A & T Grill

I second Iris H. review - since this placed changed hands so many things have gone downhill.  They should let go of much of the waitstaff, and especially the Russian hostess - her attitude has probably infected the staff and caused their malaise.

Supposedly A & T stands for abundant and tasty, and is it correct!
It's a pretty classic looking diner, so take it for what it is.

Unfortunately the details of what I had there has blurred as it was my last meal in Illinois before a week-long road trip back to CA... but we all definitely left food on our plate because we were so full.

Yeesh. I'd been wanting to go here for a while since I've passed by it so many times with my mouth watering for anytime breakfast. But once inside...

The food (quality and quantity) and service could be described as "bare minimum." The cleanliness is definitely subpar. Those mysterious little bits of yellow goo on my tea plate and honey packets didn't exactly whet my appetite either. And I got some weird vibe from the staff, as if I had something to be worried about, or as if they wanted to get rid of me in a hurry...
