The food was great, the service was awful. Our friends had arrived before us and when we sat down with them, it was at least 5 minutes before the server appeared to take our drink order and our friends were already waiting for their drinks to arrive. When the server did bring theirs, she promptly blamed the delay on the bartenders. I over looked that comment but I know from being in the business for 16 years, you take responsibility, you do not try to pass it off as someone else's fault. We ordered our drinks when our friend's drinks arrived. After almost 10 minutes, I see our drinks sitting at the service bar and our server then comes and brings the drinks over and AGAIN blames the bartenders. As I sipped my bellini, it was room temperature, which tells me, the server was overwhelmed and couldn't get our drinks, which also means your manager on duty was not paying attention either. Â Our friends ordered a bottle of wine and instead of going around the table to pour a taste for the host, she reached across to pour and spilled the wine onto the table and continued to pour from that one spot so we all had to pass our glasses over while myself and the other lady at the table not only had to move our settings to make room but also had her arms in our face while she poured which stopped our conversation. The server picked up glasses from the rim, our food was auctioned off when it came and at the end, the server then said the restaurant was short staffed. I could mention more errors, but I hope this warrants retraining of your staff and management to be more involved.
I find this very disappointing and an unacceptable experience to have had at Cucina on Palm Beach, especially one that use to have a good reputation not only for food, but service as well. I will not return to your establishment and pay the higher prices, and have low level service. It was a disappointing night that should not have happened at Cucina.
Atmosphere is better than the food served. Â Its a great place to sit & people watch...unfortunately after having dinner & dessert we were rushed out of our table so that they can serve a 5 top. Â Very Very unproffesional. Â Â
Its an "italian" restaurant, so let's start with training the wait staff to pronounce the plates correctly & not botch  up the names.  Awful. Wait staff isn't on point. I would definitely expect more from a swanky PB restaurant.
Their Sauce or "gravy" as they call it  is missing something. Bread pudding was more like a soggy Blueberry muffin.
never again !! amateur cuisine and very poor management from owners !!
food is poor and sloppy! i sent an email to their attention regarding the experience i had and never heard back! do they care? yes they do only for our money! never again! don't be fooled! there are way too many options for good italian food elsewhere! don't know how they can be in business!
The food was ok, but the main reason we chose this restaurant is because the reviews said they played music after dinner. Â Yes, they play music, but it's not diverse, especially for South Florida. Â No reggaeton, no soca, played 2 reggae songs, at my request-One was allowed to be rudely interrupted by another customer. Â The manager basically catered to one group of customers. Diversity is key. Â Cucina failed miserably. Happy birthday to me! SMH! Â If u want to have a good time, with dinner & a diverse music selection, go to Clematis street restaurants/bars or City Place. Â Other than that, head to Brickell Village, in Miami.
Review Source:I had a great evening ! I thought the food was fresh, creative and delicious. The weather was great so the front of the restaurant was opened up to the outdoor seating so we got to enjoy the outdoor weather. I The service was appropriately pleasant and attentive. The restrooms and dining area were nice and clean. The tables seemed to be occupied by happy faces with families and groups having fun. I would have liked to seize control of the music selection - but it wasn't the worst. I look forward to going back.
Review Source:This is a review of the restaurant for lunch, not the nightlife. Stumbled upon this place driving down from the Breakers. What a great find. I had the shrimp and zucchini salad and an iced tea. Simplicity at it's absolute best. Loved the grilled shrimp, paper thin sliced zucchini, perfectly cooked asparagus, and subtlety of the lemonette. The entire menu looked equally appetizing, packed with fresh and healthy options. Price point was just right. Cozy outdoor seating. Warm and inviting atmosphere. Definitely enjoyed our time there.
Review Source:I love Cucina whether it is for brunch, lunch, or dinner!
I find the wait staff, bartenders, and managers to be very friendly and helpful i.e. let them suggest what I should try be it a meal or drink. I don't eat dairy wheat or gluten so sometimes going out to eat can be difficult but they make it easy! They also buy a lot of their foods locally which I adore!
The nightlife is the best on the island and always a mixed great crowd. The best two bartenders in my opinions are hands down Chris and Erika they're attentive, friendly, speedy, and remember what you drink! Love it!
