HORRIBLE. I am a fan of el vaquero but the service at this particular location was horrendous! I have always had a great experience at the one on Olentangy but this particular location should be SHUT DOWN. We were seated immediately, and despite the restaurant being fairly slow (as compared to how busy I have seen it in the past), our drink order was not taken until 20 minutes after we had been seated. our server kept passing us and kept saying "one more minute, ill be right with you" and after much neglect on his part, we had to flag down another server to take our drink order. Our server finally acknowledged our presence about 10 minutes after our drinks were brought to the table. he took our order and although the food came out decently quickly, he got two orders incorrect in our party of 5. he never brought us water after asking twice for glasses of water for our table. that isn't even the worst part of the whole experience....
when i received my check my amount and bill was correct. when my credit card was swiped, the receipt that was given to me was for half the amount. being an honest person, I brought this to my servers attention. He said he would void the incorrect amount and would charge my card the correct amount. My total bill with tip was 46 dollars and when I checked my bank account this morning I was charged $103 dollars (the incorrect amount was charged to my card TWICE instead of one transaction charging it and one transaction crediting my account)....unless you want to pay 103 dollars for a fajita and jumbo margarita that took you an hour and a half to get....NEVER COME HERE. EVER.
Have eaten at El Vaquero many times. Went there for dinner tonight first they brought me the wrong food...nothing even close to what I ordered and after I finally got the right food I found hair in my food. It was a very long, blonde hair. Nothing makes me more disgusted then having someone else's hair cooked into my food. NASTY. We reported the nasty hair to our waiter and walked out and won't be returning.
Review Source:You guys: this is not authentic Mexican. I really don't understand why people get so "ERMAGHERD" over El Vaquero.
Okay, sure, it's quick. It's cheap. The margaritas are potent. The chips and salsa are plentiful. But that's about where it ends for me.
I've tried fajitas, burritos, salads, quesadillas... everything has been overcooked and doused in cheese (which, let's be honest, I'm not too upset about... but because of this, it's impossible to find a fat-free option because the cheese sauce = their only method of flavoring otherwise bland dishes).
Just my two cents: I'd rather fork out the additional $40 and hit up Cantina Laredo - where they make fresh guac right at your table and understand the importance of cilantro, jalapenos and poblanos as flavoring agents!
