"When you find a pair of pants that actually fits and you can't stop staring at your own butt in the dressing room mirror" is the only way to describe the level of satisfaction I got from El Azabache's drink menu. Marvel at this drink menu.

I ordered a medium marg because it was before noon...and you have to take it easy sometimes. It was utterly huge. 20 oz of margarita goodness for about $5. I can't even handle it.

El Azabache has a really great and wide selection of food for all sorts. Taco salads and American-ish food for people who don't realize they are at a Mexican restaurant. Vegetarian options abound. I will never make the mistake of creating my own plate of chile rellenos and ordering two because it was far too much food after pounding a large margarita.

I've been to this place a couple of times, only because I used to live near Southern Plaza, so my boyfriend and I used to go here.

So the very first time I came I ordered a burrito dinner type thingy and it was great! Every time I went after I ordered the same exact thing and it was gross, it just kept getting worse....I started to order different things and didn't like them all.  So I don't like the food.  Wait...except for the chips and salsa, those are delicious :)

Although I absolutely LOVE their margaritas!!  The strawberry will make your toes curl and I also loved the peach one, Yum :) Alcohol makes up for everything with me!

For everyone saying this is "authentic" or "real" Mexican food...you can tell that you are from Indiana lol this is not authentic Mexican food...it is very much Amercanized, it's just not as bad as Taco Bell :)

I always have great servers, they just always seem to run away when you want the check :-? You would think that for that part they would actually stick around *shrugs*

i disagree with the other post, being from california, you can't find any good mexican food in indianapolis, other than the mexican food stores like guanajuato, and los compadres, "real" mexican food is scarce around here, however el mason on emerson and el azabache i find far above say on the border, don pablo ...ect. see my pics....the carnitas is exellent as well as the fajitas,,,
