This place is okay.  If you are going for ambiance in your Indian food eating experience, then this is the place in Lincoln to be.  However, if you are going for flavorful dishes, there are better options in Lincoln.  I've been here multiple times, and the service has always been good, so no complaints there.  The dishes are just bland, which is basically the exact opposite of what I expect.  Even the spicier dishes tend to just have one firey agent and lack that expert blend of exotic spice.  Thus, it is not what I have come to expect from an Indian restaurant and I typically choose to take my business elsewhere.

We ate here a few weeks ago while in Lincoln and it was a pretty good Indian place although what we had didn't really floor me.

The atmosphere and ambiance is really great. Its down at the Haymarket (so parking can be tough) and is very well decorated and romantically lit. There was also someone playing the guitar while we were there for dinner. We were seated quickly which was nice. It wasn't busy, only maybe 5-6 tables and 3-4 servers working.

Service was okay but could have been better, it took about 15-20 minutes for our server to come over to us even for a drink order. The server did not know much about the gluten content of any of their food so she went and asked and it took a while longer for her to get back to us and the response was similar to "I dont think this stuff has any of it".. made me a little nervous.

We ordered and waited about 30 minutes for dinner. She brought us both soup, even though my boyfriend asked for salad, but we didn't say anything. The soup was okay but not great, but that might have been a taste preference, I'd never had Mulligatawny before. When she brought out the meals mine was right but my boyfriends was completely the wrong thing. She noticed as she was putting it in front of him and took both back to the kitchen and it was another 20 minutes before our meals came out..we were quite hungry by this point and I'd downed all my wine for the sake of survival ;)

Regarding food taste the tiki masala he ordered was great, I'd definitely have it again. The chicken saag I ordered was not so good, and it is generally my favorite Indian dish anywhere I've eaten. It was pretty flavorless, but the tiki masala was excellent. Price was affordable for the portion sizes.

Overall, I'm going to give this place another try when I move to Lincoln and try and order some other items and see if the service issue was just a bad night. Seems like reviewers really enjoy this place.

Really good Indian food, reasonable prices, great service, nice ambiance. Best of all, they're not afraid to serve spicy food. The food is on par with Indian food I've had in much larger cities.

Yum. Very solid Indian food in an unexpected location.

On a trip to Lincoln a while back, I was fortunate enough to enjoy an incredible meal at The Oven. I'm not surprised this place was as good as it was because Lincoln has some solid restaurants, and this one is no exception! The more I eat Indian food the more I enjoy it, and I wish we had this place in St. Louis.

The service was perfect & our waiter seemed to stop by just the right amount. They have a big by-the-glass wine list as well as cocktails, and I went with a red blend. Since we were starving, we ordered the samosas and vegetable pakoras as appetizers. Both were outstanding, but I loved the potatoes dipped in the lentil batter and fried... the flavors literally exploded with help of the accompanying mint chutney. Order both of these things and you're bound to be happy.

For an entree, I have to recommend the vegetable madras. It's seasonal vegetables and paneer cheese cooked in a spicy coconut-based sauce. Yup, it's as good as it sounds. The chicken tikki was great too, especially when I kept using the mint chutney from the appetizers.

I'm not kidding when I say that every bite was better than the one before during this dinner! After you fill your stomach up, go downstairs for a glass of wine at the Cellar. Really cool place to spend an evening!

We tried the wine cellar in the lower level this week. The bar menu was great - we had the cheese plate, chana masala, and roasted nuts and all were very tasty. We tried the wine tasting machine too and thought that was very fun (although a bit pricey).

My wife ate here again (not really by choice). Again, bland, bland, bland!

How bland? When she came home she told me I could have the leftovers. I heated it up for lunch the next day, had several bites, and promptly dumped it in the trash. How could Indian food taste so completely bland (cooking oil and salt were the predominant flavors)? We will be sticking with Tandoor.

This is not only the best Indian restaurant in Lincoln, it's one of the top two or three restaurants of any kind. I have been eating at The Oven since 2000, and have never had a bad meal.  It's a beautiful room in a nicely restored building in the Haymarket, and they have recently opened a basement wine bar and lounge.

The food and service are both excellent. I have eaten Indian food all over the world, including some of the top places in the UK and the West Coast, and The Oven meets or exceeds any of them.  The cuisine is not Westernized or dumbed-down by any means -- it's just different than a number of other Indian places because the chef is originally from Bhutan, and brings some of those flavors into his specialities, as well as a number of traditional dishes from other regions (Punjab, Hyderabad, Rajasthan). Some of the dishes are (intentionally) Western/Indian fusion, blending the flavors and spices of India with locally-sourced ingredients.

