Had small plates of acorn risotto, spinach, mac & cheese, hash browns. They had a respectable wine/beer selection as well. Servers were attentive, and the environment was pleasant.
The soothing dining experience energy was mildly impinged by what appeared to be some 40s+ singles activity at the bar.
I would gladly go back, having tried the establishment only once.
I like this place. If you aren't sure if you will like it, go for lunch and check it out. I have been for both lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. My husband and I had a nice anniversary dinner here and, while it was pricey, the service and food were very worth it. We had a nice relaxed dinner at a quiet table. We weren't rushed at all, and yes, the martinis are fabulous!
Review Source:I enjoyed the ambience. Â The food was good but not WOW. Â Yes I would go back but it is not my first choice.
The Buffalo Burger was good. Â Typical Bison, the meat was dry but with the sauce and Tomato the sandwich was moist.
The wait staff was slower than I like, I was eating alone, but adequate. Â If I was dinning with someone the wait time would have allowed for conversation.
I had previously given them ONE star from some pretty shabby customer service regarding a Gift Certificate.
However, Â some kind of miracle happened because the "error" was magically corrected and the Gift Certificate has been received.
Thank you to the Management for correcting this and doing the right thing.
Because of this, I amped the star wattage back to 5.
Visited during a business trip and was pleasantly surprised. Â Fort Wayne has a lot of restaurants - some really unique ones, even some chains that are standouts. Â This beats those. Â Good service, nice menu and vegetarian options. Â I wish I liked martinis as they had a separate large menu just for that. Â Maybe next time:)
Review Source:Visited Fort Wayne for a weekend and stopped by Club Soda because it was the only place open to get food later in the evening. Â I had the salmon, which was very good, and my partner had the stuffed chicken which he enjoyed. Â One big downfall was the service. Â The waitress was not attentive, messed up our drink order, ad was far from welcoming.
Review Source:Fort Wayne was a foreign land to my three friends and myself when we stumbled upon Club Soda. We dropped by a bit before closing and were greeted with live jazz music.
We had wine and delicious martinis. The martini menu is pretty extensive, so definitely try one. I was impressed with the screens in the bathrooms and had a conversation with a woman in the bathroom about them. Then my sister went into the restroom and met a woman from our hometown in Michigan. The takeaway, the bathroom is a good place to meet people at Club Soda! Anyways, I really liked this place and would come again.
First of all, love the name. Wish I'd thought of it. The restaurant is located in a chic urban building near headwaters park. Clearly upscale, I slipped past the dress code and was seated on the second floor patio. The setting was great. Â It's incredible how much decor and atmosphere play into a truly fine dining experience. Club Soda has it.
I started with the cold berry soup at my servers insistence. Glad I did. It was a hot day and the berry soup was cool and refreshing. Very good, though a bit sweet. So don't pair it with a white wine. I was drinking brown ale and the ale offset the sweet soup perfectly. Moved on to the filet mignon which was prepared perfectly. The vegetables consisted of honey glazed carrots and cheddar mashers. Both were a bit uninspired, but prepared well.
Finally, the service was impeccable. Jennifer was prompt and attentive without being overbearing. I don't know if the rest of the staff is this good. But I hope so.
Pricey, so be prepared for some sticker shock.
So, I have to say, this review will not tell you anything about the food offered by this establishment. Â I have never eaten here. Â However, I can tell you the atmosphere and the cocktails are delicious! Â I am a Ft. Wayne native, though no longer living there, but if I were, this would be my go-to place for a nicely crafted cocktail. Â My husband and I have been here a few times, two of which we called ahead and booked some space for large groups. Â Both times the staff was friendly, helpful and extremely accommodating! Â We will be back!
Review Source:I think that Club Soda is the only place in Fort Wayne to go to if you are a mixed drink fan. No, they are not cheap, but that is not the point. The point is coming to a place with a beautiful atmosphere and enjoying a well mixed drink.
I have not really eaten here for dinner, so I cannot really comment on their food. What I saw were well plated and promptly delivered dinners.
I had high expectations for Club Soda, and after having been there once, I will go back.
My date and I arrived early for our reservations and grabbed a drink at the bar first. The bar staff lived up to their reputation. My date ordered something purple with lemon zest in a martini glass. It looked absurd, but she liked it. I stuck with a Rob Roy, and the bartender hit it perfectly.
For dinner, I ordered sesame-crusted tuna. (Rare, of course.) I had a harder time picking sides than my main, but ended up going with the white truffle macaroni and cheese. I couldn't resist the idea of it. I made a good decision.
Overall, Club Soda was well worth the visit.
Cool vibe, friendly staff, and on the night I visited, there was a rhythm guitar player in the bar singing sensitive songs. Food was good, but the presentation was a little precious (little chunks of diced tomato surrounding the crab cakes on the outer edge of the plate, same deal with scallion nubs around the seared tuna),
Review Source:I went to Club Soda tonight because my friend Dan Swartz curated a show of Suzanne Galazka's drawings which were being displayed around the restaurant. He is also curating one more show there later in the summer. During the opening they were having $2 beer specials and free appetizers.
My mom and I stayed and are dinner there. I've been there a couple times before. I remember the smoked gouda appetizer being great and also the shrimp cocktail. This time I shared the soup du jour with my mom. It was a black bean and beef soup. It was sooo good that I almost licked the bowl. Do not share that soup, get your own bowl. Â The bread they give you before the meal is addictive. The crust is lightly salted and the butter was sweet which paired perfectly together.