The bottom line is this place really needs to be reviewed in two categories: one is dinner for which it's really pretty average and two, nightlife for which it is probably the best scene in palm beach. Â I've been going for drinks there for years and have always loved the scene and energy (though not the attitude from the bar staff to some of the patrons)-there is definitely no where like it in Palm Beach. Â Had dinner there last night and again, just didn't really enjoy it. Â The noise makes it really tough to have any kind of conversation and our order was mangled pretty badly by our server (probably because she couldn't hear us). Â Once the food got there (in piece meal), it was just ok. Â Caesar Salad and the Cucina Salad were both pretty bland and I thought the chicken parm lacked a little flavor as well (adding salt helped just a bit). Â The ravioli were probably the best thing we tried, but again, nothing spectacular. Â The Italian wines on the list were ok, but the California selections were actually pretty good.
Overall, I'd skip it for dinner if you have other options (reservations anywhere in Palm Beach can be tough "in season", but I wouldn't miss the late night scene as on Friday and Saturday nights, it's really as good as you can get in the area.
A lot of people have been reviewing about the bar/nightlife part of it. I came for lunch w partner in crime and his dad. Came from S. beach and decided to drive up north and get away and try something different. I thought the lunch was great. I picked this place out of 3-4 restaurants on the same street because of the reviews. I am writing this months after I went so sorry I wont know the exact names. But if your in the area and want a casual cafe healthy yummy lunch I recommend this. I remember the fries because I love fries and they were amazing and fresh. I had a chicken wrap from the specials menu and it was yummy and the wrap was not soggy which is rare to find. i saw someone at the table next to us order a burger and OMG it looked sooo good but the rest of my party ordered salads and i felt guilty, but was def. pleased w/my wrap n fries. one got a salad w shrimp i think and both of them enjoyed their salads. Next time I decide to drive to Palm beach I will eat here. And post pics before I dig in!
Review Source:The most fun place in Palm Beach! Â Great menu. Â My favorite dish is chicken parm with grilled chicken (instead of breaded) over broccoli rabe. Â Not on the menu but they happily make it for me on request. Â At night, they remove all of the tables to transform the restaurant into a club-like scene. Â Tip - retain a table outside and keep ordering drinks. Â Ideal people watching.
Review Source:I will not return during "the season". Â We had an 8:00 reservation on a Sunday night and the restaurant was busy. Â We had to wait 10 mns and were invited to wait at the bar. This is the Palm Beach scene. The place looks nice with a large bar in the center. That's the problem. Many tables including ours was near the bar and we had people standing over our table. I think they overbook on purpose and tell people to go to the bar. Also, while a large party was arriving they sent them to the bar and would seat them until all arrived. As a result, our table was surrounded.
The positive was good food. Try the meatball appetizer it's the best we've had. All in my party enjoyed the entree'. Food alone would get 4 stars.
Service was good but... the white wine glasses are the same as the water glasses. Our waitress poured water in one of the wine glasses. She apologizes and says she'll bring another glass. We thought one filled with wine but she just brought an empty glass and filled it with wine from our bottle.
But....the noise was so loud. Again, I think intentionally to create a "happening" atmosphere. The floor is ceramic tile and walls are hard as well. The sound just bounces around. This alone is a reason to avoid during the season.
been here twice. Â the food is actually very good. Â we were not expecting much as it had transitioned to "night club", but food was still being served. Â the people watching is fantastic. Â our first time there we saw a couple getting so hot, he could have been referred to as "knuckle deep". Â rich kids thinking their hot shit, old people watching young people. Â old men with young women, the people watching is great as is the food.
Review Source:Nice vibe to the place and friendly hostess.  We declined our reserved table out front due to chilly weather and settled for an available two top.  Unfortunately it was next to the computer where the staff entered orders and generated checks and they congregated there.  Our waiter took at least 5 minutes to come to our table and continued to be unattentive the rest of the evening.  We did have an engaging conversation with him after dinner but it was too late then.  He failed to tell me that the fish dish I ordered was almost identical to the salad I ordered to start so I basically had the same salad twice, with the entree  having grilled fish on top and what turned out to be a cold sauce.  It was billed as grilled artichokes and red peppers and listed in the fish section so one would not have assumed it would be cold.  This dish should have been listed in their salad section.  The waiter never materialized the whole time we dined to ask if everything was OK so I did not have an opportunity to express my dissappointment in the entree.  Liked the disco ball and the fact that the place was somewhat lively at 10:30 on  a Sunday night.  Much, much better dining expreince at the Palm Beach Grill across the street the next night despite the fact that we closed the place down at 11pm on a Monday night.
Review Source:One of my favorite places to go to start the night! Tradition seems to be to come here after dinner at about 1130, hang out and have a few drinks before heading to west palm or maybe 251 if it's season. My only small gripe is that I have been a few times when it has been dead, but it is almost always packed Thursday-Sunday nights.
