Yum, Yum, Yum, Yum and more Yum.
I'm so glad we found ourselves here last night. This place is great! I didn't think anyone could top MSM Deli on sandwiches, but this place takes my pick for best hot sandwich. (Haven't tried any cold ones, so can't compare to MSM).
Hubby wanted a beer and sandwich, I was craving pasta. So this place fit the bill.
Menu was great. Too many good choices and pretty cheap. Service was amazing. We sat down and someone was at our table. We ordered two beers and were promptly served within 5 minutes.
I went with the spaghetti and meatballs, hubby ordered the Cuban per my suggestion because of the Yelp Reviews :-D.
My side salad was served almost immediately. Wasn't a bad little salad. I loved the balsamic dressing.
Food was served within I'd say 10-15 minutes? Not bad of a wait. Honestly I would have been okay with a 30 minute wait for what came out. It was seriously THAT good.
Spaghetti and meatballs: Goodness, I thought I was eating at home. I rarely get a good plate of pasta anywhere. I'm not saying it's like authentic Italian amazing spaghetti, more like home made out of a box pasta with some pretty good home made meatballs. The balls were moist and very flavorful. For 10.50 you get a huge plate of pasta, garlic bread, and a side salad. Extremely worth it!
On to the cuban...I can't even express how good this thing was. My absolute favorite part of it was the bread. It was toasted and crispy on the outside yet moist and chewy on the inside. The pork inside was full of flavor and moist and delicious. They didn't skimp on ingredients either. It was full of meat and just perfect. Well almost perfect, it needed some mustard but other than that perfect.
Forget the sketchy neighborhood...GO HERE! You won't regret it!
I'm extremely picky when it comes to sandwiches. The ratio of bread to meat must be just right. The bread can't be too chewy or too soggy. I'd like to see some non meat life form on the sandwich. Ideally the sandwich won't fall apart making its way to my face. Oh yeah, and it should taste good.
Somehow Peterson Bros manages to get it ALL right. The bread is amazing, the ingredients are high quality and on top of that the beer selection is great. Factor in the awesome service and quaint neighborhood bar feel, and you'll see me there every week.
Oh, and the beards on the guys working behind the counter are worth a visit in themselves. They're as impressive as the sandwiches!
The BEST sandwich joint I have ever been to (and I have been to many). I had the Philly Cheesesteak and it undoubtedly is the BEST outside Philly! My girlfriend had the California Turkey sandwich and she was blown away. Great service, great food and fierce awesome beards!!!! We WILL be back when we are in town.
