers by the player (so for us that was great since we were playing with our 3, 8 and 10 yr olds).

The snack shop was okay, enjoyed some of the food (the pizza was awful but the fries and the onion scoops were good).

Only thing I wasn't thrilled with was the fact that the shoes cost $3.75 a pair!  I get that they have to get their money some where, but I didn't see the price posted anywhere and was a little shocked that while I paid $2/per game per person, it was nearly double just to rent the shoes (maybe it's been too long since I went bowling, but that just seems like a lot to me).

All said, we'll probably be back.  We enjoyed the atmosphere and the kids had a lot of fun!

Mark this comment as useful " if you think the fat guy with glasses in the counter is the worst employee you ever came across"......what a bad representative that fact guy if for this otherwise okay place.

We were there with a group for a friend's birthday. All having fun, and then our game was cut short because our time ran out.

I hate this place for charging by the hour instead of letting people finish their game. It was a massive disappointment and a terrible customer experience.

I wish they'd at least pretend to care about customers having a good time, but no, just skinflnts trying to squeeze you for all they can get out of you.

    Never going back.

i only come here on Tuesday nights because from 10pm - 2am, it is 8 dollars per person for unlimited bowling! the service is nice and after the place was redone, it looks even better. they got a pro shop on the far right from the main entrance and a food place on that side also. on the left side there is a sports bar with 1 or 2 pool table inside. they also got like 40+ lanes! i only gave them a 4 star because sometimes the balls will get stuck or the scores will be wrong. other then that, it is a great place to hang out with some friends and have fun!

My sister had bought the groupon here a while back and wanted to go for her birthday. From the outside this place didn't look that great, but the inside was a very pleasant surprise! We had a large group and didn't have an issue getting a lane or drinks. The vibe was very loungey yet laid back. The booth seating was way nicer than other bowling alleys I have been to. They even had a dj, so by the end we were dancing and bowling at the same time! It was a nice change from the typical bar scene, while still being classy and fun. Definitely will be back!

Wow! I didn't know there could be such a happening bowling alley in the area. They have 40+ lanes and they were pretty much all packed. It's a great place to go and hang out. The music isn't too loud but not so soft that it makes silent times awkward. They have a side shop that you are able to purchase snacks. EVERYONE in the bowling alley seemed to be having fun and it was just a great place to spend time with friends.

On a Friday night, it's $3.75/person/game or $15/hour/lane ... As of today, Friday, August 26. I'm sure prices could change at any point in time.

They have a snack shop (independent of the bowling alley) connected to the alley.

I was surprised that they had open lanes on a Friday night. The place was clean. They didn't have the tables that most bowling alleys had. Rather, they had a U-shaped booth which was fairly new.

At the time you start the game, I think you could select a "theme" for the bowling game/scorecards via monitors, if you will.

**NOTE: make sure you pay at or before your 1 hour is up! We had 1.5 games and statistics when we received notice that our time was up. When we went to pay, they restarted and we started all over again (entering names, score of 0 and all)!

**Pay for games and shoe rentals up front before you start the game.

I am quite possibly the worst bowler in the state of Illinois, but I won't let that affect this review. I hadn't been bowling in probably two years before I went to Classic Bowl. This was evident when my friends and I started looking around the city for a place to bowl and I thought to myself, "When the heck did bowling get so frackin' expensive?!"

Luckily, Classic Bowl exists, and their prices are a lot closer to how much I remember bowling used to cost. We went on the Sunday night before Memorial Day and it was packed, but we got a lane quickly. The service was friendly, the building is pretty clean, and the bar has decent drink specials. Had no problems with the lane, except I suspect something was wrong with my score...It never exceeded 100 (someone get that lane checked). All around a good time!

THIS REVIEW IS ONLY REGARDING THE KO SPORTS BAR & LOUNGE/BARTENDER -- (not Classic Bowl as a whole)

I was playing pool at Classic Bowl with a bunch of friends on a Saturday night. Some of my friends were drinking, I was not. After being there for about an hour, the bartender (an old woman resembling a toucan) verbally attacked me asking for my I.D. I asked her why she needed it & she told me because I was 'underage drinking'. I explained to her that I was not drinking at all that night besides a cappuccino that I ordered from the snack shop at the opposite end of the bowling alley. She then told me, "I saw you with a drink in your hand! You are drinking in my bar and if I see you do it again I am calling the cops." I'm not a confrontational person unless I am wrongly accused of something. I fired back, "Call the police. I did not have a drop of alcohol tonight, smell my breath!" She said, "I will not smell your breath, I know what I saw! WATCH IT!!!" She then walked away. Just a small tip for Classic Bowl (KO Sports Bar & Grill), DO NOT put your obviously blind, wrong-accusing, bird-resembling, OLD bartenders on a 10pm Saturday night shift. You will make more money if you hire young attractive people. This woman could have been an ex-convict and she had a nasty raspy smokers voice. Disgusting. I should have called the police so that they could laugh in her face.

My family loves this place. They have a great family deal where you get a lane for 2 hours, shoe rentals for up to 6 & a pizza for $34.95. It's been recently updated & it looks great. The staff is friendly & accommodating.

This place used to be such a dump. It has since been remodeled but the one thing they did not take into consideration is training for their  rude and ignorant staff, especially the manager. I think his name was Mike. He is not only rude but treats his customers with abruptness and made our group feel like he could not be bothered taking our money or was above it. Imagine that in this day and age when many businesses are struggling. I felt like I was in boot camp having orders barked at me while I tried to pay for my bowling game and shoes.  I had to bite my tongue to not tell this man to stick his bowling bowls where the sun don't shine. Not sure if he was having a bad night or if this is how this establishment is used to treating its patrons but I will not be going back for round two. There are plenty of other places to enjoy a night out. If you do try it out, be ready to experience a rude encounter the minute you walk in the door. Once you get past that you might actually enjoy the rest of your night. However, that was not the case for me. Good Luck!!!

