You want to play darts, pool or listen to some great tunes this your dive bar! Drinks are decently priced and the staff is very nice!
And... If you are single apparently it is the place to go... I wouldn't really know much anymore but I do know of 3 couples who met their better halves at this very place!
The bar is really smoky, you can't tell when you're there but when you get home and your clothes smell like smoke, it hits you. Their bartenders were really nice! We asked for their recommendations and they made us some awesome mixed drinks. The Jamaican Raspberry was really good, its was fruity and tasty but not too much kick. The Four-by-Four has a good amount of liquor in it and it tastes good too! I think its $11 so a little pricey for one drink for me, but if you wanna get drunk without the bitter taste of alcohol then I recommend this. We also got a green apple drink which was good.
They had pool tables which were really fun to play at after having a few drinks. They also have TVs and an electronic darts board. I thought the jukebox was really cool cuz you can search through thousands of songs but its a dollar per song you wanna play which I'd rather spend on alcohol. DON'T GET THE TABLE IN THE BACK! If its right next to the jukebox then you'll regret it. It's so hard to hear anything and can't really get a good view of the tv screens. It was really crowded when I went (cuz it was saturday). You can wear pretty much anything here. There's a ton of different types of people here so come in a tshirt and jeans or wear a dress with some heels, doesn't matter.
I've been to better bars in OKC, not the first place I'll think of when I wanna go out.
This is by far my favorite bar in the entire world! It's small, casual, friendly, and fun! I've been coming here for years and when I moved to Texas, I realized no other place compares. It's a very small bar but the owner and bartenders are very friendly and make you feel at home. The best part about this bar is that you see a wide variety of people here. You see doctors and lawyers, college students, old and young, and every ethnic group you can think of. In the daytime, you see the regulars and can sit down at the bar and talk to them for hours. At night, there's a line to get in and you see a more trendy crowd but you can still see a wide variety of people. Shout out to Mason, the best bartender there!
Review Source:We were on our 2nd day of our cross country road trip that started in California and had been on the road for nearly 15 hours yesterday. Our destination was Oklahoma City. We hit horrible traffic between Clinton and Oklahoma City. Dead stopped on the 40E. My husband was driving so I got on Yelp to find a bar in OKC. Maker's Cigar Lounge would have been cool but they are not open any longer. Saw some good reviews for Cock O The Walk and decided to park our camper in the church parking lot so we could walk a half block and not be far from our bed. I called them before we went in just to make sure we could bring cigars in. Spoke with the General Manager Dustin who was very friendly. We walked in there around 10:30pm and it was packed. Good tunes on the juke box, 2 pool tables, 2 dart boards, sports on the TVs, and stiff drinks. We played pool and realized the kitchen closed at 10 so I asked the bartender a good pizza joint to call for delivery. They suggested the Pizza House. I ordered a large all meat pizza and it was delivered in 30 minutes. Shared it with the bartenders Adam and Corey. This place was fun. Exactly what we needed after a long day on the road. We highly suggest you visit this place very soon! Thanks to Dustin, Corey, and Adam for a great time.
Review Source:This is my favorite bar in the world!! I've been coming here since 2005!! They know how to make a mixed drink, but the draft selection I limited that's the only down fall. The bar staff has always been incredibly friendly and fast. A special shout out to Dusty and Corey you guys rock!!
Review Source:People may call this a dive bar, but I think its a little classier than that, by a smidge. Â Ned's in Tahlequah, Ok is a dive bar. Â This place is well lit and tidy. Â I went with a group of friends on a Friday after a long week and we had a blast. Â That night, the place was full of people just off work trying to get a drink. Â Some looked like lawyers, some looked like office workers, some were students like us, and others were blue collar. Â Loved it. Â There was one bartender when we got there and she was pounding out the orders. Â Didn't get her name, but she "owned" that bar, very efficient. Â We ordered the cheese fries to soak up some alcohol, and they weren't bad. Â
There are a few (maybe 8) tables for 4 or 5 people. Â This place is okay for small groups of 4 or less. Â We pushed two tables together for our group of 10 and when another large group came in, all 8 of them were crowded around the only other remaining table. Â So, I'll say its good for groups if you can get there early. Â
There is parking a block up, across from a church if parking out front is taken. Â My tab for a shot, rum and coke, schooner of beer, two pints was $22. Â I'm pleased.
I'm not a huge fan of sports bars in general, but I popped into this drinking establishment the other day and even though I couldn't get free WiFi, the afternoon bartender was awesome, and what's not to love about hanging out with bar patrons in America who are in the bar to watch UK soccer matches? I'd come back anytime!
