I like it. I love it. I don't have anything but great things to say about this place. It was my college hang out and I have since moved back to the east coast. Still searching for anything comparable. I spent way too many hours in the back beer garden of this place. Huge fire pit, huge projector that's always on with sports or movies, back bar that is open on the weekends, tons of space and tables. Can you tell I like beer gardens?

Every night has a new crowd/theme. Live music, live karaoke, dollar beer night!, comedy night...and fishbowls. (Fishbowls races are on every 21 year olds to-do list)

Cool staff, young, friendly. Awesome happy hours, free pizza on fridays.

After reading the other reviews about this place, apparently Nirvana played on their stage back in the day. That's pretty sweet.

Check it out, I hope it becomes your new home away from home.

I'm pretty harsh on most places in Lincoln, but Duffy's is alright in my book. It's a laid-back bar most of the time, although at times it tilts heavily toward the alterna-scene crowd.

The best thing about Duffy's, predictably, is that they serve fish bowls that are actually served in a fish bowl, and are delicious to boot. Awesome. Their downside is that I don't know exactly how strong they are, as it seems I do most of the heavy lifting whenever we get one and never quite feel like I'm getting drunk off of them.

Its nice to know this bar is not insured! if you get injured or fall and break your neck good luck sueing that scum bag! Lincoln is a great town many great bars, its unfortunate you have a lieing sack of garbage running such a popular bar with no insurance!! good luck trying to collect!!

If you can over look the crowd it would be a 5 star bar... Make that 4 I've seen the bathrooms. Beer garden rocks and there is a fire pit out back.

The bar staff was awesome but the customers need to check their attitude at the door. I use to love this place but I can't handle rude customers. It's still worth checking out. Maybe you'll love it, Maybe you won't.

We ended up at Duffy's per a couple of recommendations last Saturday, and even though we planned to do a bit of bar-hopping, we got comfortable here pretty quick (it's hard to give up a table once you have one). I'd definitely say that Duffy's claim to fame (besides the famous bands that have apparently passed through here over the years) are the fishbowl drinks. $15 for a fishbowl of alcohol with multi-colored giant straws? Hello, college bar. You can check out the whole menu here: http://duffyslincoln.com….

Pretty mellow spot to watch a Husker game too... by Lincoln standards, of course. All of that said, I would have considered 4 stars, but Duffy's has definitely crossed the line into more of a dive than a music showcase (restrooms always give it away, and the doors in the women's don't have locks, FYI). Service was good though, and they're cool about people bringing in food, since they weren't serving (read: Yia Yia's pizza, right across the street!) I'd second the qualms about the jukebox. If it hadn't been a game-day, we definitely would have had to keep pumping money into it to keep the bad music at bay.

Duffy's is my home away from home and it's true that they used to have the best jukebox in town. Now they've got one that can play about any song ever recorded and it really diminishes the vibe.

BRING BACK THE OLD JUKEBOX!!!

Or, get a new one and restrict what music can be played. Part of a good bar's identity is the music on the jukebox.

Otherwise, Duffy's is the place to be downtown. Go early and leave early!

This was home away from home way back when, but it was the end of Duffy's for me when new ownership took out the old jukebox. In the few times I've been there since, I've heard "High Enough" by Damn Yankees and "Raining Men." RAINING FRIGGIN MEN PLAYING IN DUFFY'S. A part of me died that day.
The service is so amazingly slow now, too. The new owners have pushed out most of the old bartenders, and with them, any desire I had to go here ever again. RIP, duffy's.

I dig on Duffy's during the week, but on weekends it gets a little too crowded for my liking. Call me crazy, but i kind of prefer not to be knocked in the face by elbows (on second thought, maybe my problem is my height...).

I like it because:
1. Beer garden
2. Beer garden has huge fire pit
3. Beer garden has own bar
4. Happy hour rocks: Two dolla tall boys; dolla fiddy PBR & Old Style draws
5. It's kinda dirty and seedy; the kind of place you go when you want to wallow

You might like it because:
1. Pinball machine
2. Pool table
3. Big screen in beer garden on which to watch football
4. Fishbowls with which to get royally f*cked up with your new best friends

I don't like it because:
1. Girls bathroom is GROSS
2. Super crowded on wknds

Duffy's was the place waay back in the day-- drunken revelers, filthy bathroom stalls, great music, and a flatulent barmaid named Hank. What more could a 20-something hipster want?

Okay, Nirvana played there, too.

I should start by saying that it's been a while since I've been to Duffy's, but hopefully it still rocks as hard as it did back in the day. The beer is cheap, the clientel hip. I saw Rilo Kiley here. That's all I have to say.

Duffy's distinguishes itself from a lot of the other bars on O Street in Lincoln by serving strong cocktails in fishbowls. Spending a night at Duffy's can have the following documented side effects:

- Vomiting
- Increased vocal intensity
- Delusions of Neil Diamond appreciation
- Explosive diarrhea
- Blackout

Ask you doctor if Duffy's is right for you!

"On weekends it is crowded and gay"? On weekends YOU'RE crowded and gay.
Duffy's gets good bands every now and then. They have pretty good drink specials, a pinball machine, and there are lots of tables out back for smokers. Oh and fishbowls, if you're into that. Comedy night can be painful. Unless you know someone who's performing, it's best avoided.
An additional star for the fact that there's a food-order window in the back connected to the gyro place next door.

An old friend of mine complains that the bartenders here make her drinks too strong...well, that's not a problem in my book. I find the bartenders to be friendly and professional, and just as happy to pour you a $1 Old Style than a top-shelf Martini.

You might not like Duffy's unless you know people there. On weekends it is crowded and gay, but on weeknights it is down tempo and cool. Sundays and Wednesdays there are usually rock and roll shows, and Monday is comedy night--so be sure to come by and laugh along with our struggling local comics.

Like an old leather glove, some people find Duffy's to be a warm, snug fit, and others find it to be smelly and stale. It is a familiar type of place, where you can come after work for beer and conversation.
