I have stayed down the block from here for 4 years. Â We have always found the food to be fine-especially the $6 clams! Â We have tried some sandwiches, my husband had prime rib once, friends have had crab cakes and wings and I think I had a fish dish here once. Â I don't know what all the negative reviews are about. Â The service is good and they have a liquor license, which is lost unheard of on this side of LBI. Â Food is not the best ever, but solid a d dependable.
Review Source:We've never eaten here, but whenever we're heading to the south end of the island Callahan's has just the bottle of wine we need to get us to a BYOB. Â They always have a very nice selection of chilled white wines in every price range. Â
Limited reviews on the food-funny how often I see crappy reviews for place and the reviewers only have a handful of reviews...usually bad mouthing places. I'd be willing to give them a shot if I was in the mood for bar food..
WOW!!!! What a Dump. Â
The place is really very clean and aesthetically;;y pleasing.  I stopped on vacation with my family.  The appetizers were freshly defrosted I'm sure.  I had a shepards pie that I wouldn't have given to a dog.  My kids got cheese burgers that were inedible and  burnt.  My wife spent most of the rest of the night with a stomach ache.  Not to mention NON OF US FINISHED our meal and it came to ( without Tip) to $98.  for shepherds pie, soup and Burgers.  The Server ,Amanda ,was a sweet girl and seemed truly sorry, but not surprised, when I told her the meal was terrible.
