My first time at this bar, and it was not an experience I'd like to repeat! Â Though the customers (regulars) are nice enough, the first thing I noticed when I walked in was no one behind the counter! Â Took us nearly 10 minutes to hunt down the bar tender and get drinks ordered. Â Second thing I noticed was that the bar tender, was completely wasted. Â I don't know how she managed to stand up never mind actually serve the alcohol. Â
On our way out the door, my boyfriend stopped to pay. Â Nearly $30 for 2 sodas and 1 draft beer. Â Come to find out she had been giving away free drinks to her friends and charging us the cost. Â It took two phone calls to the owner to get him to do something about it. Â Will not be returning.
Great place to hang out with friends, you can actually have a conversation and not be drowned out by house music. Great music on the jukebox. Has plenty of games to enjoy (Pool, darts, golf, etc) Lots of Great River Brewery beers on tap. They have great bartenders and nice selection of liquor to chose from.
Review Source:The Dam View has a pool table, cheap drinks (cheap pitchers on Tuesday nights), and friendly people and is one of my favorite dive bars when I'm away from home. If you have a bigger budget for beer, they have beer from the Great River Brewery, a locally-brewed product, on tap. They usually draw a mixed crowd of college students and working people.