Service has always been very friendly, and servers are great at answering questions about the dishes and wines.

The Oven almost certainly has the best wine list in town, with choices at all price ranges, on up to some really legendary reserve wines from the cellar. It's a good place to just pop in, sit at the bar or lounge and have some wine and snacks.

Favorites? I really love the papadum shrimp appetizer, and the keema paratha (bread stuffed with ground lamb). Favorite main courses: lamb bhuna and chicken bhuna, chicken tikka kadai, and all the korma dishes. And especially a couple of things you simply won't find anywhere else: Thimphu chicken (from Bhutan) and the Bhutanese Specialty.

Prices are higher than most other Indian restaurants, but to me they're worth it. This is a fine-dining restaurant, not a neighborhood curry takeout place. (They do have takeout, of course.) I rarely give any place 5 stars, but I give The Oven my highest recommendation.  I live in California, but visit Nebraska often and almost always head right to The Oven from the airport!

Good food, definitely worth giving a try if you're in the Lincoln area and need to take care of a craving for curry or masala. They have an impressive wine collection. The atmosphere was pleasant and clean and the service was top notch. The food was flavorful and fairly authentic. I would recommend giving The Oven a try next time you're in the mood for affordable, well presented, tasty Indian food.

I went here one afternoon with my fiance and a group of friends. The service was good, as was the atmosphere. I loved the bread and liked my meal. The food was spicier than I'm used to, but I think it's supposed to be. Every single time I took a bite, I had to take another drink of pop! Incidentally, I can tell you that the server was pretty good about constantly re-filling my pop and that the restroom there was very nice. ;) My fiance was not a fan of the food, but he's more of a "meat and potatoes" kind of guy. It was pricier than we had expected. I would recommend going to The Oven during a non-busy time, when you can leisurely sample the bread while waiting for your food and when you're willing to pay a little more to try something different.

Went here for business lunch with colleagues. Food was tasty and suitable for all my American friends at the table. Food was generally on the spicy side especially the lamb. Mulligatawny soup was good although thicker than I expected. As some who grew up on Indian food, it is definitely not home cooking but also not overly rich or creamy like some places tend to be. Tandoori chicken was very good and tender although the chicken pakoras were surprisingly spicy. Also it should be noted that this place does not have a lunch buffet like many Indian restaurants across the country.

Like many others, I was initially pretty sketch about Indian food in Lincoln, NE. And actually, my first experience with The Oven was one of the worst I have ever experienced. However, I'm so glad I gave the place a second shot. This has grown to be one of my Lincoln favorites. The trick is knowing what to order. I'm in love with the Goa Shrimp. The sauce is creamy, coconut-y and subtly spicy. The rice is cooked perfectly and has good flavor. Also, the portions are huge! The atmosphere is romantic and the service satisfactory. Definitely worth a shot.

A lot of people seem to really love this place, but unfortunately that was not my experience.

I like that there's plenty of outdoor seating, so you can people watch in the Haymarket.

The food, in and of itself, is not bad. I myself am not a huge fan of Indian food, but objectively speaking, it's alright. For the most part. I wish I could remember what I got. All I remember is that I had a meat dish, which was good, which came with some kinda disgusting potato side that had way too many pieces of garlic in it.

My worst memory of this place was the service. Not that the service was horrible, but they took so *long.* It was a somewhat busy night, but even so it took an inordinately long time to get our food. Very rarely have I gone in to ask about why it's taken so long to get served, but I did here.

Maybe that's normal here, maybe you just have to wait a while for the food. The prices I remember being a little more than I would have liked to pay, but then again maybe I'm just a cheap mofo.

My first experience with Indian food and I will be back!
We had spinach bread and garlic naan as a bread app.  Main entree's were mixed tandoori grill, kadai gosht and tandoori chicken (probably the best chicken I have had in a long time, so moist and tender). Drinks were very well priced and mixed to perfection (hard to mess up a gin n tonic though, ladies drinks were tasty as well).

I wouldn't say Lincoln is known for its fine cuisines but The Oven puts Us on the map! Great quality an taste of every dish. I always get the chicken tikka madras and the mulligatawny soup! For appetizers I'd suggest the meat samosas, or Indian spinach dip- its out of this world and takes the traditional dish to another level! I'd also suggest getting the garlic naan or onion kulcha! Ah-mazing!!

