Great brunch on Sundays comes with a complimentary drink! Totally pub status which I love. Seriously good french onion soup (which is hard to find these days) the house made bloody mary mix is amazing! They are also known for their chowder too! Def. a good spot to get your grub a lub on.
Review Source:I love this place :)
I'm a vegetarian and you'd think I'd be pretty uncomfortable at a pub that has (you guessed it) pub food.
On the contrary! Â The Corner Pug has a handful of vegetarian-friendly dishes that are impeccable.
I've honestly NEVER had a bad dish here - any veggies are always perfectly cooked and seasoned. Â I've had a few dishes here - from the Mac and Cheese (totally inspired, the kind you dream about), to a Portobello Sandwich, to their Zen Burger. Â Their waffle fries are to die for. Â Seriously, I've never had a bad dish at the Pug.
As far as drinks, they have a really good selection, what with being a pub.  I tend to get wine when I come here.  For dessert - there's only one dessert one ought to get:  the Crème brûlée.  It's absolute perfection at the Pug. Â
The only downside is that I've found a few of the female members of the wait staff can be pretty unfriendly. Â But I can deal, as long as I get my yummy food.
All things considered, this is a great place to get delicious, hot, hearty food that feeds your soul without being gout-inducing.
The Pug photos are adorable. Â If you haven't yet been to the Pug, it's time.
My daughter, husband and I went for dinner on a Friday night. We have driven by many times and were excited to try it based on reviews I've read. My daughter had the meatloaf, which she said was very good. My husband tasted it and agreed it was good. Unfortunately, the dinners he and I got were sub-par. I tried the pot roast, which tasted like it had been sitting around for days. It was dried out and tasted old. The vegetables that came with it were good, however. My husband tried the surf and turf special. The surf was a couple of deep fried scallops. He was unaware the seafood would be deep fried and that certainly would have made him think twice about ordering it. The beef was average. No special flavor and it didn't seem to be what we consider filet mignon, although it was advertised as such. The only bright side to our dinners were the beer and wine we ordered. Luckily, I had a Groupon which saved us $15. That is the only redeeming factor about our dinner. I really wanted it to be better; perhaps it was a bad night for the restaurant. We enjoyed the ambiance inside. Unfortunately, I do not plan to go back. There are many other restaurants in West Hartford that I prefer.
