Found out about Cooter Browns from a Coworker. Gotta say, love the casual atmosphere of the place, cheap food and very reasonable drink prices. Lots of things to occupy yourself with - pool tables, electronic dart machines, Digital Jukebox, and TV's in just about every nook and cranny.
Highly recommended for a local hangout in Altamonte!
Dive bar at it's best!
So they moved from their original location near Mug Shots just a few feet over. Â Now they occupy the corner that used to be an irish bar, that used to be Trizzy's. Â So now it's called the Cooter Brown's plaza.
I come to this bar because it is soooo close to me. Â It has all the makings of a local dive bar: Â pool tables, darts, cigarettes, jukebox, big screen tvs, tee ball, and stiff drinks. Â Along with an eclectic mix of randoms: from college students to the biker crowd. Â It all kind of depends who's controlling the music. The bartenders and waitresses are nice enough!
They've recently added some food, all in the fried variety. Â Their wings are pretty legit, fried hard and crispy. The fried pickles are good too. Â There's pizza and all kinds of other bar foods that go great with a cold brew.
I think a few more trips here and my rating will eventually go up. Â But if you are looking for a new local bar where everybody knows your name... you can start coming here!
Cooter Brown's combines dining with entertainment in a casual atmosphere. Dim lights, dark wood tables, neon signs, video games, karaoke, live music and satellite TV's makes this a place to hang and enjoy hearty American cuisine. They offer a wide variety of appetizers, salads, wings, sandwiches and burgers. All burgers come with fries. They have a full bar with domestic and imported liqueurs, liquors, wines and beers.
Great place if you are new to drinking and want to fight. Police are waiting out front to help you get to Seminole County.... At least there are other bars within walking distance....