Review Source:Nice place on Palm beach. Medium sized restaurant, with outdoor seating. Nicely decorated. Â Reminds me of an old neighborhood restaurant. Has the ambiance and the laid back feel. Â They start you off with a plate of fresh roasted garlic and oil with italian bread. Â Several appetizers to choose from, the Eggplant is a good choice, Â light and crisph topped with a fresh slightly sweet marinara. Â The fried Calamari is excellent as well. Â Just the right amount of breading. Â The entrees were excellent and portioned perfectly. Â Scallops were could perfectly, Â slightly golden on each side tender and juicy. Â Large selection of wines. Â Overall a great experience. Â Large selection of wines. I will go back.
Review Source:Any place that you have to access via an alleyway flanked by two doors that could potentially open with reckless abandon at any moment must be a great place to eat, right?
Right.
Cucia Dell'arte was just a block over from our WPB hotel (Bradley Park), with a breakfast menu that looked really nice and had good prior Yelp reviews on top of it. Â The distinctly Italian feel of the menu was at odds with the giant disco ball and random art deco pieces strewn about, but we sat on the very edge of the inside dining room, feeling half inside and half outside being just a step above the small patio.
The odd decor quickly took a backseat to the food. Â I had Amore di Cuoco (two eggs over easy, grilled ciabatta, prosciutto, roasted tomatoes, and buffalo mozzarella) and a ($9) side of berries. Â I felt as though I could have been on a Tuscan hillside eating that dish. Â Everything tasted very fresh - nothing seemed pre-made or as though it had been languishing in a fridge or under a lamp. Â Matt had the Imperial "Bennie" (eggs Benedict w/lump crab meat), which was also great, but very rich as the Benedicts tend to be. Â I would have my dish several times a week, for any meal of the day if possible.
I deducted a star for the service. Â While not "bad," it was a bit disorganized. Â I don't think an above average service can take place when the hostess, manager, and server are all sort vaguely attending your table, and yet sort of not, throughout your meal. Â Even so, everyone was friendly. Â Based on the other reviews, it seems like a really fun place for drinks too, but we only had time for the one meal. Â Would love to go again should I ever end up in the area.
I didn't eat here. Â I just came for drinks. Â It was nuts. Â The clientele is a strange juxtaposition of young ladies with giant exposed boobies, and a lot of very old people, some with oxygen tanks. There are people there have nice family dinners, with bachelorette parties dancing between the tables. Â Very very strange. Â Great people watching.
Review Source:The people watching is perfect, the food is just A-OK. The drinks are fun and true to the recipe, meaning they don't skimp and use any high-fructose syrups: a Blueberry mojito really is fresh mint with muddled blueberry's. Lovely for a quiet and romantic spot for sunset drinks, sit on the patio!
Review Source:Hey guys- are you super picky or did you eat at a different place? Â We were there on a Saturday mid afternoon- it was almost empty. Â We had a GREAT lunch/dinner, with two kids. Â All three generations- from grand parents to grand kids left happy. Â Great crab cake, very good pasta with mussels & clams. Â You do however pay for it- entrees around $20 for lunch is at the very top of my acceptable range (for a treat only).
Perhaps we got a better cook, or since it was a dead time of day, more attention, but I think the complainers have got this one very wrong. Â Can't comment on bar scene, but go for the food- at least in the day.
Pretty people serving Pretty Food.....A great spot for dinner or Sunday brunch. Â Get there early to sit in the coveted outdoor tables.....there are only four. Â The food is good but can get a bit pricey. Â After the dinner rush the tables are removed for dancing. Â Can be a great spot for kids but get there early.
Review Source:I went to this place. It was really nice. However, too crowded for a "first date" I was on. Plus, Peyton Manning was not there. Based on every review I've read so far, I was under the impression that Peyton Manning has been there every Saturday night this season, and it's the reason the Colts are currently undefeated for the 2009-2010 season. Oh well. I did see a sign that read "Cucina Loves Hot Moms" when I walked in. That made my night. In fact, I believe the management at Cucina should add a flash intro to their website that says the same thing.
Review Source:My husband had pasta bolognese which was okay, and I had chicken franchese which was tough and devoid of flavor. I asked for some capers and was charged $2.00 extra (What) Â The waiter screwed up my dinner and I was offered a free dessert but I was not allowed to pick what I wanted but I was told that I was getting something special, whether I wanted it or not. Â NOT. Too many other choices in PB.
