    Enjoyable dining experience

Went to Spagio on a sleepy Sunday evening and enjoyed the meal probably more than expected.  Their drinks were nice and stiff, the waiter was very attentive to our needs (possibly because we were his only table at that time of night).  The food was very nice from the appetizer to the bread and entree.  If you are looking for classic Italian you cannot go wrong with this spot.

When I'm in the mood for a nicer meal without the pinky-out attitude, I love making my way to Spagio. I've had brunch and dinner here, both being delicious. The service is great without being too buggy and prices aren't outrageous for a place with fancy white tablecloths.

Their "Refreshing Chopped Salad" is exactly that - and one of my favorite salads in Columbus. So so fresh and however they make their herb vinaigrette is genius. It's so good, I have gotten it as a Brunch starter before (I love that they offer half sizes for $7!). My absolute favorite brunch dish here is the Eggs a la Maison ($11 - their version of an Eggs Benedict). The Brioche they use is amazing. I have had a bite or two of bf's crab macaroni and cheese (which I'm not sure is still on the menu) and OMG it was yummy. Their pizzas are wood-fired and tasty as well ($10-$15) and just enough for 2, if you're not ravenous. I've never tried a main entree here, but they look amazing and well-proportioned coming out of the kitchen.

Their dessert case is very impressive and fancy for the eyes. I gave in and shared a dessert once with my Mom and was a little disappointed it didn't taste quite as amazing as it looked. Still completely, 100% edible, don't get me wrong...

For you gluten-free folks, ask them to show you their options - they have an entire separate menu for you!

I love coming here and wish I were able to more often. The atmosphere is great for a date night that's fancier than hitting up one of the nearby bars and it's cozy enough to not feel like you need to rush through a meal. I really need to try the wine bar next door - that's my next stop!

OH! And the chef here offers cooking classes - something I definitely, definitely want to go to!

I don't know what's going on with Spagio, but the food seems to progressively get worse each time I go. For what you spend, you're definitely getting ripped off. 25 bucks for rubbery seafood? I'll pass. Aside from that, there is no better way to describe the service other than weird. The owners troll around starring at everyone but never acknowledging anyone, almost as if they're disgusted you're there. The bartenders service was so ridiculously awful, you almost feel bad. Oh, and it gets better he's been there 8+ years or something absurd. Anyway, I'd say skip it, save your money and go eat somewhere worthwhile like Matt the Millers or Z Cucina.
