I saw the review of Meister's Chicago deep dish in the Food City Winter 2013 edition, and pretty much demanded that my friends join me that week. Â We were not disappointed.
Despite Meister's somewhat shady exterior, it is a warm and welcoming bar. Â Remarkably clean, appropriately noisy, and with excellent quality pool tables, Meister's is one of the more comforting bars I've been to in Columbus.
And the deep dish pizza is excellent. Â It is not the most unique deep dish I have ever had, but absolutely the best there is in Columbus. Â The sauce is slightly sweet with a fresh, rich tomato taste. Â The cheese is smooth and tangy without overpowering your mouth or your stomach. Â And the crust has an excellent crunch without too much grease.
If I have any notes to give, is that even one deep dish slice can fill you up, so be forewarned that you will probably be bringing back leftovers.
