Coco's Famous Deep Fried Lobster

Wow. I am just so amazed at how AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS this place is. I know many have seen my reviews of complaining that most soul food places dont fit my standards but this place is 100%!!! im not kidding. Lobster is so succulent and tender and so is the shrimp and perch!! MACARONI AND CHEESE IS SOME OF THE BEST I EVER HAD! Greens , cabbage and cornbread are great. Fries as well too(plus they are battered) i will come here everytime i pass this place.

Preggers Amy was dying for collards; coco's are as good as my mother in law from Alabama's. the Mac and cheese is just right. The price is for the quality of the product not the ambiance so be prepared. Coco's as soon as I loose my baby weight I will be back!

I've been sick, so my food cravings and my appetite for food have been all out of sorts. So this review probably should be updated once I am back to normal and my taste buds  are fully functioning.

So I returned to work on Thursday, when I thought I was over the sickness that has been going around. I hadn't had real food in a couple of days, because my throat hurt so badly I was only able to drink water and meekly eat bananas.

New guy at work wanted to go get Coco's. I didn't really want to leave my desk, but I asked if he would bring me some stuff back. He did, and it was incredible. Once again, not sure if this had anything to do with the fact that I was starving or if it really is that good.

Here's what I got:

Fried Shrimp - These suckers were huge. And delicious. And the batter was crispy crunchy. The sauce that accompanied it was grooood. Sort of like cocktail sauce, sort of like vinegar, sort of like peach juice, sort of like bbq sauce? I can't explain it, and maybe this was because my taste buds are all weird right now. Who knows, the sauce that came with it could have been just straight up ketchup and I am just totally off my rocker here.

Mac and Cheese - This isn't fooling around. Really good, but maybe not for every one. Guessing there's an egg in the mix, as it was pretty custard-y. Good crust on top though, and dang tasty.

Sweet Potatoes - Sweet potatoes are sweet, and then they add more sweet on top. This is fine with me, because I just saved it for dessert and pretended that it was some sort of strange crustless sweet potato cobbler.

This all came with cornbread and it was devoured in 2 minutes.

Only complaint? 15 bucks is a little steep for lunch, and I can't afford to pay that much for lunch every day. Of course, this is probably for the best, as if I ate like this every day I would surely weigh 400 pounds.
