We have eaten here twice recently. The first time we ordered ribs. They were dry and very overcooked. Service was not good; we had to wait while people who came in after us were waited on first. Disappointing! The second time was even worse. My husband ordered Mongolian beef. He said it was very tough and dry and tasteless. I ordered the Thai salad, listed as including peas pods and mangoes. It did not have those ingredients but was mostly lettuce without any dressing at all. It was certainly nothing like any Thai food I have ever had. Twice is enough for us to give a restaurant a chance to show us some quality and value. The place was packed both times. So some people apparently think it is okay. But we cannot see ourselves wasting any more time or money on the Elephant Bar and Restaurant.

Arrived Saturday night for dinner. The host sat us quickly. The Booth she sat yes at was dirty. Our server came and started laying utensils. We asked him to clean the table which he obligingly did. We moved to a table at our request. The table was too small anyway. The next server was pleasant. However the food was terrible! My daughters burger meat was overcooked. My wives chicken salad meat was simply burnt too. My Thai chicken zest salad was tasteless. Food took 40 minutes to come out! Restaurant floor was so dirty, it's unlike most elephant bars I have seen. Overall, our dinner experience was terrible. Won't recommend.

Wow, is it just me or are the appetizer portions shrinking? Or maybe I come here so rarely I never noticed. Either way -- Calamari bowl is half filled with puffed rice noodles? Artichoke dip bowl only half full? Meh.

Meh it was ok. Don't get the flatbread. Way too small.

Not much choice for beers on tap.

Service was a bit slow. Margarita overly sweet too much lime juice. Cheese steak bread was hard.

Everyday generic restaurant

Food was good, service was painfully slow.

I went with a party of 8 for a business lunch and made reservations a couple days prior. We waited a very long time to get our order taken and didn't get our drinks (water and a few sodas) until long after we ordered our meal. The waitress mixed up the drinks and one person drank water that wasn't theirs. We asked for another water and the waitress looked very miffed and said we'd have to wait a little while. It never came. We asked again after getting our food and it still took a long time (we had to flag down someone else). For a glass of water. I could almost understand if the place was packed but it was not very busy. She didn't check back with us until we got the check.

The food looked good and my colleagues seemed to like it. I had chicken teriyaki and rice and it was very good.

But I definitely won't be going back. Bad service is one thing when I'm on a personal lunch, but this was a business lunch with 8 people planned days in advance.

2.5 stars.

been here 2ce recently, dishes ordered:

-ribs and prawn entree: disappointed in rib size, it was like 2 bites! worth a try cuz the taste was decent, but you probably won't order it again.
-seared tuna salad: not a disappointment if you are into salads and raw tunafish
-philly cheesesteak: awesome! comes with a side a fries. everything grilled nicely, however some may think it's on the dryer side
-jambalaya: very meaty, sausage, chicken, shrimp, tons of it on the plate. however the sauce taste is just tomato-y and they threw in these toppings...not a whole warm flavor.

sides:
-sweet potato fries: yum, crisp and sweet
-sweet yams and walnut crumble casserole: my favorite, and stays warm when all the other food gets cold.
-tomato basil bisque: rich, creamy, simply satisfying

drink:
strawberry swirl? with the pineapple wedge on the cup (just like in the photo)

ambiance: great for celebrations, special occasions.
service: good =]

if i were to come back, i would just order sides and the drink. entrees aren't that great.

Questionable food. I'm not sure if I was eating fried calamari or a mystery meat that tasted like chicken. The batter was beyond weird too. It was obvious that the sweet potato fries were not cooked-to-order. They were mushy and probably sat under a heat lamp for god know how many hours before it was served to us.

Maybe it's because I'm ACTUALLY Asian so the awkward attempt at Asian fusion was really a turn-off for me. I felt like I was in another world, trying to make sense of the weird delicacies that white people have concocted based on their limited knowledge of Asian food.