For the main course I ordered the beefsteak caprese salad. The steak was flavored really well. It was a delicious salad choice for summer. We ended up splurging and getting their signature dessert which was a snickers cream pie with an oreo crust. I paired that with a decaf latte which wasn't that good, it tasted watered down. My cocktail of the evening was the peach mojito. When you purchase one of these, $2 of it goes to Francine's Friends which provides mammograms for women around the city.
I left Club Soda feeling like I gained 10 pounds but my taste buds were fully satisfied.
Oh yeah and as a side note, about 9 years ago my mom met Harrison Ford sitting at the bar at Club Soda. He landed in Fort Wayne because they were getting tired. He checked into a hotel and someone recommended Club Soda to him. My mom thanked him for all of the movies he made.
We went to this place because my dad knew the jazz keyboardist that was playing that night...we got a super cozy table in the corner..table was a little small but the perfect gimlet I ordered totally made up for it! We took the suggestion of mostly every review on here and ordered the Smoked Guada Dip..wow! I mean, how can you go wrong with that dish!! Creamy and tasty!
The entertainment was amazing! Great Jazz players who were pretty much jamming the whole night...on occasion they would invite vocalist, guitarist, and other pianist to perform with them through the night.. steller performances!
Back to the food, I ordered the heart of Ribeye which is a cut of meat I have never had...it was perfectly charred and cook just how I liked it! And because I'm such a sucker for truffle I had them add their truffle compound butter which went perfect with the steak! My only complaint was the over-cooked veggies which clearly came out of a freezer bag...this and the thowed out chocolate cake keeped me from giving it 5 stars
The service was great! Food was great! And the entertainment was impeccable! I would highly recommend to check out this place for drinks or even dinner!
So we go in and are not really that impressed, it is cool, but not really Santa Monica cool, we sit down and have some drinks, look at the menu and decide to go. Â Then we decide to at least have appetizers and then go. Â So wonderfully good, the calamari, mmmmm, the crab cakes oddly good, the best I have ever had and Ft Wayne does not even know what ocean means. Â We the stayed for dinner and the whole meal was fantastic. Â Just perfect. mmmmm nom nom nom
Review Source:When anyone asks of places to go in Fort Wayne for entertainment, I'll always suggest Club Soda. I brought along my girlfriend during my first visit and it made me look great! Live jazz, not too loud, the lighting was appropriate...it made us feel "ritzy."
Make sure you check the martini list, even if you don't want one. It's good for a laugh. The gin and tonics were made just right...never bitter/too sour.
Invite me when you go!
Overall a very nice place for downtown Fort Wayne! Â The portions are huge. Â I had the halibut, smoked gouda dip, and chocolate bourbon cake. Â All were great and service was above average. Â They stock a great selection of premium spirits and have an average wine list. Â The noise can be high at peak hours, but note that they also have a band that plays in the bar (so when they're playing it covers the usual din). Â The also offer a small, but quality selection of cigars and you can smoke on the patio.
Review Source:Club Soda markets itself as a big city restaurant in a small town. They are spot on with their marketing. Being from a big city and having travelled all across the country in small and big cities alike, I am always drawn to the kind of atmosphere that Club Soda has perfected. It's in a renovated, historic old building - the food is fabulous and they know how to make cocktails. Who can complain? Not me.
I made reservations for a Friday night and ended up being late - calling them was no problem - the rest of our party was already there so they seated them and let them know we would be late.
I was very happy with the food and the drink menu - the martini menu has all the classic basic martinis plus some of the new, trendy ones like Creamsicles and Appletinis. I loved my French martini. The food was definitely like the food I expect from "New American" cuisine - Maple Leaf Farms duck? Oh yeah. We had a smoked gouda appetizer to share which was cheese heaven. The aforementioned duck was fabulous. Also loved the pine nut wild rice pilaf.
Prices are probably a little spendy for the area, but I am thinking it is a steal when four people can get out of a classy joint like this for $200. Definitely a wonderful experience.
Three words: smoked gouda dip.
At this moment, there is nothing more important for you to do than to stand up, grab your keys and head over to Club Soda for this amazing starter.
The spinach salad is amazing - though I typically have the blue cheese crumbles swapped out for some feta. Club Soda has had some incredible seafood entrees in the past--my all time favorite being their orange roughy that was taken off the menu a year or two ago. During my many visits though, there have been a lot of great meals--stuffed chicken breasts, pasta dishes, steak and seafood.
The ultimate menu item, though, is that smoked gouda dip and the homemade points served alongside it.
The service has been incredible each and every time I've been, and with more seating available than ever before (after a renovation project that added a second-floor open air patio above the now-enclosed first-floor patio), there's no reason to not head over for your next meal.
i go here for the smoked gouda dip and the complimentary bread with garlic infused butter. it is out of this woooorld! the waiters are always super friendly. but my friends and i do notice slight hints of pretension whenever we go here. and the tables are so so so tiny. someone is always knocking over their water glass. its a fun vibe for fort lame though.
Review Source:Holy Gouda this place is good. Doesn't feel like ft wayne. Interior reminds me of loft bars in Dumbo, Downtown LA, and other swanky places. Brick walls, minimalist furnature, Sinatra decorations, and perfect lighting. It is a little pricey for the town; expect to pay almost $10 for a martini. They have jazz bands play regularly and a huge patio. It was fairly dead when I went but the chatty bartender and I had a blast. The clientelle was a little more upscale and a sign on the front foor made me think they try to enforce a dress code. And please try the gouda and spinach dip; it's to die for!
