Recently, we took a vacation to the Tampa area to visit one of my best friends. Â The first place we visited was called the Daiquiri Deck. Â During our trip, we actually visited two different locations. Â
We chose to sit outside on the deck. Â The view was beautiful. Â
On my first visit, I had the strawberry daiquiri. Â It was perfect on this hot day. Â
Because we were hungry, I decided to have the steak and blue cheese salad, and it did not disappoint. Â
On our next visit, I wanted to try a drink that was more fun, so I ordered the Kryptonite, which was electric lemonade, green parrot and grain alcohol. Â
This trip happened to be happy hour, so we got two for the price of one! Â Bargain!
Garrett ordered the calamari as an appetizer. Â It was perfectly seasoned. Â
Being that is was so freakin' hot, I really enjoyed the frozen daiquiris. Â If I was in the area, I'd definitely revisit, especially if it was hot and humid!
Very poor customer service at Daiquiri Deck St Armand's this evening, so much so that previously regular customers will likely not be returning...all because of a mere $3 overcharge that the waitress & manager were very adamant about not resolving.
Background:
My fiancée had completed a survey at Daiquiri Deck St Armand's when we were there last, and in return, received a coupon for 1 free daiquiri.  We attempted to use that this evening, asking for 2 daiquiris (her free one, and one for myself).  It was 2-4-1 happy hour at the time (buy 1 $6 daiquiri & get 1 free, as advertised...cannot purchase just one daiquiri for half price), so the waitress ended up bringing us 4 total daiquiris.
At the end of the meal, we were brought an itemized receipt that included charges for 3 daiquiris @ $3 each. Â Her reasoning was that since they ring up as $3 each, they could only credit 1 of the 4 total daiquiris against the coupon. Â Translation: Â upon our asking for 2 total daiquiris at the beginning, 1 of which being covered by the coupon (i.e. $6 for 1, $0 for the other)...we were brought 4 daiquiris & charged for 3 of them ($9 total).
After the confused waitress sought manager involvement, there was a brief discussion before he then agreed to credit back the $3 extra charge for the one that was not requested (nor drank).
The waitress then brought back a NON-itemized receipt, matching the same total as the first receipt that was brought...the $3 had not been removed that the manager had agreed to credit back. Â When I asked the manager if it was a mistake, he began arguing that since 4 had been brought, we had to be charged for the 1 that was still sitting on the table, even though it had not been ordered.
After a more annoyed discussion, he again agreed to credit back the $3, and I was given another set of receipts that had the $3 removed (but not the tax for that drink...a moot annoyance). Â At this point, the waitress had already walked off before we were even done talking, and the manager proceeded to turn his back on me.
I asked for a "credit" receipt for the full first mistaken amount, and was told by the manager that they would not do that...leaving me with two swipes of my credit card & no evidence that they had credited anything back before swiping the full meal a second time.
I will be checking to make sure the charge is credited back to my card over the next few days. Â Hopefully it was, and this will be the end of the ordeal.
Overall, a very unprofessional experience, and very disappointing business practices from what should be an enjoyable venue. Â All for a mere $3 overcharge.
