Anyone who wants to open up a restaurant should try this place out. You'll learn quickly all of the things not to do. Service is incredibly slow. I actual went twice in one day, for lunch and a late night snack. I gave them a pass for lunch because it was somewhat busy but when I got the same slow service at night when it was dead, that's just unacceptable. The only reason I give this place 2 stars is because the food is decent. This place needs to be on Kitchen Impossible or something.
Review Source:Want fast service? Want your server to remember what you ordered? Then don't come here! It took 30 minutes to get two slices of one topping pizza. It then took an additional 20 minutes to get five chicken wings because he forgot we ordered them in the first place. This place has a bad combo of poor service staff and long waits for your food.
Review Source:Okay, I'll admit, I am not a fan of the Canyons Resort (something about the layout, and it just doesn't compare to the other two PC area resorts). But Drafts was so much fun we might have to head back over to Canyons just to eat here!
This is a pretty typical sports bar at a ski area base, but the food was great, and the beer selection is terrific! Â And the setting is very nice, with a great outdoor patio, and big picture windows so you can enjoy the mountain view from every seat.
But enough about the setting, you go here for the food! Â We started with the deep fried pickles (I know, sounds gross, but just try it with a cold beer!). Â Very nice, not overly greasy, and a tasty batter.
Then everyone tried various burgers. Â All were excellent, well cooked on hearty buns, with great toppings (I went for the one with ham, fried egg, and tater tots ... crazy). Â And all came with a great side of truffle fries (even my 7 year old couldn't get enough of the truffle fries, and that's saying something for a young boy!).
Great selection of beers, both on bottle and on tap, including a reasonably wide selection of local Utah favorites.
My  husband and I spent the holiday weekend at The Canyons Resort and had the opportunity to eat at Drafts on two different occasions. Â
The first time was on the night of the 4th. Â We weren't starving but wanted to grab a quick bite to hold us over until the fireworks in Park City. Â My husband and I ordered the Fry-Fecta, and I had high hopes for the 3 different flavored shoestring potatoes. Â Unfortunately, all three flavors tasted of jalapeno, instead of 3 different flavors. Â They were almost too hot to eat. Â The bar was busy and service was really slow, so we didn't even get the opportunity to order something else. Â My daughter ordered the Mac and Cheese and it was great., Â I guess they have a daily special Mac and Cheese, but the waiter didn't know what it was that day, so he just brought our regular. Â The beer and wine was good though!
We ordered a pizza the next night to eat our on the grass. Â I ordered the pizza by phone, and they told me it would be ready in 15 minutes or less. Â I arrived to pick up the pizza in 15 minutes, and it was ready right on time. Â The bartender asked if we needed napkins and wax paper to use as plates and was very helpful. Â We just order a half cheese, half pepperoni pizza and didn't really have an expectations. Â You can't really go wrong with such a normal choice! Â Anyway, the pizza was really, really good! Â The crust was thin and cooked perfectly! Â Even though the pizza was so basic, it tasted FABULOUS! Â The flavor was great! Â I would order this pizza again, in a heartbeat! Â Everything about our second visit was very positive! Â Loved it! Â We will be back!
I visited The Drafts twice last weekend, once for lunch and once for drinks on Saturday night. Â For lunch, the staff was very friendly, and the service was good. However, Saturday night was so awful that I can't give this place more than one star. The service was not good, and several friends chose not to tip, causing the bartender to kick them out of the bar. Â When the rest of us were at our table talking about how it's ridiculous to get asked to leave for not giving a (voluntary) tip, the bartender overheard. Â She for some reason singled out one person, called her a curse word, and kicked her out too! Â Regardless of whether the bartender was mad about not getting a tip or thought the discussion about not tipping was inappropriate, I am appalled that an employee of a business would call a customer a curse word. Â We had only had one shot apiece at this point and decided that no one wanted to stay another minute. Â If you are going to go to The Drafts, I suggest only going for food during the day. It's worth it to take a cab into the Park City main street area in the evening for some more friendly establishments for drinks.
Review Source:Service sucks! The food though is amazing. In my opinion, it is the best place in Park City to get a burger. The pretzel bread was a perfect match for a burger, and they have a massive selection of toppings. Good pizza too. As far as the service is concerned, the whole process is very slow. Not recommended for business lunch, mainly due to the lunch taking more than an hour. Each time Ive been there, drinks dont get refilled like it should either, which is a big pet peeve for me.
