Was in town on biz, and hotel suggested this place. I went for lunch and took out for dinner (assuming there wouldn't be great eats in the Lincoln airport that night).
It wasn't killer amazing, but it was two great meals. I had the bison Reuben (without bread) with a caesar salad, and the "stack" without bread. I think they forgot the cheese.
But that was the best-tasting and best-cooked meat I'd had all week in Lincoln.
It's not the fastest place, but it was good, and I'd certainly go back next time I'm in town.
My husband and I ate here for restaurant week. The food was amazing! Hubby had the pork chop with cheese grits and I had the stuffed chicken breast with mashed potatoes. Â We ate every bite and if licking your plate was socially acceptable we would have! They have an extensive list of wines and whiskeys. Â Service was excellent as well. Can't wait to go back! Recommend making a reservation.
Review Source:After many visits, this place is hit and miss. Â The food is trying to be upscale, but sometimes misses. Â The service is usually acceptable but on one visit I had an additional $2 added to my tab after leaving (noticed when I paid credit card). Â I don't necessarily blame the restaurant, so I didn't bring it up and I haven't seen that waiter since. Â
My last visit was great, the sausage and gnocchi was excellent. Â The prices are plenty fair for what you get as well. Â I only tried the steak once, soon after they opened and have not tried again. Â Partly b/c I expect a lot from a $25 steak and not many places can deliver. Â And partly b/c it was cut wrong and therefore cooked wrong. Â It was thinner at one end than the other and so the thin end was too well-done and the thick end was ok. Â Someday I will try another steak here, just not yet. Â
This is the place that snagged the sidetrack band for gamedays. Â I was here for a gameday last year. Â Its a little weird tailgating at a 'nice' place, but it works. Â That time I tried the house burger and did not like it. Â Soggy greens do not belong on a burger.
Also, there is usually only one option for your vegetable that changes monthly or so, so if you don't like it, too bad. Â I am not a vegetable eater, but so far they are better than the veggies you will get anywhere else, i.e. they put effort into them and make them fresh unlike other places.