I ordered Top Sirloin and the meat was okay with the first bite but then it just got progressive more and more gross. It was chewy It was also so obvious the mashed potatoes came from a box and there was no attempt to make it taste ANYTHING similar to real mashed potatoes. It felt like eating butter and powder.

According to my co-workers, their Philly Cheesesteak and Sauteed Chicken Marsala were also quite bad.

The waitress was attentive but she couldn't really suggest anything remotely good. She just suggested all the overpriced appetizers and expensive entrees. The mediocre service didn't help the food taste any better.

I'm writing this review based on my positive experiences from 2010-2012. Newer reviews by other members suggest some recent changes for the worse, so I may update this review after my next visit. But for now, I'm definitely looking forward to returning here the next time I'm in the area. I end up ordering lamb shanks almost every time, although the occasional other items I have had (like the jambalaya and shrimp scampi) were also excellent. I love the decor here, which creates a very nice dining environment. Given how busy the place can get, the staff do a good job getting everyone a table.

I have mixed feelings about Elephant bar. It's a pretty good family restaurant aside from the fact that the service is slow and not very friendly. They get our order wrong a lot. The food is ok, nothing special. If you're looking for a last resort, this is where you go.

I used to like this place years ago.. like we'd come as a family, I'd get the jambalaya every time and I think their lamb shank was good...

But I just recently came back and everything was shoddy. The lettuce wraps had old wilted lettuce. The tilapia was kinda bland and overcooked but okay. All the veggies were cooked to DEATH, like actually inedible. Only the chicken/ribs were decent. The serving sizes were good, bc it's EBar, but god the food was so poorly executed. They just really don't care.

The waiter didn't look like he gave a damn either. He asked how we were doing, and we hesitated but did end up telling him that the vegetables were no bueno. He got another serving made and it was slightly better but still inedible. How hard is it to grill some vegetables, guys? Especially since it took them hella long to get the food out!

The Road to Lahini and Jungle Coloda make Patricia a happy person. The game was on and the food was good I got interrupted by some rowdy bar flies but then again i passed gas on them so all is far especially if you try to steal my chair!

The mud slide doesn't come in smaller sizes that should change. Bar is a great place to sit

This is the worst Elephant Bar I've ever had the unfortunate mistake of visiting. I've never had a problem with other locations and they have been dependable in terms of food, drinks, decent service, and a good time with friends and family.

We were seated immediately at a two-person table. The table was awkward, you couldn't even put your feet on the floor because the leg of the table was in the way. The whole dinner my legs were cramped and my feet were at a slanted angle on the table's leg.

Our waitress rolled her eyes at us and said "hey." Nothing else, just that. I don't care much about interaction with servers, but at least be courteous. My mango raspberry swirl was overflowing and she spilled it on the table. No offer of napkins and didn't wipe the table.

So, now my legs are cramped, my drink glass is sticky and the drink tastes like rotting mangoes, and our waitress is a bi*ch. At least the food came out quickly and the person who served us our food was nice. She was also a waitress for the next section of tables. Why couldn't they have seated us there??

The manager came out to the table next to us, and apologized for the bug that was found in their food. Disgusting!

We were a quiet couple looking to have a nice dinner, and not once were we demanding or rude to the waitress. In fact, we asked HER how SHE was doing, tried to be polite, and I wiped down the table. I should have tipped myself for doing her job that night.

I'll never go back to this location. It's one thing to be busy, but when you provide poor service during slow hours, there is no excuse.

I came here a couple times in the past, but my most recent visit pushed me into writing a review. The service was terrible. After we were seated, we had to wait 5-10 minutes to get a menu. We asked for water, but that never come, not even by the time we left. I ordered a side salad and asked for dressing on the side. The dressing did come in a little cup on the side, but it was also splashed all over my salad - not really "on the side". Most of this could be overlooked if the servers were actually busy. When I came in the past, the place was always full and quite busy, but this time, an entire half of the restaurant (the wing adjacent to the grill) was completely empty. Can't really explain such slow and negligent service.