Review Source:(Dec 2012) Great stop during a late night. Our waiter was kind and the screens were lit up with sports. I can't speak for the food as we were only having drinks. We were staying in the area and would come here again for the ambiance and drinks but it's nothing incredible so far as I can tell.
Review Source:I've been here twice, once for Monday Night Football with my Utah neighbors and once for lunch during a fine spring ski day at The Canyons Resort.
Monday night: Eight of us sat down at various times and ordered various items from the menu. Our selection included typical football snacks, wing , deep fried mac n' cheese and burgers. It was deep in ski season and the place was rammed but there are tvs everywhere and somehow we all sat together. Atmosphere is good and it was fun meeting the visitors. Food was ok, beers were great and we had a good server. A good time was had by all until we drove home in a blizzard, fortunately we had a designated driver with the right vehicle and we all lived happily ever after.
Lunch: Beautiful morning on the slopes and if you know the Canyons, you really don't want to come back to the base during the day because it can sometimes take you 30 minutes to get back on the better part of the mountain. So you stay up high and there are numerous places that will serve you food and drink and even a waffle house. Today however it was warm and by 12.30 the snow was like rice pudding. We have to leave." Let"s eat at the base" I suggest because even though we live 5 minutes away I want to stay out a little longer.
Drafts is our choice. We grab a table outside and even though it's warm by skiing standards it is probably only about 48F. But we are hardy and we want to sit in the sun. There is a large patio with glass barriers that protect you from the wind without impeding your view. Very nice. We weren't lucky enough to grab the table by the firepit but withe sun and wind protection it was ideal.
We order burgers, fries and sodas and patiently wait.....and wait...and wait. all of a sudden our server arrives with our bill , "I will be your cashier" she declares." But we haven't eaten" says I. "oops"
Another 10 minutes go by and the food comes, it's is well presented and tastes fine. It's a burger, not difficult.
I still like the place but just be patient or stick with beer.
We went there three times during our trip here. The food was great when you can get it. The service was absolutely awful. The servers spent pretty much their entire time in the back chatting and eating. One of our tables waited 30 minutes to be seated and then after nobody came to help their table, they left after another 30 minutes. The service we received when we stayed was still awful. After eating and sitting with empty drinks for 45 minutes, we had to go track someone down from the back to get a bill. We asked to speak to the manager after paying and he made excuses for his staff and said he had not had time to train them or buy them matching t-shirts (what??).
The service is unfortunate because the food and location are great. The service was so bad that it overshadowed any positives this place might have.
We came here a few times throughout our stay at the Canyons. It was one of the affordable places to eat and grab a drink at the resort. We all know how much restaurants at any ski resort charge an arm and a leg for some grub and drinks. They have a decent beer selection. We were pleasantly surprised to see beers over 3% which is a must for us lushes. lol.
The food was average. We ordered jalapeno mac-n-cheese, wings, pork belly sandwich, and some fries. My husband and our friend raved over the wings. I'm not a big wings person and thought they were ok. The rest of the food was alright at the time, not something I would order again. I would come back for the beers though.
Service was decent. We met a few people here and they were nice and friendly. It's a small, cozy bar to grab some drinks, meet people, and watch the game.
We were in Canyons for a week of spring skiing/riding and scouted this spot at Westgate as a good candidate for some apres ski. It wasn't too busy and there was seating outside. So we went in and asked for a table outside.
Things went downhill from there. The server and hostess clear a table and walk inside without saying a word. We weren't sure what to do and because we were in everyone's way, we walk over to the table to sit. Then the hostess comes out to spray down the table. And tosses the food menu our way. Without acknowledging us, or giving us a drink menu. Ok, I know you have beer on tap, so I'm gonna excuse the no drink menu thing. I figure, maybe she's having a bad day. Whatever. The sky is blue, we finished a day on the slopes, and life is good.
We study the menu. And wait. And study the menu some more. And wait. We get no service - not even a 'hi, I'll be right back' or 'hi' or 'yo'. Others in our party join us. And yet we wait. At this point I feel like we are waiting for Godot.
