Duke's Chowder House - Ruston Way

I've visited here twice and I'll definitely being going back. There's only 3 negatives worth mentioning - 1) Parking is sometimes an issue, but that reflects the quality offered. 2) The bar faces towards the land. This sounds minor, but they're located right on the Puget Sound. It's a gorgeous view, unfortunately your back is to it. 3) They're a little pricey. Everything I've eaten (clam chowder both trips, coconut prawns once and crab dip once) has been superb, but you definitely want to shoot for their happy hour ( 3-6; 9-close ).
All 3 complaints are minor and as I said, I will be back again soon. They're Bloody Mary is outstanding and the staff is extremely friendly. It's also worth noting that despite both my visits being on weekends and in nice weather, I was still able to get a seat at the bar immediately. The bar scene is more of a 'drink while waiting for a table' and turns over quickly. I would recommend to anyone headed here that they at least get a small bowl of chowder, it's worth it.

What a rehearsal dinner!  The folks at Dukes went above and beyond.  They met me at the door, helped unload the centerpieces and set them out. Didn't expect that!  The appetizers were delicious, should have ordered more of the stuffed mushrooms, they were wonderful. The wait staff took great care of our guests, and remembered their beverage choices throughout the evening.  That's pretty remarkable.  It was a positively memorable event, and I highly recommend them.  In my work, I've had the opportunity to work with a lot of properties, and Dukes ranks right up there as one of the best experiences with both their venue and their menu.