Service aside, the food wasn't bad. The salad was surprisingly good, but the lemon garlic chicken was dry and unexceptional. The market cobb salad looked good, but it also looked like what you'd get anywhere else. Overall, the food wasn't bad but wasn't great either.

Came here for drinks and appetizers. I thought the service was just okay, acceptable. Well stocked bar and an interesting drink list. All the food looks asian influenced, was interesting (and tasty). I'd return.

Happy hour!! 9-close every night!
Bartenders are sweet fun and incredible at making my margaritas and mojitos to my satisfaction.
Chicken marsala is savory... ask for extra vegetables! The sauce makes them sooo good!
Love going here just for some appetizers and drinks. Sit in the bar, have a few drinks and enjoy the happy hour.

This is for the bar portion of the restaurant. I always receive good service when sitting in the bar area of the restaurant. The food isn't that great, but it's a great place to meet with friends and have a beer or two. The trouble comes after you've had a few beers and have the munchies, because there's nothing I'd recommend eating here. Elephant Bar, you need a secret menu that has the delicious foods, not the mainstream bleh!

Late night happy hour is pretty good. I think it was 9pm- closing?

Items range from $5.50 and up, the HH food menu could be a bit more diverse.

Heavy wine pours, none of that sissy fancy restaurant 1/4 of a glass shnanagins.

The food quality has moved up a touch since i last came to an Ebar. The lettuce wraps were very flavorful, but a touch greasy, and WAY WAY WAY too salty. To cut down on the salt content, just use a DAB of the soy-based sauce it comes with, otherwise you'll wake up dehydrated since the salt has soaked up all the moisture in your body.

Now nursing a hangover from such heavy pours, sorry i'm not sorry!

For years, this has been our go to place. Something for everyone. A few dependable dishes and lovely drinks.
Sadly, this week, all of that changed. The steak sandwich that was so wonderful now has a slightly rancid taste. For some reason it was heavily coated in raw garlic paste. Maybe a move to mask the taste of the meat? Barely edible. I think it really put me off meat.

Even though the menu still shows a carafe of wine, when ordered, it is explained that is no longer available. It will be a 7 ounce glass rather then an 8 ounce carafe.

The service was fine but perhaps a bit intrusive. Seems off.

I quite like Elephant Bar. I'd mostly order to-go from time to time.
Personal favorites:
- Louie salad (seafood, pineapple, avocado, vegetables): I love this salad. Too bad the calorie to this dish is not salad-like especially if you got the Thousand Island dressing
- Sweet potato fries: this is just plain YUM!
- Ahi tuna rice: if you feel like having low-calorie food, this is the best option
This place is a little like The Cheesecake Factory, just Asianized. haha

As always, the food is a solid 7 out of 10, but its worth a go because its a great place for groups and kids.

My waitress was very cool. She had a great sense of humor and she was nice.

My sister used to work here and she told me what to order, so I had the grilled chicken, and my sister had mac n' cheese a some form of stir fried something. I tried her food, and I liked it.

My friends got some sort of garlic bread that they both enjoyed but just looking at it (as someone who likes to at least ATTEMPT clean eating) made me a little bit queasy. It was... well, I'm sure the butter addend a nice flavor.

Overall, its about the level of quality you would get if you made it at home. Nothing fancy, but nothing nasty.

There was quite an expansive menu though, which was cool. Overall I'd say its a nice little easygoing and fun place to be.

I used to be a regular when I was still in high school, but I haven't been here in 2-3 years.

I ordered a burger with fries -- the burger was average, and the fries weren't crunchy and were mediocre at best. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, which balanced out the food. I feel like I remember the food being better a few years ago.

Although I didn't order any appetizers, they seemed a lot cheaper than the same items would be at a different restaurant.

This is not so much of a review of their actual dining, but their happy hour!

