What a great little gem! Â Was actually headed to a different restaurant in the area and they were doing a private party so the search led us to Cobblestone. Â It was a chilly Sat night but they had plenty of space for 2 whether it was at the bar or a high top table. Â The atmosphere was right with the live musician that wasn't overpoweringly loud. Â You could still have a conversation while he played. Â Amazing player at that!
The food choices are few but cover a variety of entrees. Â Fish, steak, fillet, pasta, burgers, sandwhichs and their famous soup. Â Homemade pita chips for the artichoke dip. Â Fish and done very well with seasonal veggies and horseradish mashed potatoes. Â Def a different flavor but sooooo good. Â The triple choc blondie brownie was so sugary sweet we couldn't finish it all but def hit the spot to end the night. Â
The owner is on site and filling water glasses and playing hostess. Â Such a great little place. Â Can't wait until it is nice outside to enjoy the patio and live music selection in the summer.
In a day an age when overly pretentious menus confuse people with complicated "foodie" words, the Cobblestone grill is a breath of simple air. The place is simple, cozy, and comfy. The bar was hopping when my husband and I happened uponn this place and there was live music going on with a female vocalist and a guitarist. They sounded great. We got right in and their wine list is notable, and fairly priced. I had the chicken florentine, a simple dish of chicken stuffed with ham, fresh spinach and finished with a rich cream sauce. My food was great but the mash potatoes, oh my goodness! The flavor exploded in my mouth and I couldn't help but smile. Horseradish creamy mashed potatoes were a very pleasant surprise on my plate. It was as if they knew I was coming. The prices here are great too and most entrees are under $20. We will definitly be back for some simple, high quality, and fresh food. I think we've found a new favorite. I would defnitly consider this place to be a neigbhorhood gem in Zionsville.
Review Source:Had dinner on the patio there a few weeks back with a friend and enjoyed the experience very much. Charming cobblestone patio tucked in between two buildings. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The menu had lots of variety.
You are even allowed to bring well-mannered dogs to join you on the patio. They will bring treats and a water bowl for your canine companions.
I will definitely be going back before again soon.
I have nothing but positives to say about this place.
1st. It is local. Local owned local run! The atmosphere here is very relaxing and they have a great patio you can sit out at. It is also VERY kid and family friendly.
Now, don't get the wrong idea ... this isn't an Applebees kid friendly. I have never had to deal with screaming children or them running around.
Their food is great. I often get the open faced turkey melt. Their turkey is not shaved turkey from the deli counter it is TURKEY. You would recognize it as a meat ;) I am pretty picky about my meats!
They carry local beers and even better local deserts! I have had pie there that is to DIE for! YUMMM!
Highly recommend!
Well, we tried dinner there(courtesy groupon) and was not impressed at all. The spinach artichoke dip was below average. I had the special which was a fish cooked in a non-existing sauce and was as bland as any white fish can be. My husband ordered the sirloin( I think ) and that tasted fine. The cheesecake was one of the weirdest cheesecakes I have ever had. Although my blueberry martini was very good and so was the sweet cream cinnamon butter that came with the bread.
Having said all that, I hope that it is not how they are on a daily basis. They were pretty overwhelmed that evening with all the groupon's being redeemed and I guess the kitchen and bar was not able to keep up with it. But then again they should have expected that.
Our waitress was definitely nice and apologetic for the service.
I do not think I am going there for dinner/lunch again.
They do a great steak...
Salad was really well done, fresh and light, with good leafy variety.
Wine list is solid, we settled for a Cab-Sav and it did not disappoint.
Atmosphere, we sat in the alley on a cool summer nite... it was top notch.
They have pasta, but I'd stick to the steak. The sauce was overwhelming and as cream sauces go, it was like glue. Needed more oil to help it out and less of it, IMHO
I'm a fan, but know to limit my menu choice.
I wasn't really impressed with Cobblestone's food. Â I ordered the black bean quesadilla which wasn't anything great. Â There was too much feta cheese in it, the black beans weren't spicy, and the salsa it came with was pretty bland (and such a small amount!!).
Some friends at the table got the special of the day which was a blackened salmon ceasar salad which they seemed to enjoy. Â Another item was the walnut chicken salad which was liked. Â A friend got the chicken and goat cheese salad which she said didn't have enough goat cheese. Â
They also messed up one order and by the time it was fixed, the rest of us were already halfway done with our lunches. Â The request had been to put a different dressing on the salad. Â How hard is it to get that right given that there was hardly anyone in the restaurant.
There menu wasn't anything great as far as I'm concerned. Â Maybe they have more "grill" items on the dinner menu which we didn't experience because we went for lunch.
I will say that there menu is pretty reasonably priced. Â I probably won't be heading back there any time soon when I have found food I enjoy so much more at nearby establishments. Â If you like quiche though, I was told their quiche was delicious. Â Today's was a turkey bacon something quiche which I didn't try but I'll take their word on.
Nice decorations, average food. Â We really wanted to like the place since the husband and I are running out of close by weekday dinner locations but service is inattentive at best and we are usually very 'low maintenance', just need prompt service. Â Husband almost called their phone number to get someone's attention to bring us our bill.