Review Source:There is no better place to people watch on "The Island."
George Clooney, Peyton Manning, Jerry Jones, Mark Cuban...the list goes on. The is the only place to really dance on Palm Beach.
$6 Beers ouch. But you are guaranteed to have a blast on weekends between Christmas and April Fool's.
Love this place they have the best steamed mussles, good place for drinks too, it is a small place on the island that people get togeather often for a drink i think it might be a cougar hang out so be warey for them. Â I know that tons of older men go looking for pretty young ladies here its good almost anynight of the week to eat and have a drink outside one of my fav on the Island for sure!!
Review Source:Cucina is out of control. Absolutely out of control.
I came to Cucina on a Saturday night with 6 fine ladies to celebrate my sister's last months as a bachelorette. We arrived around 9:00 for dinner and our table was put right in the main thoroughfare, making those of us closest to the bar rather uncomfortable. Not good.
The owner, Nick, came over almost immediately and introduced himself (young women in Palm Beach are a rarity) and when we told him it was a bachelorette party, he bought us shots and a ridiculous sign pointing out the bride. One point for Cucina.
First off, this place is EXPENSIVE. I was expecting entrees in the $16-$21 range but it's more like $25-$33. But it turns out the food is pretty amazing, which I wasn't expecting from this weird restaurant/bar/dance club hybrid. I split the Margherita pizza and the salmon and would highly recommend both.
The place is super loud, even when people are still eating. As soon as we finished our dinner they asked if they could take our table away. Yep, that's right. They pull up all of the tables. For a while we were stuck in the corner and there was no room to dance and the place was just way too packed to be fun. After they called my sister to the stage, gave her some cake, and put her in a horrendous wedding dress, we were kind of jonesing to leave. We made our way out to the street and were waiting for a cab when Nick found us and coaxed us back in, promising free drinks. We never saw those drinks, but we did find a much more suitable space to shake it.
Cucina's a bar that is great to visit every once in a while, but I don't think I'd make it a regular hangout. Too expensive, too loud, too many cougars. Still, it earns major brownie points for giving me some serious celebrity sightings for the evening: Drew Barrymore, Justin Long, and Peyton Manning.
The only thing worse than the eardrum-shattering disjointed playlist, $12 shots, $8 marlboro lights, fifteen-minute wait to order, overcrowded bathrooms, and overworked bartenders is the ample supply of 40-year-old men waiting to pounce on naive (young, drunk) Palm Beach girls.
Is a cop always stationed outside? It's a little unsettling.
The food is yummie but the bar scene is way better! Â Filled with everyone you do, and don't, want to see on the island. Â
Anywhere that gives out props (they have maracas), makes a big deal out of birthday's (a homemade sign, complete with your name will be hanging), and gives free pizza to the drunks at closing is a place I will frequent. They also play killer music, even the electric slide.
If you're on your best behavior you may even be able to wrangle a ride from the police (they will actually take you home, not to the clink).
HA... sry, the girl below made me laugh...
Anyways, Cucina is definitely a local hotspot. It became the trendy spot for younger people and locals in the early 2000s. The pizza pesto chicken pizza is good, the salad and wraps are tasty. Decor is different from most other spots in the area but very chill. I remember going with my family (when I was a child) for a cappuccino and croissant or for lunch to grab a tasty chicken caesar wrap. It has completely changed from those memories but now offers an updated approach. A fun place to go every once in awhile and a perk is the free pizza they handout late at night.
One word- Delish!!
The food at Cucina is amazing. Â As a frequent late-night attendee I can say Cucina Dell Arte is the best Italian in Palm Beach. Â During season call for reservations a few days in advance. Â
The menu offers a wide selection of classic and new aged Italian specialties. Â Each day, the chef prepares three lunch specials and three dinner specials aimed to please. Â The soup is prepared fresh daily and always offers a delectable warmth.
Every weekday from 4.30-6.30 pm you can catch a free* happy hour buffet. Â Stuffed with two hot offerings and a mix of hors d'oeuvres, it will set you right for the *price of two cocktails.
Drinks at Cucina will run you $6 for a beer, $10 for a mixed drink or shot, and $12 for a martini. Â Be cautious when offering to buy the next round as it will always exceed $60 bucks plus a tip.
Check it out! Â The Lobster Agnlotto is an amazing pasta dish.
**Tip: Â Dont be shy when approached by the management! Â If you make friends with one of the managers: Nick, Matt, or Xhimena (pronounced Himena) during your meal, you will almost certainly be guaranteed a free dessert...mmmmm