This is a place that I regularly go for happy hour. They have a few combo deals that I think are amazing. Half hardwood-fired chicken flatbread and regular sized domestic beer for 6.25; or my favourite deal, Classic Burger with french fries and a regular sized domestic beer for 6.75. You can upgrade to a craft beer for another dollar.

Think about it. This burger is actually quite good and worth about 5 dollars. Which means you're paying about 3 dollars for the beer (stella, blue moon, hef, sierra nevada). I think this is a great deal. The burger is better for not sharing, and if you want to share, get the flat breads. The Korean tacos are pretty good too, but not as worth it.

Sweet potato fries for 3.50 are quite delicious. The dipping sauce is pretty good too.

During happy hours, long islands are 5 dollars, and they're stiff drinks. These are fairly strong, and they're cheap at 5 dollars per.

I don't really come here and see the regular menu anymore. It's always for the happy hour drinks and food, which maintains great value. Artichoke dip + chips are 4.50. Ugh, good snacking foods and good drinks (even though it's not a full bar). Delicious.

I highly recommend this place for food and drinks on the happy hour menu. It really doesn't get old. The staff is usually attentive, but on busy days, its hard for the bartenders to keep up with everybody, but they try. Sometimes the busers just need to clean tables for faster turn arounds. Drinks are in and out properly.

Oh and note the hours. The bar stays open an extra hour past when the restaurant closes. Still fairly early. Restaurant closes around 10ish, and bar closes around 11.

Back after 9 or so years. 9 years ago was a time of bittersweet memories when I first got my credit card and had to manually remember to sign the receipt. It was also back when more people were willing to hang out with me. Anyway, I hadn't visited this joint since the last time I got its bland noodles (not as bad as Merlion's, though). There was a deal that my friend offered to use with me, so I decided to give this place another try. It seems I can eat anywhere for the right incentive these days. But in light of the deal, it was actually not bad this time.

The time was around 6:45 PM on a weekday night. There was about a 15-minute wait to be seated.

Decor: 5
Same safari theme from years past. Don't mistake it for The Jungle. Does that still exist? Has Chuck E. Cheese's cartel driven it out? It's also dark in there, so it must be a night safari, though it didn't feel as dangerous as I would think, like girls on a certain holiday for horror and evil monsters. More important, my food photo didn't come out very well. You know how flash would make the picture too bright, but without it, it looks too dark? I opted to take it without flash, and it turned out like the night sky of L.A., smoggy brown with unidentifiable lumps of something. On the other hand, since I couldn't resist my Asian urge to take a food picture, I must have thought it looked edible at least. It's even in my Yelp profile picture as of this writing.

Food: 6 x 2
Better than I remember 9 years ago.

For appetizer, we got a chicken lettuce wrap. I think the lettuce was my favorite part. It was cool, crispy and friendly green.

I got the Thai-high stir-fry chicken with brown rice. Good meat, good sauce, good garnishments.

The dude sitting at my table got the Mongolian beef with brown rice--way too salty for me. It was also the most expensive item we had @ $13.50 (cranked).

I liked the presentation of the food.

Price: 2 (4)
Each item was in the double digits (maybe not the appetizer, check the menu). I was full after the appetizer and the main dish. I'm used to having only the main dish, so it isn't impressive to have to eat an appetizer to be full. The coupon made everything we ate $20 + tax + ransom, which came out to $13 for each of us. Considering that, it could be a worthwhile deal.

Service: 5
I liked that there was a waiter opening the front door for customers, although it could have been a haphazard occurrence because it was raining that night. I guess our table waiter was pretty nice, too. He explained the deal to us before taking our orders. Hopefully that didn't affect our portions.

Overall: 24 (26)/50
Well, I would never come here without an incentive, but the food isn't bad if you can afford it. Thanks.

Went for happy hour! The drinks are super watered down and basically taste just like... flavored water. :/ I mean, I'm not trying to get WASTED or anything, but if I'm coming to the bar for happy hour I'm hoping for a tiny buzz right?

I got a house margarita, but my friends got the mai thai and long island iced tea and they weren't much better.

