Okay, why I gave this place 5 stars...
Real talk this place doesn't look like much on the outside and it doesn't even look right. But lemme tell you this place is truly a diamond in the rough! Â
As you walk in and step towards the register, you can't help but notice a familiar contraption that looks like a gyro spit most Greek resturants but instead of processed lamb/beef meat you see a different type of meat being cooked (gyro style). What it is, is marinated pork! Aka...el pastor!
Just 1 of the meats offered at this place. SO YUMMY!
they have everything tacos, burritos, tortas, every Mexican flare you want and like. The tortas are super huge and crazy cheap! $4 for a torta!
I've brought multiple friends to this place and all of them truly enjoyed themselves and had 0 complaints!
ITS THE REAL DEAL!! Nothing fake about this place but you're not gonna know unless you try it!
This is such a great little spot.....I have been ther emore time after Midnight than I can remember, BUT.......It tastes great when you're sober too. Love the little Salsa Trio they bring out, awesome Guac, great chips, love their Nopales! I have eaten food in Mexico and California, this is REAL!!
IDK why I am NOT giving it 5 stars.....but 4 is very solid!!!
Funny, I always thought it was Taconaz, as the Z is followed by a picture of a taco. Doesn't look like an O at all. In any case, it appears there are multiple locations now and that they've changed their phone number for some reason. Make sure you're calling the correct location, as there is a definite communication gap.
The chow is totally acceptable. Verde is on the unnecessarily hot side, which is unfortunate for burrito and bistec people. Please keep this place in business and, if you are fluent in Spanish, schedule a meeting with the owner and tell him or her how they could benefit by better English communication. Hell, I might just do that myself.
The place looks like a dive from the outside, inside doesn't look like much either. Â The food though is surprisingly better than most places that I have been to. Â The carne asada is char grilled to perfection, the al pastor isn't too porky and fatty and marinated just enough, the burritos don't fall apart and the tortas are the best I've had in the neighborhood. Try the Al Pastor Torta ..you won't regret.
Review Source:I'm not a big fan of TBK so this is my go to choice for quick inexpensive Mexican food close to home.  I like the steak tostadas. Loaded with delicious charred steak (RARELY ever get a "chewy" or fatty piece) and a strong, sharp queso fresco cheese can't beat it.  Unlike other places I've gotten tostadas, these really  hold up til the end. They are not the usual sloppy wet mess that I usually end up with. The rice, the pico de gallo and hot salsas are also very good. My only gripe is that they only accept cash.
Review Source:My boyfriend was in the mood for some nachos tonight. We normally go to Taco Burrito King, but he's not a fan of the nachos there, so we decided to try this place.
Kind of a small and janky looking place, it seemed very promising as we drove up. You can smell the delicious grease from outside. I got my hopes up. We ordered, got our food, and went home.
I dove into the bag and grabbed the tinfoil that held my cheese quesadilla. When I opened it, I was sorely disappointed. It was TINY! I'm used to the giant quesadillas that I get from TBK and various other places. This one took 3-4 bites to finish, the sour cream was runny, and the tortilla was dry and gross.
My boyfriend said the nachos weren't terrible, but they weren't good. I thought the toppings looked like dog food.
Advice: don't waste your time. Drive the extra 5 minutes and go to TBK instead.