Review Source:I've been to Cobblestone 3 times now, twice for brunch and once for dinner. Â I really want to love it, but I've never had friendly service. Â Don't get me wrong, the service was prompt but on all 3 occasions (with different servers) I felt like they would really rather be someplace else. I'm not a high maintenance patron and I don't expect a ton of chit chat, just a smile and a few words. The food is good, but I wouldn't say it's great. To be fair, I'm vegetarian so I can't comment on their meat and seafood dishes. Â I did like the veggie scramble for brunch. Â I had hoped it would be a place where I wanted to be a regular. Â I'm sure I'll be back at some point, but it won't be my "Oh, I can't wait to go back" place.
Review Source:This place was great! I was here about a month ago and was pretty impressed. It was great service and good food but not in a stuffy environment. There was a football game being televised in the bar and the occasional cheer. But between that, there was live music coming from the front of the house. Cobblestone grill just has a nice relaxed atmosphere. As for dinner, I had the Petite Filet and my boyfriend had the Chicken Florentine. Both entrees came with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. I would go back just for the potatoes and broccoli! Yum! We were both very happy with our entrees. And for the price, we will definitely be back. For two entrees, a Stella, and a glass of Riesling, our bill was under $50.
Review Source:Cobblestone Grill has to be one of the best restaurants in the area. Kent and Liz, the owners, run a great business and treat their guests like they're family. I love the location, and they did a great job in creating a relaxing atmosphere. If the weather is nice, I recommend sitting on the patio. The servers are very nice and attentive. My favorite entrees are the Chicken Parmesan, Lime Chicken Fettuccini, and the Black Bean Quesadilla. And when you come to Cobblestone, you absolutely need to try the cheesecake. It's amazing! If you're looking for a new dinner spot or a place to take a date, look no further. You won't be disappointed.
Review Source:Since giving birth, my hubby and I have limited time to ourselves for dates. Â We have become quite picky about how we spend our money and time and less likely to just throw it away on random places and food chains that we have eaten at dozens of times before. Â We are venturing out, looking for quality meals, in relaxing places away from the likes of screaming children or any reminder we became parents. :)
That being said, Cobblestone fits the bill. Â We went Valentine's weekend for our anniversary/V-day dinner. My sister generously babysat for us. Â After perusing reviews, I was able to get a reservation the same day for my preferred time slot of 7 p.m. Â
We luckily scored curbside parking and were kindly greeted by (we assume) the owner, who pleasantly looked up our reservation, grinned and led us to a table tucked away in the back where there were just a couple of other couples near by. Â It was well decorated and charming. Â Quaint and comfortable. Â Very welcoming but also a bit elegant, so you could be more dressed up or be more casual and feel good either way.
Our table was decorated with a white cloth and a single rose. Â Very nice and simple. Â There was a guitarist/singer belting out mellow Dave Matthewsesque tunes in the bar area up front, but it generously floated back to us and we could hear it very well. Â It was not intrusive but also loud enough to enjoy and not interfere with our conversation. Â Not to mention, he was very good, so it provided a good talking piece.
Our waitress was pleasant, explained the menu, gave recommendations and let us know that b/c it was our anniversary, we would be receiving a dessert. Â SCORE! :)
We ordered a bottle of house Cabernet, which was moderately priced and enjoyable. Â We got the shrimp cocktail to start and it was 10 medium sized shrimp for $12. Â It was PERFECT and delicious! Â Definitely enough to share and well priced.
I ordered the 8 ounce prime rib medium and Erich got the ribeye medium rare. Â It came with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Â And, both of us were extremely pleased with our choices!! As I am typing this, I wish I could re-order and devour my meal all over again!
For dessert, we got the carrot cake, which was as outstanding as we had heard previously to visiting and the cheesecake with chocolate chips. Â I am a sucker for chocolate and was very happy with this delectable fabulousness! Â
All in all, one of the best meals I have had in the Indy area for a fantastic price. Â We will definitely go back!! Very pleased with our experience and believe that the owners are doing a fantastic job with their menu and service! Â Love the live music and the overall romantic atmosphere that Cobblestone provides. Â It is a nice "getaway" less than 10 minutes from our condo.
I love the Cobblestone. Â Wonderful little spot in Zionsville. Â Great bar area for drinks. Â The menu is excellent, with some innovative dishes that you may have not have tried before. Â But mostly it is just well prepared meals with great ingredients. Â In the summer, they offer outdoor dining in the adjacent alley, and this is a great romantic spot for dinner. Â Acoustical music is offered on the weekends.
Review Source:Thank goodness a friend of mine invited me to her baby shower at Cobblestone Grill, or I might never had had the idea to go here. It was absolutely fantastic!
Located on Main Street in Zionsville, this interesting restaurant has nestled itself into the most perfect spot. If you've not visited this suburb of Indy, you need to soon.
The Cobblestone Grill has a patio, where you can enjoy a drink, dinner and dessert while listening to live music under the stars. Looking for ideas on what to eat? Try the quiche of the day, always a popular and yummy choice. If you don't like quiche, there's plenty of amazing dishes on this menu ... from crab cakes to portabella mushrooms (two more of my faves).
Those are all on the lunch menu ... along with my fave at dinner, thai shrimp linguini. This dish will tempt the tastebuds and make it very difficult to decide!
Looking for dessert? You seriously could pick any and not go wrong, but I suggest gelato or cheesecake. Or both.