Haven't tried any other food there besides the artichoke dip (which is super good!)

First time visiting this restaurant with my friend's recommendation. I went here to celebrate my birthday, and it was really nice! My friend had a coupon so we ordered the Chicken Marsala, Crispy Honey Shrimp, and Creme Brulee. The chicken was so tender and topped with gravy (Asian style) & mushrooms. Shrimp was good too, with tangy and sweet taste. Creme brulee was really custard-y, so rich and delicious.

Of course, what would a birthday celebration be if there is no drinking involved? We ordered a total of six drinks, and all of them were really good, especially the Passion Mai Tai (tasted like juice). The only let down was the Sex on the Beach, it was made all wrong: sour, bitter, not sweet, and totally missing the pineapple taste. The waiter was really nice and took that off our check so all was good after that.

Service was quick and our waiter was very attentive to our needs and checked on our table very often, which is really nice even when it was a really busy Saturday night.

I came here around 730pm with the parents and brother for dinner on a Sunday night, and it was pretty packed.

2 for $20!!! Get one appetizer and TWO entrees( there is a specific menu)! I love great deals :). We got Mongolian beef with brown rice and Thai chicken with white rice. Mongolian beef is very tender and juicy! The Thai chicken is moist and somewhat crispy, yet covered with tangy sauce! This time the chefs were a little heavy handed on the garlic. Made my breath smellll!

Also, great service!!! The waiter got our food in a timely manner, our food and hot water were pipping hot, and checked on how we were doing!

I will definitely come back for the 2 for $20 deal!

This is a warm, friendly bar and grill that could become your 'local'. The service is solid and the decor is nice. The circular bar is a cool place to chill and have a few drinks while catching bits of the game (with no sound).

But, like other posters said, the food is mediocre. It is a confused mix of faux Asian cuisine with things like burgers and Jambalaya and seafood thrown on the menu. But the friendly bar service will definitely keep some people coming back. Its also a good place to take the family, including the little ones.

This review is only for the happy hour.

Now, one thing I greatly missed living in Boston was the awesomeness of happy hour! That's because happy hour in Massachusetts is illegal! YES, illegal - http://bostinno.com/2012…

Anyway, this place has good happy hour deals. I went here with fellow Elite Yelper Leslie H. whom I met at the elite Ayra event. They have good drink deals like $3 domestic beers and $4 craft beers and mojitos. Food specials are good too - $7 for a flatbread with a beer or burger, fries and beer. They also had appetizer deals ranging from $4-$6 including chicken tenders, spinach dip, three cheese macaroni and seared ahi tuna.

I got the burger and fries which were standard, but you can't beat the deal. Leslie ordered the chicken tenders, which she liked but did mention the side of ranch dressing made it more flavorful. But what a large portion!

Service was good.

Now, 4 stars might be high, but I appreciate the decent food at a good price. I also appreciated how we got a seat at the bar.

Good spot for happy hour around the area.

I stopped by last night for happy hour with fellow Yelp Elite Kristine R. I am actually pretty shocked at all the low ratings that I'm seeing from my Yelp friends. Why no love for the Elephant Bar? Yes, it's gimmicky. But this is also a safe place to bring out of town guests who aren't adventurous eaters. Lots of fried and familiar dishes on the menu, all wrapped up in a jungle/safari-themed look. Who knows what they're really going for.

We sat at the circular bar where there were two bartenders who kept moving the whole time. I ordered edamame and chicken tenders (because I can never resist anything fried). In my defense, I did try to go for more of a "meal" like their burger, fries, and beer deal for around $7, but they don't do turkey burgers. They also have flatbreads, but they are topped with onions and peppers and BBQ sauce with chicken or Italian sausage, and I wasn't really in the mood to court heartburn. The food portions were surprisingly generous. Also, they have a wide variety of alcoholic beverages on tap, but I had a slight headache so I went with the strawberry lemonade. Quite tasty and refreshing! I wonder if they would have charged me for a refill...hmm I didn't get one because I didn't want to pay for more, but now I'm thinking that only applies to alcoholic beverages. Yes, I am a cheap Asian.

