Hell's Kitchen

Miss this place but the original was where it was at. Back when they had honest to goodness punk bands playing. The Exploited show about ten years ago was a personal fav. Hey over ten years ago I rented out that spot for a birthday party. It was sweet. I did a lot of my growing up here on weekends as a teen. Sad they are gone.

This place has been so cool to us glad we play here, most hospitable venue we played in a while.

Ah, good ol' Hells Kitchen. Been going here periodically since back when they were still at the old location on 6th.  Let's just be clear, this is primarily a heavy metal/punk/rockabilly, etc. type of venue. For those into these styles of music, this place is great, but if you're looking for a trendy nightclub/place to dance, this might not really be your kind of place/crowd.

HK gets a mix of both local and bigger acts coming out to play. Most of the shows w/local bands are way cheap (usually $5-$8), and the shows w/bigger bands are still pretty reasonably priced. The bartenders are always attentive and awesome, even when it gets busy. Haven't eaten here for awhile, but the cheese fries and pizza were always good.

One nice thing about the newer location is that parking availability is generally much better than the old spot. However, there's still something I miss about the old spot for some reason. Either way, w/the many other music venues in Tacoma that have come and gone over the years, HK has been a consistent force in keeping the local Tacoma scene alive, and being a great spot to go see live music and grab some drinks.