Two servers come out bearing food for other tables. I tried to flag them down grade-school style by raising my hand after they drop off the food, but apparently they have been instructed not to look around for customers that might want something. So they go back inside without seeing me approximately 4 ft away.
After about 20 minutes of this I've had enough and speak to the manager. I told her that it was inappropriate and rude for us to wait without any service or acknowledgement for so long. She says she just got on her shift, and will send someone out, but by this time I'm not hungry or thirsty so I tell her we're leaving.
She begins to tell me about other restaurants at the base I can go to. I tell her there's no need to let me know (I got Yelp on my smartphone, yo!) and that we'll do fine without her advice.
A few people in our group apparently went back the next day (I dunno WHY they would want to spend money at this crappy place) and apparently the service was still slow (although their order was taken more promptly than our prior experience).
The slow service here is truly appalling. And ruined an otherwise favorable impression of Westgate.
I can't give it one start because we didn't get sick or anything, but.... so if that's your criteria....
Just not that good. Â Okay burgers, okay pizza, crappy fries. Â The environment was okay, I'd drink in that physical location but unfortunately the crowd was awful. Â
We live in Park City and understand we get tourists, a lot of them. Â But this was like the worst part of Sundance in a restaurant in February. Â
To be fair I'll probably try again as a watering hole but won't go back for dinner.
Food came out lukewarm... we ordered soups chili and clam chowder and usually soups come out pretty piping hot but these  ones did not. I didn't even need to blow air on it to cool it down. considering the weather out here, you expect the food to warm you up... guess they aren't thinking about that.
jalapeño fried Mac and cheese was so so. a little overwhelming on the sauce. wings were ok. not greasy but again also not hot when it came out. my friends burger was ok he says and the pizza, we ordered pizza and after we already chowed down the wings, soups and etc I had to ask if it was coming out? apparently they forgot because its coming out soon but it's being upgraded to the "larger" size? umm did the pizza grow that much in the oven?
service is slow. it's past 10 here on a Friday night. this place is not packed so I don't understand how it's so slow? and I think the servers here are high or something, they clearly are not paying attention to the plates they are about to clear.
overall it's below average. food is so so but we really didn't have much a choice tonight....
I am so unhappy with my experience at "Drafts" that it has lead me to sign up on Yelp and write this review: In all my dinning experiences, I have never encountered a more incompetent bar tender than Wesley; the man could not even refill an empty beer glass nor take a correct pizza order. My girlfriend and I sat at the bar for 2 and a half hours waiting for our order; and you would think that after spending 2.5 hours to prepare our food they would get it right. Well it was wrong: what we received was a completely different order, and it was at this point, as he refused to admit he was wrong, only to come back with only an insincere apology, when we were left with no other option than to close our tab and leave. Never again will I return to this establishment. This lack of service experienced and exhibited at "Drafts" was nothing short of abysmal. Now it all makes sense why Canyons Resort can not keep a restaurant open for more than two consecutive seasons.
Review Source:Excellent pizza options, no need to build your own with such a great special selection.
We opted for the slopestyle to start, excellent taste profile. Â I rately eat onions and even these chunks tasted good on the pie. Â The artichoke was perfectly finished. Â Although the cheese and pesto sauce tasted great, post meal our leftover slices had a pungent garlic odor, but not noticeable as you eat it. Â Just a warning if younplan on going out afterward
Burgers are a make-your-own menu. Pick the meat (angus, buffalo, chicken, tuna or vegetarian), your roll (pretzel, wheat, gluten free) and then your toppings. I opted for the beef on a pretzel, surfside...finishd with boursin, avocado, and pineapple it was perfect. Â Excellent grill flavor, and the boursin and Pineapple combo was amazing (enough that i'll be making this at home).
Fries are seasoned perfectly with sea salt and dill.
There are some outside tables with firepits or plenty of oversized tv's for the interior if you opt for a hightop around the bar or a table. Â The service is a little slow. Â Friendly, but it took some effort to get the waitets attention and then the manager had to close out our bill.