Service was prompt and friendly. Also, I wanted to take my food home, so I asked for a take-out friendly container for my ranch dipping sauce. They were super polite and accommodating in getting it for me.

Anyway, their happy hour specials are pretty good. Parking is way easy to find, especially compared to that other Cupertino HH hotspot, BJ's. I'll definitely recommend this as a gathering spot in the future.

first step in here the decor made me partially feel like I'm in Africa. I love them giraffes!! anyway a friend and I came in for happy hour. drinks can range from $2~$5 and we ordered:

-Mai tai: super delicious. you can't taste much of the alcohol
-sangria: more fit for wine people
-house mojito: super strong :(
-sweet potatoe fries: not a soggy piece found :)
-spinach artichoke dip: come with a side of tortilla chips. can't taste artichoke, but very delicious!!

our waitress, Regina, was very polite with us throughout our time at elephant bar. as long as the drinks make us a bit dizzy, we'll come here again someday!

Thank you Costco for giving us 20% off a gift card!

Anyways, I'm not a fan of elephant bar. I didn't go by choice. Elephant Bar is a confused restaurant. It claims an African safari theme, but the food is mostly Asian inspired with pockets of traditional American, creole, Mexican, southeast Asian, and Chinese. In a world full of a restaurants, a company should find its niche and embrace it. Pairing foods that don't belong together obviously don't mix.

The service here is pretty good with many servers willing to attend to your needs, so that's a positive, but the food is mediocre, lacking great flavors that draw people back to eat.

Elephant Bar, improve your food.

Elephant Bar is great for lunch. I do not like it for dinner. Here is the good news. You can find variety of delicious dishes with great tastes. Bad news! If you are on a diet you wont find anything below 500-600 calories.

Every time I order something new so you will see my future updates with another dish!

I had NY Steak sandwich it was cooked well done though it was a little bit fatty (which I did not like this part). It came with fries and bread. The taste was good. I like the tomato with cheese and basil on the side. To be honest fries did not really taste good. I guess it was not fresh. For steak lovers I recommend it.

Service was great. There was a very nice girl who served us in here. She was so good and I am very happy for the service.

Going here as a kid, I thought this place was over priced and the food was mediocre. After coming here with a group of friends for my girlfriend's birthday, the food has just never improved from then on.

The atmosphere is cool, I mean it is jungle/safari like to keep up with the theme. I just don't understand how people still manage to come here and keep this place so packed! Elephant certainly reminds me of a Cheesecake Factory, BJ's, Yard House type of deal and I would much rather drop money at those places.

The menu looks appetizing. It is cool they provide you with the amount of calories you are going to intake (but it shouldn't matter anyway because you are eating out...so it is expected to intake over 1000 calories!). I decided to go with a salad, the Citrus Glazed Salad to be exact. Sure the portion was decent, but the taste was so odd! It was sour (to capture the "citrus" taste) and the chicken was SOO DRY! The chicken was grilled and burnt. You could see the chicken being able to shred itself because of how dry it was. The cabbage wasn't doing justice to the dish. It almost made the flavor of the salad more off....

My gf got the Santa Barbara Burger with a side of Mac & Cheese. Now that portion size was SMALL! The burger was dry...and tasteless. TBH even the Mac and Cheese was better than everyone else's dish.... I should have just gotten an order of the Mac and Cheese!

The service I have to say is 4 stars. The people are friendly and super accommodating. Other than that, if I am going to drop $20 on a meal, I think I'd much rather go elsewhere.

Came here on a weekday afternoon. There was a huge wait, but my boyfriend and I decided to sit at the bar. No wait there and you can eat too. They have lunch specials every day until 4pm which is great, especially for the weekend.

