There is really nothing to complain or rave about here. It is what it is. Americanized Mexican food. Mexican enough to be called Mexican, but pleasing to Midwesterners enough to be in business on 21 Mile road. Call it Mich-Mex if you will. They have some nice signature tacos, while far from authentic, they are still pretty delish. Fried tortillas, filled with nice hot beef and relatively high quality ingredients. I have picked up a catering order from here and folks were pretty impressed by their tacos, fajitas, rice and beans. Portions are rather large, and true to Midwestern culture, they make sure to throw good amounts of cheese on everything. Unsurprisingly, there are hardly any adventuresome options here, but at least there's a few pork items to try out. I will always swear by the authentic Mexican spots in Southwest Detroit, but this stands as a decent option out in the suburbs. Pricing is fair, and I have seen coupons floating around.
Review Source:I get it, it's not "authentic." Â But hop off your high horse and enjoy a delicious puffy taco with us, ok? Â We come here a lot. Â On the weekends for dinner, it's hopping and you'll probably have to wait for a table. Â The drinks are delish (try the sangria swirl! Â It's a margarita and sangria in one!), and the food is muy delicioso. Â We never get the entrees, but stick with a combo of ala cartes, which we enjoy after gorging on the chips and salsas they bring you to snack on. Â My favorites are the chile relleno, tortilla soup, tostadas, botanas and the fondue. Â Oh, and the cheesecake chimichangas!! Â I also think the service here is great, and the place is clean.
Review Source:LOVE El Charro. BEST Mexican food in Macomb county, hands down. I have been eating at the Fraser and now Macomb locations for years. and I'm never ever disappointed. My father worked for a mexican company and traveled to mexico a lot, and he finds their food to be very authentic. From their salsa, rice and beans, to their  enchiladas, burritos, chimichangas, chiles relleno, mexican pizza and unique soft shell tacos (of all varieties, including the mahi mahi fish tacos), their food is consistently deliciously good. You can't go wrong with any of their meals, and you get a ton of food with your meal. I would agree that the Macomb location has super fast service, which makes it very family friendly, and with a 3.5 year-old, I like that. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves good Mexican food!