I thought I already wrote a review of the Oven... hmm. Well here we go [again, maybe].

For years now I've been wanting to try this staple of Lincoln cuisine. Pro included the no wait for lunch on a Thursday afternoon, attentive service, an always-full water glass, and the strange 'glass wall' which allows you to look into the kitchen.

Usually I'll go for a more saucy meal, but this time I opted for Chicken Tikka Naan since it was lunch and this meal came with naan, salad, & soup. I thought it would be a good way to try a bit of everything on my first visit here.

Starting our with the mulligatawny left me excited for the rest of the meal (though I usually like to have naan at the table for the soup course). When the entree arrived though, I was a little perplexed.

The plate (see picture) included a heaping portion of salad, a nice offering of naan, and a small bed of rice topped with 4-5 bits of chicken. I understand that this is a lunch portion, but the ratios seemed a little off.

Still, like a trooper I dove right in. And the take-home message here was... dry.

Get ready for some food blaspheming here... because I had to pour my salad dressing over the chicken and rice to get some flavor lubrication going. A sad day in Indian cuisine for me.

Plus, the staff didn't seem to understand that even though you may be behind a closed door, yelling and loud laughter can still be heard in the dining room. As can loud banging noises. Didn't do too much for the quiet atmosphere.

So come here for the soup and naan, take a look into the kitchen, and scram to somewhere else.

A favorite place to visit when I'm in Lincoln.  All kinds of yummery for veggie types like me, not to mention a decent wine list.  Also impressive - the delicious list of naan options. My only complaint is the service can be disappointingly slow and the prices fairly steep.  Definitely one of the better Haymarket options.

    Excellent Indian place in Lincoln.

The dining room is classy, the food is delicious, the wine list is extensive. If the prices were just a tad lower, I'd give it five stars. Still, this place is a strong four, for me at least.

It's ok. I feel like it is westernized for the area and is super overpriced. I can split a meal with my friends at way better tasting Indian joints and only pay $5 a piece. Well, not in Lincoln, NE--but still.

Service has always been decent but all in all this is not someplace to write home about. Not a place to hate on either. When I crave Indian and Shee-e is closed I come here.

Great food, fast and good service.

I am on a road trip and just stopped in after finding it on yelp

Pistachio Gelato - to die for! Get it.

I am a vegetarian (eating here right now as I type.)  Since the portion sizes are more suited to families or groups, I just got sides of the saag paneer and the vegetable korma with a side of rice and some garlic naan. This is MORE than enough to eat and I will have plenty of left overs.

Everything is pretty great but doesn't compare to my hometown's famous "Bombay House" Indian Cuisine.

Awesome!  The prices are a bit higher than your average buffet spot, but it is soooooo worth it.  Great service.  Great ambiance.  But, most of all, great food.  The problem I have with a non-buffet Indian restaurant, is I don't know what to order, because everything is so good.  The good thing here is that everything is beyond good.  You can throw a dart at the menu and rest assure that you will leave very satisfied.  You won't leave unhappy.

Indian food in Lincoln, Nebraska? Do not pre-judge this place or you will miss out. Throughout my travels I have been to a lot of Indian restaurants - and this is by far the best one I've been to. No kidding.

And this is not Nebraska-fied Indian food. This is the real-deal. The owner is Nepalese and understands most regional cuisine of the sub-continent.

Why is it so good? Because they make it all right there on the premises. Many a morning while grabbing coffee at The Mill you will see the truck pull up and deliver all kinds of fresh ingredients to The Oven. And then the same truck (and other delivery trucks) will pull out the frozen boxes of pre-packaged crap to deliver to the other restaurants! The Oven does it the right way.

If you go to The Oven enough, they will prove that everything is made fresh in-house, because the typical sauces change from day-to-day. For example, they make a great mint chutney. Some days, my wife can handle it. Other days, it is just too spicy. If you're into hot stuff, the vindaloo is a power pack, holy crap. And the heat rating of the vindaloo also depends on the day. I've seen it take some spice lovers down a peg or two.

Another plus is the incredible variety - tandoor, rice specialties, vegetarian dishes, curries, etc. The meats are slow-simmered and tender - my wife didn't like lamb until she had it here. The jasmine rice is light and fluffy - but be careful not to fill up on it! Save some room. And with most dishes you will have enough to take home to enjoy tomorrow.

In addition to the food, The Oven has one of the best wine lists in town. Bring an oenophile with you and have him/her select your bottle for the evening. And then enjoy.

