This place could be the sleeper pizza joint in all the world. Â Quiet, unique, fun, but it was very quiet when I went there one afternoon. Â It serves mexican style pizza if that is possible and it is. Orange cheese instead of white; spongy, corn type crust instead of doughy; very interesting. Â They had the slices ready though and caned drinks. Â Not bad; very interesting and I had the place all to myself. Â Could this be a cool spot? sure. Â Was it a long time ago? probably. Would I bring anyone there: sure if I wanted a low key, quick slice for fun. I also liked the music. Probably better for tamales or burritos than pizza: unique.
Review Source:Okay, here is my latest review. Â If you remember, I said that my daughter wanted her graduation party held here but I was a bit leary. Â Well, on the day of the party - again, Â I was Floored! Â when we arrived at the location not knowing what to expect, we were greeted by the waitstaff - that's right, I said waitstaff - who were dressed in black and white. Â The tables had been moved to accomodate the twenty-six or so people that were attending. Â Each table had a bud vase with fresh flowers placed in the middle, the music was up-tempo, the washrooms were clean and the room was cooled (it was a hot day).
As everyone started to arrive, they were greeted, seated and served immediately with drinks and appetizers that I had ordered ahead of time. Â Once everyone was there, the main meals were brought out and the food was beautifully prepared, hot, delicious and filling. Â Everyone was impressed. Â I have photos of the event and may even post them. Â At the end of the event, I asked the "Chef" to make an entrance and he received applause for the presentation and savory food. Â My daughter was so proud that her choice of restaurants was received well by all. Â I have since gone back and still have not been disappointed. Â The food is just delicious, the service is friendly and the place is clean.
It is true - places change. Â Good job, El Novillo Taqueria - Bravo!
Yeah -- you'll want to skip this one. Â First off, any place that serves pizza, steak, and Mexican food? Â Bound to suck at all three. Â Then there's the whole issue of food safety: Â not long ago there was a report on a neighborhood blog of someone being served a rusty nail (not the beverage, the oxidized metal object commonly used in carpentry).
