Food is good if you're looking for a quick burger & fries or whatever. Â They got the crinkle cut fries, love those. The building is only a drive-thru, no sit down restaurant. Â It has a drive-thru lane on each side though, and a sign when pulling in that says "for faster service go to the shorter line". Â So instinctively, I did. Â Well that day the shorter line was on the left side, and I was by myself. Â With the building being on my right at this point, when I drove up to pay, I had to get out of the car and walk around to the window. Â I felt kinda silly doing that. Â I wasn't thinking about my access to the window, I was just thinking I wanted to get in and out and go to the shorter line. Â No big deal, whatever.
I also feel the menu is very cumbersome. Â It's not like other fast food places where you can review the menu before getting up to the speaker so you can be ready to tell them what you want. Â The minute you're at the menu, you better be ready to order. Â And the menu is just a giant jumble, hard to decipher what's what and order quickly. Â Originally being from NJ, I've never really heard of Cook-Out before until we started our move to NC so I was unfamiliar with their menu, and felt put on the spot when they asked what I wanted and I had no idea what they sold, aside from burgers and dogs and fries. Â
I do enjoy their food though, and I know they have other locations that are sit down. Â So I figure I'll hit up one of those locations or just check their website before I head over there so I'm prepared to order.