Lastly, I must say this is the best mulligatawny soup in the world. Okay, I don't really know if it's the best in the world but it's incredible. Sometimes I go here for lunch hand just get a big-ass bowl of soup and some bread - it is that good.

What a special treat to have such a good Indian restaurant in Lincoln.

    You are KIDDING ME!!!
Indian food in Lincoln. Check that. Excellent Indian food in Lincoln. Yes! As a matter of fact... HELL yes.
Vegetable Korma was out of this world.
Tandoori Chicken was seasoned very well and tender... yes.. even the white meat was tender.
Lamb Vindaloo had some heat and wonderful flavor that should please most Nebraska beef lovers.
Finally, the Chicken Tikka Madras had a great creamy quality with beautiful depth from roasted spicy peppers of some kind. [be careful not to eat them unless you have a fire extinguisher]

    Just a wonderful place.
FanTAStic wine list as well. From reasonable to almost-indulgent, they have you covered with mostly USA selections.

The Hay Market location is also a big A+.

This is my favorite, "Because I deserve it" place in Lincoln. Although both sites are nice, the experience is greater in the Hay Market. Last time I was there they have an acoustic guitar playing, which somehow I think made my wine taste even better.
Now the food. I have yet to have something I don't like. Almost everytime I get the Saag Meat.....So Yummmy!
The Mulligatawny Soup is so good, get a big bowl of that and some naan is all you need, but don't forget to squeeze your lemon in it. That makes it extra flavorful.
Also last time I tried something new for me, Chana Masala. I can't wait to go back and order that again! It was super fresh and flavorful.
So far all my trips to the Oven have been hits so don't miss out. Get there and try something new, you won't regret it!

I'm no expert on Indian cuisine, but I do love spicy and The Oven socked it to me!  It was cool evening in early September and a table at the outdoor cafe area was a perfect place to eat and watch the world go by.  My service was very good, several different servers made sure I was always attended to properly.

Started off with a kabuli naan.  It was huge, definitely intended for more than one person, and also quite delicious.  For my entree I ordered the Lamb Madras and chose soup for my side.   The Mulligatawny soup I received also hit the spot.  I could have eaten a huge pot of this soup and been completely satisfied at this point.

Finally, my Lamb Madras was served along with a plate of rice.  Upon ordering this my server warned me it was a "very spicy-hot dish" with a definite "are you sure?" look of foreboding - LOL.  Well, she was not kidding.  If you don't like spicy food either ask to have this toned down or plain don't order it.  Wow, this is some kick-ss spicy right here, but like all my other dishes oh-so-good too.  I couldn't finish it all and it was just as delish for lunch the next day!

I will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes at The Oven during future visits to Lincoln.

Definitely one of my favorite places in Lincoln.  I work in the Haymarket and get soup and naan for lunch, and it makes a wonderful meal.  I go in the evenings for their entrees and they are always wonderful (my favorite is the Chicken Madras).

The only complaint I have is that sometimes the waitstaff is not friendly.  They can be a little pretentious and condescending (not all of them, but I've had a couple that have not been particularly warm and inviting).  They also frown on separate checks, and in this day and age...come on!  It happens.  Especially with 20 somethings.  We are not in the life position to be able to pick up an entire tab.  However, These things are not enough to drop my rating.  The Oven is one of my favorite places here in Lincoln.

I don't get the reviews for this place. I am new to town, new to the mid-west in fact, and have never tasted anything like the Indian that is available in Lincoln. I have eaten Indian everywhere from NYC to San Francisco, Iowa City, and Knoxville and I do not understand what is going on here.

Let me be clear: If you don't care about traditional, flavorful Indian food with tender, marinated meats and just want a mild curry, then by all means, check it out.

Main complaints: The meat is always dry. The sauces are always thin and are not as richly seasoned as in typical Indian cuisine. I suspect that they do not marinate the meat prior to cooking, and it also seems that they may not have traditional cooking vessels as well. The rice was also a disappointment in that it was incredibly over cooked (good basmati should not clump together).

Pros: A great atmosphere, that just might be able to cover up the lackluster cuisine served here. If you don't mind the food, great, but don't think about bringing an out-of-towner here to impress them with the cultural diversity of Lincoln.

Although it is a bit of a drive from the city, I suggest The Peacock. It is still not quite there in terms of flavor, but is leaps and bounds above The Oven. Sher-e Punjab is great for takeout downtown.