Of the local options at the Canyons, this is by far the best option for lunch or a
Casual dinner
Poor Service. Â
The hostesses were very nice but that's where the good service stopped. Â
Food was mediocre. Â My wings came out cold and I would've sent them back but I waited almost an hour for them and it was either eat them or eat my left arm. Â
I really wanted to like this place but I when I gave my constructive criticism to the manager he was defensive, mean, and down right rude. Â No need to be mean. Sheeez.
I have spent the last 48 hours living on the bathroom floor in my hotel room! I'm not kidding, this place gave me food poisoning from a burger and it's a bad case.
On a separate charming note, our bartender/waiter apologized for the napkin stuck up his nose while he served us. I can understand a random nose bleed, but take that shite to the bathroom, man.
A friendly yet dirty and sloppy place that I will never return to.
The Tachos are AMAZING! Â This place got pretty crowded during the NFL playoffs. Â I'd like to see what it's like during a regular day. Â BEWARE: My friend tried the Wing challenge and barely made it through 5 wings. Â He was praying to the porcelain God all night. Â I can't really deduct a star since Drafts DID make him sign a waiver to participate. Â Good times!
Review Source:What's more better then a spa treatment after a long day of boarding at Canyons? Tacho's, a burger, and so many draft beers at Drafts is what!
Pick a type of bun - Pretzel, Wheat, Gluten Free, or Protein.
Pick a pattie - Beef, Chicken, Buffalo (say what?), Tuna, or Veggie
Pick your type of burger - This you'll just have to see all the menu options.
I forget the name of the burger I got, but man was it delicious! Apple wood smoked bacon, BBQ Sauce, Pretzel bun, spicy home made concoction, Medium Rare Buffalo. What a combo made in heaven! So large, so juicy, I devoured the bad boy in less then 2 minutes. Stack that burger up with the truffle fries which are thin and crispy, best $12 I've spent! Fill up some more with them tacho's! What's that? Tatter tot nachos? Yah you heard me! How can that NOT BE DELICIOUS? Chili, chives, sour cream, fresh tatter tots. Such a food coma waiting to happen. It was so good, 6 of us ordered 2 plates of them and went to town.
Plenty of beers to choose from. My only complaint is that the place is tiny. Expect to wait a long time if you have a large party and on game days as this is the spot to be in the resort.
For what it is in Utah, I'm going to give it a 5/5!
Three stars now, could be four going forward. Â Burgers are four star now. Â Only small things are holding Drafts back. Â For example, the excellent burgers are served on a small cutting board, nothing really wrong with this except the grease and other run off ends up leaking out on to the table for you to put your arm in. Â The other problem was service. Â More than 10 minutes past and no sign of a server. Â The hostess to her credit realized this and brought water, soon followed by the server. Â Points to the hostess! Â Once the server was on the case things ran fine except for the usual Utah trait of trying to clear the table while someone is still eating! Â
These minor rants aside, the menu allows you to create your burger using several different buns or no bun at all, followed by the protein with a choice of beef, buffalo, chicken or tuna, then on to various toppings. Â Nice concept. Â Burgers were cooked as ordered (rare and medium rare) another strong plus. Â Other items on the menu include pizza, soups and so on. Â Did not try these but the pizza looked really good, we plan to return following the holidays to check this out. Â Park City is weak in the pizza department so a place to grab a good pie would be great! Â Plenty of beers to choose from, at least 10 on tap (I did not really count, could be more) and many bottled to further muddy the choice or rise to the challenge of trying them all!
Looks like outdoor seating is coming soon. Â Overall a good addition to the Canyons base area, a little work on the details and will be a big hit.
I have been here three times. First time thought the burger was good and viewing Ok but over-bearing bartender. Â Second time food Ok but bad service. Â Third and final time, the viewing experience is bad for at least half of the tables, the high tables are in the middle of the restaurant and the low tables are around the outside (Bad Layout). The speakers are directly over your table which is good in theory unless you want to talk to your friends of course. Â The owner kept coming out and turning the volume up so he could hear it in the kitchen as our group and the two tables around us kept asking to have it turned down. Â The manager even admitted he had no power over that. Â As an owner of two restaurants in town I can say this just seems like a new place that still has to work out some bugs I will try again next year and hope for a better experience. Â
ooohh  ya no free parking at the resort so we had to take the people mover up to get there, should be some validation or something to park within a mile of the Drafts.
