Had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. I don't know if it was because I was starving or a bit hung over but the huevos Monterrey were delicious. It's basically diced carne asada mixed with eggs, side of beans, rice, and your choice of tortillas along with the red table salsa it was the best Mexican style breakfast I've had...well outside of home. My husband had the menudo and he said it was pretty good. That says alot considering he's a menudo snob. Will definately go back.
Review Source:NO NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OMG NOOOOOOOOO I have eaten at TONS of Mexican restaurants ~ from high end to dives and everything in between and this place... UGH... Â The service was WONDERFUL but I mean... $1.50 for a CAN of soda? and SALTY beans the beans were soooo salty I left there, got home & drank 6 glasses of water in a row and people who know me... they KNOW I don't drink water unless it is the ONLY choice I have! Â I will NEVER go here again!
Review Source:Angela P first introduced me to this place. She had some food catered to her sons birthday. That's where I fell in love with the El Meson Creamy Chipotle Chicken. It's chicken in this creamy chipotle sauce and some rice. Sounds pretty boring but it is deeeee-lish!
Mom, pops and the bro got a ceviche tostada, taco de pastor, gorditas de pastor, and tacos de asada, respectively. My dad Loved the pastor, that's right, capital L. The other food was also as good.
Now, my only beef with Meson Express is that it wasn't so express. We waited for our food for a solid 30 minutes, no bs, but I kept my cool. The second order came by faster, I think they realized their mistake.
It's a dingy little place but the food is great!
I always doubted this place because they can't get the carne asada tacos to my likings, but who cares when they have a lot more stuff on the menu that will satisfy your taste buds...
Breakfast is good here.. Try the chorizo con huevos which comes with rice and beans and tortillas.. The portions are huge and there something
about the rice and beans that are the bomb!..
For lunch you cant go wrong with the gorditas de alambre.. Carne asada with diced onions, peppers, bacon and melted cheese.. I like the gorditas here better than aguascalientes.. They just taste better and the masa seems softer...
For dinner I've only tried the chicken enchilada suiza dinner and chicken taco dinner and again the rice and beans are tasty and the seasoned shredded chicken was to my likings..
So no matter what time of day it is as long as you don't order carne asada tacos El Meson is a good spot in Berwyn to eat..
We recently used their catering service for Milo's first birthday party and were very pleased with the quality of the food. Â For a mere $7.50 pp we were able to order 2-3 entrees from the list, which we ordered Bistec a la Mexicana, Chicken Fajitas and a Creamy Chipotle Chicken, and it all comes with a huge container of their pickled carrots, cauliflower and peppers, a full tray of each beans, rice, salad and chips and also with an entire box of heated tortillas. Â Oh...and two containers of the salsas. Â Yeah...so A LOT for your money! Â Everyone really enjoyed the food and asked where I had ordered it cause it was that good!
The only downside was that I asked for it to be delivered at 2:00 and it didn't get there until like 2:40, so that was a little disappointing because I had hungry guests waiting to eat, but I guess since it was FREE delivery, I can cut them some slack!
We dealt with Pepe, who I believe is the owner and he even did the delivery and set up himself at the house! Â Very impressive! Â And he was a very nice guy who I will LOVE doing business with again in the future! Â I suggest to anyone to wants some really authentic, DELICIOUS Mexican food to stop in here for something to eat or use their catering for your next get together! =]