First off, the Oven has excellent decor and atmosphere - high ceilings and brick walls of the historic Haymarket District; spot lighting on Indian murals; and a view into the kitchen on the way to the powder room, as the Nebraskans seem to call it.

I wanted the food to live up to the decor, but twice I have been disappointed.

The appetizers I had were great - samosas and pakoras were crispy and flavorful (albeit the standard tamarind chutney was peculiarly missing) - but the main dishes were lacking in flavor, depth and complexity (toned down, perchance, for a Midwestern palette?).  I've never had Indian curries that I could call "bland" until now.

I'm now on a quest to find the Indian food that the Indians frequent in Lincoln.

Was this place ever a surprise. I never thought that it would be possible to find a great, authentic Indian restaurant right in the middle of America's heartland. The Oven is a Gem.
The dining area is beautifully decorated in Indian pictures and art. They keep the dining area dimly lit which gives it a more intimate feel.
We started out by ordering the Garlic Nan which was fantastic. For my entree I gave the Chicken Bhuna a whirl. The Curry Sauce was fantastic. It was served with a bowl of steaming rice. The entree included green peppers and Japeleno's that were mouthwatering.
I have always wanted to go to a Cornhusker, Football game in Lincoln and now I know where the Post game dinner will be. This is a must see for anyone traveling through the heart of Nebraska.

Great meal, a true find in the middle of Lincoln Nebraska.  OK so the food isnt 100% authentic, but it is very fresh and very tasty.  The mulligatawny soup wasnt so much a bowl as a VAT, but it had a great lemony flavour.  Naan is small, but very yummy and whatever that sauce is they give you (some sort of chutney) is fabulous.  Samosas are huge and have quite a nice bit of spice to the filling.

The reason I cant bestow 5 stars is that the bathroom situation is really disturbing.  If you cant use the one on the main floor, you have to pick your way down this dim staircase, to this Texas Chainsaw Massacre looking basement where one of the doors in the hall you go through slams behind you with such force you jump about 10 feet. I dont know about you but must I be watching through a crack in the stall and praying no serial killer comes in while I pee?

One of my FAVORITE restaurants in Lincoln. Three things: mulligatawny soup (with extra rice), naan (with extra butter), and kheer. An entire DELICIOUUUUS meal for under ten bucks.

Seriously, you can't go wrong; all the food here is delicious. The spinach/articoke dip is a great appetizer. I've tried a lot of the dishes (before I started my soup/bread/dessert habit) and I've never been disappointed. I always mean to go back to eating an entree each time I go to the oven, but the soup usually wins. The kheer is also another main reason I come. I only wish it came in larger bowls because I can never eat too much kheer. :)

I eat at the Oven all the time. HIGHLY recommended. Plus, it's located in the haymarket and the ambiance is nice. All around, top notch.

I like this place, I really do, and if I could go 3.5 stars rather than 3, I definitely would. The ambiance is good, and the food (quality as well as flavor) is great - no complaints about any of that, so I don't want to deter you from checking this place out if you're craving Indian (as I've been known to do from time to time).

We went family-style (as we are wont to do at Indian places) with the Chicken Tikka Makhani (a tomato/butter-based sauce), the Chicken Madera (a coconut-based sauce) and the Lamb Vindaloo (a red wine-based sauce), all of which were GREAT choices (and are typically staples for me whenever I go Indian). I ended up losing track of which chicken dish was which because they were so similar, but they were still super delicious. The lamb in the vindaloo was very tasty and the sauce was nice and spicy - just how I like it! Add an order of rice and we were happy campers.

Turns out we chose well - our waiter told us that we picked three of his favorite dishes! And after devouring all three, it's no mystery to me why that is...

There are just a few circumstances that require me to give this place a slightly lower rating than some of its other patrons. First, the quantity of naan in a given order is deplorable. 1 piece? Yes, 1 piece! The whole point of naan is to use it to mop up all the leftover sauce from your main dishes, and 3 people cannot easily do that with one piece of naan. So, you end up ordering 2 more pieces, when (in my opinion, and at most Indian restaurants I've been to in my life) they should have just had about that much in one order anyway.

Second, I got straight up corrected on my pronunciation of "makhani". Now, I have had Indian coworkers (and classmates!) for...years, now. And not only that, but I've gone to Indian restaurants with them too many times to count. And not only THAT but I've been with them when they themselves have ordered Chicken Makhani, and they have ALWAYS pronouced it "MAAK-nee" (or something close to that), rather than "maa-KAN-ee". I'm more inclined to trust my Indian coworkers rather than a little white boy from Nebraska. I'm just saying.