We ordered the Chicken Marsala, came with chicken, mashed potatoes, and spinach, and the Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger. Food came out in exactly 15 minutes. I'm not going to say the food was delicious, but it definitely got the job done with no complaints. I would say the food here is like an in between of Chili's and Cheesecake Factory. We were on a time crunch to get to the movies, so getting in and out of this place with satisfied bellies on a budget was the goal. Overall, I was pretty happy with my visit here, nothing bad to say. The bill came out to be like $20 for 2 entrees which is pretty good!

We came here for a little family celebration. The food was fantastic, the service outstanding and the drinks were strong (Hubby was stumbling a bit when we left). Dad had their summer BBQ special - ribs, chicken, fish, cole slaw, cob corn. It was huge and delicious!! Speaking of cob, Mom had the Cobb salad and ate every, last bite!! The teenager had a jalapeno burger and she was fierce about keeping it to herself (selfish child - I just wanted a little bite!) Hubby had some sort of tropical salad with shrimp and crab. It was fresh and yummmmmy! Oh yes, I had the EB version of a Caprese salad, and the Crab and Shrimp Wedge. I was so stuffed afterwards, I barely had room to mooch off of my daughter's chocolate dessert.

It was a successful lunch in every way and we can't wait to go back! Thanks again, EB. *kisses*

I'm surprised this place only has 3 stars!

This is my favorite place to go with my family. The atmosphere is light and fun, the food is fairly priced, and the food tastes great. I love their smokehouse sandwich and their shrimp scampi in lobster sauce!

I haven't had a bad experience yet and I will continue to go here every time I'm back home with my parents!

Elephant bar has been a family favorite since high school. We used to drive to the campbell location and were super excited to find out there was one opening down the street from us. It's been at least 7 years and it's still our go to place whenever everyone can't agree on where to go. The menu is so big that there's no way anybody won't be able to find something they don't like.

I used to always get the smokehouse chicken sandwich and my mom would get the lamb shank and we would share but then my mom screwed it all up and stopped getting the lamb shank. I got the lamb shank this last time around and it was just as delicious as I remembered it being. Super duper tender and the meat just falls right off the bone. I have to say I was a little disappointed in the vegetables that came with it though. It seemed like it came from a bag :[

My BF loved his jambalaya even though his garlic bread was cold. My dad got the chicken teriyaki and it was forgettable. I find we always tend to be disappointed in the asian inspired dishes. There is always some sort of coupon or deal going on (You can get gift cards for a discount at costco) and the menu is super affordable. The waiters are always nice so it will remain a family favorite.

The last time I ate at Elephant Bar, we experienced the slowest service ever in all of my Elephant Bar experiences. It took what felt like forever (5ever, even) for the server to arrive and 10 more minutes just to get us ice water. When bringing out the salad, the server only brought one of the two and failed to bring dressing on the side as specified, for both salads. The server was nice, but that doesn't quite make up for how inattentive and slow he was. I mean, come on, we came on a slow day, at one of the slowest times (4:30pm). How can you get so many things wrong with less people to worry about!

My parents and I ordered the shrimp sampler platter and the mongolian beef. The shrimp sampler platter was nothing special, but the mongolian beef was delicious. The beef was tender, the sauce was flavorful but not overpoweringly so, and everything went amazingly with the brown rice. I was pleasantly surprised that they even had the option of brown rice rather than white. Extra star just for the mongolian beef. They finally did something right!

Ordering the 3-course meal for $3 extra (some coupon promotion) was not a bad idea either, solely because of the dessert. I recommend getting the brownie over the wonton ice cream sundae! The sundae is literally a giant scoop of vanilla ice cream with some drizzled sauces in a crispy wonton bowl. The warm brownie with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream is definitely worth more in comparison. The salad portion of the 3-course meal deal is actually quite small, especially when compared to the portion sizes of the entrees.

Would I come again? Probably, my mom loves the place for some reason and their usual appetizer sample platter is not bad at all. Buuut, I'll just have to keep reminding myself to expect less from their servers.