Review Source:it is my favorite bar. Â been going since high school. Â yeah, that's right... back in the day they were a bit leaniant. Â then i lived across the street for a couple years after high school.
cock o the walk has changed quite a bit over the years (its been around since my mom was young). Â while it is still a dive bar, you are likely to find many attractive people there on a given night. Â in fact, my profile pic is at cock o the walk. Â and lisa wasn't even the hottest girl there! Â ha, kidding lisa!
as others have mentioned it is super cheap. Â my tab was $180. Â this is insane because $180 at cock of the walk is equivalent to about $600 in dallas money :) Â and that covered a lot of people. Â like, that was drinks all night for 5 people and at least three rounds of shots and i drank at least 12 absolut/tonics. Â in fact, if you for any reason feel the need to buy drinks all night.... as i did friday.... cock of the walk is an excellent place to do that. Â even though i knew it was cheap i was expecting at the very least $300.... i mean we drank a LOT. Â never been so happy to see a $180 tab!
anyway, the have greasy bar food that is pretty good. Â sports on the bigscreen if needed, a touch tunes jukebox (or the okc equivalent), darts, smoking, pool, small bathrooms, and loose women (i didn't actually get to test that last theory because i was with girl friends but i'm confident this is true).
this is clearly my type of place.
OKC what up! The 'Cock' is a nice little dive bar nestled off Western. It has fantastic signage out front, a great name and logo, and it was smokey as hell, with much better looking people than I expected :-)
Stopped in for a quick honest Tullamore Dew and a t-shirt, and i was off. If I get back to OKC I am down, maybe stay a couple days and fight off a hungover or nine.
Thanks to the lovely bartender at Maker's Cigar lounge we decided we must get a cab and come to Cock o the Walk. Â First off, I love a dive bar. Â Second, I love when bars have the word Cock in the name...for obvious reasons. hehe
YESSS this is what I am talking about. Â Large U shaped bar in the middle of the room and tables also scattered about. Â The bartender was a goddess of alcohol provisions...she made strong drinks and once she noticed I was squeezing the lime into my drink she started doing it for me. Â I assume there was a jukebox - it started out mostly country but by the end of the night I was hearing booty shakers too. Â The crowd was all over the place...youngsters, elders, dressed up ladies, dressed down rednecks, cougars, hot boys, and even some gay peeps up in the club! Â I love a bar where all ages and types can come and chill out with some stout drinks and have fun. Â And you can smoke inside which makes the dive bar ambiance pretty much complete in my world. Â Only one bad thing in this whole joint was the one seater bathroom.
The kicker and the reason for the 5 star rating: after drinking probably 7 or 8 vodka sodas (don't judge me, I'm Scotch-Irish damn it) my tab came: it was $20. Â Holy Lord I would DEFINITELY be here every weekend if I lived in OKC. Â I still can't believe my tab was that low. Â Can I get a HELL YEAH?!
I'm admittedly not much of a drinker but I've been to the CotW on several occasions and it is, like others have said, nicer on the inside than it appears on the outside. "Nice" is subjective though so don't have your expectations too high. It is indeed a smoking bar so you'll be stepping outside for frequent gasps of fresh air if you don't smoke- it can get pretty thick inside. Whenever I've been (happy hour time), there's always a crowd and I hear it's quite the neighborhood hot spot later in the evenings. I also hear the food items doused with chili are quite good and you can get these enormous tankards of beer. A pool table and dart boards are available. Parking can be iffy so, like another reviewer suggested, parking a little bit down the street is recommended. Probably a solid three star bar but, because my sense of humor is really base and juvenile, I get limitless joke mileage out of the name so that makes me happy and earns this place a fourth star.
Review Source:I'm a fan. Draft beer, decent bottle selection and they pour a stiff drink if you're into that kind of thing. They have a good happy hour special that ends at 7 pm (bar time folks). Two pool tables, an expensive internet jukebox (but you can play anything you like), two electronic dart boards and a Golden Tee (or maybe that bowling game). You can have your own personal bar Olympics there if you'd like.
It's a smoking bar. Thats a bummer but I just won't wear my wool sweater next time. The bartenders are friendly and welcoming to new 'regulars'. I tend to hit this place at happy hour but on the occasions when I've hit it after 10 on a Friday or Saturday night you sometimes have to wait to get in.
You have to know what you are doing to park there, so I'll let you in on the secret. If all the spots on the street are full then head north one block across from the Euro Auto mechanic, the church parking lot. It's lit, there is always room and it's not too much of a walk from there.
They serve food too. I stick to the burgers, nothing fancy, hot and juicy. The rest looks good and fatty, not 5 star but would you eat at a place with "the other word for a rooster" in it's name and expect more? No pitchers of beer but they will sell you what we used to call a Schooner full of domestic, which is close to your own personal pitcher.