All in all, I do think that The Oven is a great place to go for Indian food in Lincoln...but after having been to all of the great Indian places we have in L.A., I realize that I'm a bit spoiled and have high standards(perhaps too high). Despite that, however, am I not entitled to expect correct pronunciation or well-endowed naan orders? Even in Nebraska, I think I am!

The Oven is the perfect restaurant for people who want to pretend they're advanced in the ways of cuisine, but are scared of eating Indian food. The dishes are fancied up and not very good, and the few times I've been here the service hasn't been good. I recall once going when there was a Jazz musician there, playing Jazz music, in an Indian restaurant. Really? Give me some authenticity, some ethnicity.

If you want real Indian food, please go to Sher-E-Punjab or Tandoor or Taj Mahal!

I have been to both locations more than once, and I like them each for different reasons.

    My favorite Oven dishes include:
    - Biryani (any kind)
    - Kabuli Naan
    - Mulligatawny

The Haymarket location has sucky parking, but wonderful atmosphere.  The 70th St. location has ample parking, but it's super dark in there.  Bring a book light for your menu.

This is one of our go-to places.  The atmosphere is nice enough that you can feel comfortable a little dressed up.  Lights are dim and the Indian masks on the walls are a nice change from some of the crap you see on restaurant walls these days.

The wine list is nice, though the prices are high for Lincoln, Neb. standards.  ($6.50 for a glass of wine?)  Food and staff are always very good.  They never take food away too quickly or come by too often which has become an extreme annoyance of mine in certain Lincoln restaurants (Wilderness Ridge, Lazlo's).

I have liked nearly everything that I have eaten here.  The one exception may be the Vindaloo, which was delicious, but just too hot for my poor palate.  You can't really go wrong with the Oven...

The Oven was pretty good, serving standard Indian food in a very pleasant atmosphere. I'm not sure about the other reviews, as this was not the best Indian food I've had, and I would certainly not rank it among the best in the nation, but it was tasty.
The staff was fantastic, they get 5 stars. They accomodated our group of five quickly, and were able to seat us immediately on a busy Saturday evening. Our server was wonderful, she was knowledgeable about the menu, and was there when we needed her, but never intrusive.
The atmosphere was also quite nice. The Oven is in the Haymarket district of Lincoln, which is full of neat old brick buildings, including the one that the restaurant is in. The interior atmosphere was quiet and very beautifully decorated.
And the food.... The entrees come with soup or salad, and on a cold March evening I had the mulligatawny soup, which was probably my favorite part of dinner. Wonderfully spiced with just a little bit of rice, the soup was warming and delicious. I also ordered a Rose Lassi, which was not very flavorful, nothing extraordinary. The Vegetable Pakoras were good, but again, nothing to write home about. We split Vegetable Korma and Saag Paneer for our main course, along with nan and rice. The rice was perfect, subtle but delicious spices, and cooked just right. The nan was also good, I appreciated that it was not oily, but more on the dry side, good for soaking up sauces. The Saag was tasty, and included large pieces of cheese. The Korma was just ok, pretty standard, but without the cheese or cashews that I like.
To summarize- the service and atmosphere get 5 stars, the food gets 4. Well priced with large portions, expect to have leftovers. A nice place, especially when in Nebraska, but perhaps overrated by other reviewers.

This place has excellent food (non-greasy, flavorful bindi masala, tandoori chicken that wasn't dry as a bone, and light fluffy fresh-baked nan...mmmmm!!!) and OMG a wine list TO DIE FOR.  I believe they have been cited as having one of the best wine lists in the entire country, and having seen the list and sampled some of the wines, I absolutely agree.  I live in Northern California, where many good wines come from, and I have yet to see a wine list at ANY local CA restaurant as impressive as The Oven's, and that is saying a lot!

The service was a bit slow when I was there and the place wasn't  busy, but the waitress was nice about it and because the food (and the WINE) was so tasty, I am able to forgive a little time spent waiting.  If I'm ever back in Lincoln I would definitely come to The Oven again!

Hands down, this is the best restaurant in Lincoln.  The food is spectacular, the ambiance is really nice, the wait staff is well trained and very polite.  As Indian is my favorite cuisine, I eat it everywhere I go.  And so far the only Indian food I've had that's better than The Oven is in London.  The Mulligatawny Soup and the Thimpu Chicken are especially wonderful.
