Just came back from this place with my mom, walked in, nice bar/resturant vibe, sat in the back where the tables and booths are at, we sat down and started to look at the menue, ( getting a late lunch ) there were some employees on break or something and sat behind my mom, their was this one guy who talked VERY LOUD and was very hard to carry on a conversation , we ordered, Mom got the itailn sub and I got the Irish club, the the loud guy started talking to the guy behind me and it was almost deafening, I sort of wished the employe(s) had their own section but...watever, then our food came out. I absoulutly enjoyed my Irish club was made perfect, My mom like her italian sub to. next time Im going to try the seasoned fries ( $1 more) our waitress freindly and proffesinal , we used a coupon from the entertainment book and kcocked $8 off the bill, not a bad deal, 2 sandwiches and fries and 2 pops + tip = $20 and some change. will I come back , yes I will.
Review Source:I like this place for lunch or happy hour. My boyfriend and I stopped in during an afternoon of Christmas shopping for a quick lunch and a couple of dollar beers. Great value. We both ordered the $5 dollar burger, fries and beer lunch special and also had a another $1 pint after. Not a bad value for a fast, casual lunch. They also have a few TV's, a couple pool tables, and darts for entertainment.
As far as evening entertainment, it's not my favorite place, especially when it seems to switch over to club dooleys. But, it's fun to watch I guess.
I've been here twice, and had a below-average experience on both occasions. I can't really understand the popularity and success this place seems to have, since every time I drive by the parking lot looks full. Maybe the location has something to do with it.
My first visit was with a friend. We stopped in for a couple of beers and sat at the bar. The bar was pretty busy (I think it may have been a weekend) and it took forever to get served. I don't ordinarily mind a small wait for drinks, but we were drinking bottled beers, and there were 2 or 3 bartenders working.
They had a DJ who was playing some pretty obnoxious music, and the beers were a little pricey considering the bar is by no means "upscale." I'm told they have good specials, which might be true, but their regular prices could use some adjusting. We left after a couple beers and were surprised to see another patron being pulled over by the police almost immediately after leaving the parking lot.
I finally returned here last week for a friend's birthday party. It was basically the same story. Parking lot was packed, and there were tons of people inside drinking. It was hard to move around, find seating, or even order drinks. The bathroom was also pretty messy, with trash on the floor and no soap in the dispenser. I know this is probably common for a bar this busy, but no one seemed to be tending to it, even after my second or third visit, and having mentioned to the waitress that the soap was out. We had an okay time, but I don't know if I will be back again.
I've been here twice, and both times this place has been terrible. It's basically a badly-staffed Hooters. The first time we went, our waitress was in a skintight referee's uniform and the top started unzipping without assistance as she served us some of the worst food my wife and I have ever had. My supremely-bland pasta cost $14 and spent about 30 minutes in my stomach. It was the only time that waitress stopped by our table.
I brought a friend back later because they offer NTN (a quiz game), they have a section where each table has its own small TV for that, and we figured if we avoid the food and just have some drinks, it'd be okay. We were wrong. We stood around waiting to be seated for about 15 minutes, tried asking the bartender and got ignored, tried flagging down a waitress and got ignored, finally we flagged down some random-looking dude coming out of the kitchen, who was apparently the manager. When we asked if we could sit in the TV section to play some NTN, he said that the entire section was closed off for a party and they "weren't having trivia that night". (If you've seen NTN before, stores who offer it do so at all times because it's very non-intrusive.) After another 15 minutes of sitting there with our water waiting for a waitress, we left.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, unless it's Fetish Night and your waitress comes with a leash you can yank on to get some service.
Dooleys is one of those places, when you really don't want to drive tooo far from home and you just want to sit there and drink. Anyways that is how it is for me. My girlfriends and I will head to Dooleys for drinks on weeknights sometimes. Fun times meeting people type of place. I would say the service is pretty quick, and I love the hot pepper jack cheese balls. It is one of those places... A chill, watch the TV, catch a buzz, ok-kinda bar. The bar seems to be well-stocked. I am an avid three olive vodka drinker and they always have the many flavors. I know they always have beer specials, but since I don't drink beer I would say the mixed drinks are priced average here.
Review Source:I have been a regular at Dooley's Irish Tavern for a couple years now and I absolutely love this place. Â Dooley's has a great atmosphere and a wonderful staff, complimented by good drink specials and daily themes, including "St. Patty's Day" on the 17th of EVERY month! Â There is everything from karaoke night, to Movie Night, to $2 Mug Night on Sundays, to trivia nights and themed parties during the week. Â They offer $1.00 domestic draughts every day from 11am-8pm and with over 20 beers on tap, you're sure to find something to enjoy. Â One thing I really like is that you NEVER pay cover to get in, not even on the weekend, which is a nice departure from days of the past. Â The waitstaff and bartenders are BEAUTIFUL, friendly and can make some mean drink combinations.
The building itself is accommodating, with plenty of space to sit, play pool or darts, dance, or just hang out...and now they even have an outdoor patio, which is nice for the summer. Â There are plasma TV's everywhere and it is a decent place to watch a game.
The only negative that I can think of is that I was very sad when their regular DJ ("DJ Dirty White") left for another bar in the area. Â I thought that Dooley's should have tried a LOT harder to keep him there. Â He was drawing so many people in, especially on the weekends, with his unique styles and effective way of keeping the bar active. Â NOTHING beat $2 Mug Night Sundays with his "Drunken Trivia All-Stars" format!!! Â I will admit, I have not frequented the bar as much since he left.
However, Dooley's is still a great place to grab a burger, watch a game, enjoy time with friends, or just kick back and watch the "scenery". Â They also have complimentary valet at times, which is nice, since their parking lot can get quite full.
