This place is okay.  If you are going for ambiance in your Indian food eating experience, then this is the place in Lincoln to be.  However, if you are going for flavorful dishes, there are better options in Lincoln.  I've been here multiple times, and the service has always been good, so no complaints there.  The dishes are just bland, which is basically the exact opposite of what I expect.  Even the spicier dishes tend to just have one firey agent and lack that expert blend of exotic spice.  Thus, it is not what I have come to expect from an Indian restaurant and I typically choose to take my business elsewhere.

We ate here a few weeks ago while in Lincoln and it was a pretty good Indian place although what we had didn't really floor me.

The atmosphere and ambiance is really great. Its down at the Haymarket (so parking can be tough) and is very well decorated and romantically lit. There was also someone playing the guitar while we were there for dinner. We were seated quickly which was nice. It wasn't busy, only maybe 5-6 tables and 3-4 servers working.

Service was okay but could have been better, it took about 15-20 minutes for our server to come over to us even for a drink order. The server did not know much about the gluten content of any of their food so she went and asked and it took a while longer for her to get back to us and the response was similar to "I dont think this stuff has any of it".. made me a little nervous.

We ordered and waited about 30 minutes for dinner. She brought us both soup, even though my boyfriend asked for salad, but we didn't say anything. The soup was okay but not great, but that might have been a taste preference, I'd never had Mulligatawny before. When she brought out the meals mine was right but my boyfriends was completely the wrong thing. She noticed as she was putting it in front of him and took both back to the kitchen and it was another 20 minutes before our meals came out..we were quite hungry by this point and I'd downed all my wine for the sake of survival ;)

Regarding food taste the tiki masala he ordered was great, I'd definitely have it again. The chicken saag I ordered was not so good, and it is generally my favorite Indian dish anywhere I've eaten. It was pretty flavorless, but the tiki masala was excellent. Price was affordable for the portion sizes.

Overall, I'm going to give this place another try when I move to Lincoln and try and order some other items and see if the service issue was just a bad night. Seems like reviewers really enjoy this place.

Really good Indian food, reasonable prices, great service, nice ambiance. Best of all, they're not afraid to serve spicy food. The food is on par with Indian food I've had in much larger cities.