I've been here a few times since the remodel with different groups of friends and, no matter who I'm with, we've always had a great time!  Always a good atmosphere for bowling and always good music to jam to while waiting for your turn.  I love that it's never been as packed as the other local bowling alley a few miles away.

I love the fact that they remodeled this place and it's right by my house. It's a good option if we ever wanted some rated 'PG' fun.

Since the remodel, the booths are wider, widescreen tvs are scattered around and the scoring system is easier to work. The alley itself is brighter and also looks cleaner. Specials are offered depending on the night, before and after leagues.

There is also a full bar, a pro shop and also a restaurant that serves burgers and dogs.

I love to bowl!  So much so, that my ball and shoes never leave the trunk of my car.  It's one of my activities that I use to clear my head.  Hell, I once bowled 35 games in one day.

I've been going to Classic for years, and since the renovation, it has gotten better.  The place looks pretty classy (no pun intended) They usually have good deals going on every month. The couches, lights,, and table toppers make for a fun night of bowling.

I've always been fascinated with bowling alleys because of the clientele it attracts. It can bring hardcore bowlers, couples on dates or groups of friends, families chilling at the restaurant and locals having a few drinks at the bar. Its been falling off the map a bit, but bowling alleys have been a neighborhood meeting point for ages and I love observing that eclectic mix. Classic is no exception to this mix.

Classic remodeled in the last year or two so the lanes and scoring systems are up-to-date. They also remodeled there bar which I have to say is quite nice. They always have great drink specials and generally their drinks are cheaper than going to a standard bar. They also have a nice little greasy spoon restaurant that serves hot dogs, burgers, etc.

Many bowling alleys are closing down these days, but of the ones still around and kicking, Classic is my favorite the bunch.

Came here with some friends, had a few drinks and bowled a few sets.  Prices were pretty reasonable, especially at the bar.  The nachos and fried mushrooms weren't spectacular, but they were decent.

Living in Chicago, I wouldn't drive out of my way to come back here again, but it's a nice suburban bowling alley.

Just went here a few hours ago. They totally remodeled everything! It's very nice with lots of new equipment and tvs. Automatic scoring system, so you don't have to worry about counting the pins yourself. The booths were also very comfortable to sit on, except it was weird to have to look across at people you don't know. And there wasn't really that much space, but I guess that's a nice way for people to mingle.. lol

The washroom was also really clean and I like that they don't have paper towels, just a really powerful hand dryer. Eco-friendly bonus!

The price per game depends on the time of the day. It ranges from like $2.25 to $5 a game. There is also Rage Bowling which is $22 per lane for the first hour and then $12 for each additional hour; they also have flashing lights, music, and music videos playing during the Rage Bowling. (The music didn't match up with the music video unless Prince did a remake of Britney's Womanizer)

Thursday night, 10pm-close is Ladies' night so it's 50cents a game!

Shoes cost me $3.75 tonight... wish I had bowling shoes...

They also had lots of signs for leagues, so if you're looking for a bowling league, this place has one. Something like 3 free games a week during the league. Not sure, I've never been part of one.

This place isn't as crowded as Brunswick Zone that's pretty close by. But yeah check it out, there's a full bar there as well as a fast food joint attached. I'm pretty sure they have a Pro Shop and there are plenty of lanes (about 30)

    I likey Classic.

I always liked the idea of bowling but it wasn't until 4 months ago that we started to go every week. It requires very little muscle and smarts to comprehend the rules of bowling (I don't really think there are any) It's relatively easy  and inexpensive(they use to accept competitors coupons for 99 cents games so that was really awesome but now they have their own coupons that they send out to members that are a dollar something per game... I haven't gotten them yet but they shouldn't be that much more..) Sure... I do feel stupid bowling an 80 when the boyfriend is bowling in the 200s but its a great date night activity...

It isn't as crowded as Brunswick Zone (read my review for them!) which is close by and they just renovated the space so it looks grand spankin' new. All the other bowling alleys are pretty raggedy. The people at the front are usually pretty nice but they have their moments... They have a restaurant that you can order food from or they can help you order from Giordanos if you'd like. I think they get a discount from them but remember to tell them to bring plates and napkins...

Without coupons, games can get pretty expensive $5.25 on some days so sign up to get a free game and discounts if you want to give it a try.

I've been here a few times before but I went there last night because some friends were in town. The rates have always been reasonable and it looks like the scoring system has gotten an update with flashy new LCD screens and new animation. The furniture hasn't come in yet, at least that's what the signs posted on the rickety tables and chairs say. The place look as though it's still going through some remodeling. I was excited to see what it would look like, until the racks starting coming down with 9, then 8, then 6, then 3 pins a frame. WTF? You'd think the first thing they'd overhaul would be the pinsetting thingy (I don't work there so I don't need to get technical.) A few times, it's an inconvenience settled by the reset buttons, but when I have to start using my toes to count the number of times, not to mention the fact the hitting the reset button sometimes made things worse. Yeah, it makes me not want to come back. But I probably will, kicking and screaming by the people I know who come here week after week.

This is an okay place to go for a night of bowling. The bowling alley itself is not that great, but has been recently remodled, so it is a bit newer and cleaner now. The rates for shoe rentals and lane usage is pretty reasonable and there is a restaurant inside where they have some good italian beef. Its a good place to hang out at every once in a while, but nothing you're going to want to come to on a daily or weekly basis.
