El Llano Restaurant

Went there for Easter Dinner because we were afraid that most places were crowded.  No problem getting a table, and the staff was friendly.  The food was great; my daughter ordered rabbit and it was very good.  We were so stuffed on our carb-rich meal (cassava, yucca, plantains---yum!), and it is BYOB so bring a nice fruity white or hearty beer.  Will definitely go back.

Part of my New Year's resolution is to work my way through a list of restaurants near my home.  Tonight's adventure was El Llano.

I have to say that I enjoyed myself quite a bit.  The space is clean, bright, and warm.  The service was quick and good.  I asked for recommendations, and the waitress suggested one of the specials, a flat-cut chicken with beans, rice, and salad.  For $5.  !!!

I will say that the food absolutely hit the spot for me tonight.  I won't write poetry about the food, but it was excellently seasoned, well cooked, and exactly enough.  Plus, they have apple soda!  And I loved the salsa verde so much, I asked for take-away so I could make enchiladas when I got home.  Definitely stop by and ask about the specials!

Excellent value. I had the half chicken for $7. Very tasty and I'm stuffed.
