I've been here a couple times but never liked it. Only went because a few of my other friends choose it as their go-to spot. Last night made me realize that I'm never coming back.
We had about 5 people in our group, and the lady made us go into their medium room, which was $50 per hour and can fit many more people. We asked for a smaller room, but she said none were available. That seemed kind of strange since the parking lot was completely empty and the place was very quiet. However, we decided to not think much of it and took the room anyways. We ordered a plate of chicken wings, which was not good at all. There was about 8 pieces on there and it had no flavor whatsoever.
When it came time for us to pay for the bill, we saw that the chicken wings cost $18.99 (total rip off), making our total $68.99. However, the owner rounded up and told us the total was $70, AND he even had the nerve to ask for tip when we only gave him $70.
My experiences here have been nothing but negative. The place has horrible service, tries to take your money for crappy service, and doesn't even update their songs list. I feel like I'm being monitored by my grandparents every time I come here. Definitely not coming back. I'd rather go down the street to other karaoke places where they offer better service.
We should have turned away as soon as we were at the door. Right when we got out and walked up to the entrance, we were confronted by a gentleman with glasses who seems to be the manager/owner and at first, were denied access from going in. After trying to understand what he was saying, we were told that we weren't allowed to go in unless we kept our purses in our car. We were only allowed to carry small size purses/wristlets. At first, we were stunned but after reading on Yelp, its because of an issue with people sneaking in alcohol. We ended up leaving our purses in the car and were given a small room ($30/hr). We ordered fruit combo (27$) and a bottle of pomegranate wine ($20)
The rooms reek of cigarette smoke even though they said that there is no smoking allowed. The lady who helped us in was really nice but had no idea what she was talking about (i.e wine) We asked if the wine was a large bottle, suited enough for a party of 6. She said yes, perfect size (checked all of our IDs) and we went with the wine. She came back with a fruit platter which was a nice treat but totally not worth the price. The wine she brought in was such a fail. The wine bottle was 8 inches. An 8 inch bottle for a party of 6!? What the hell woman! Oh my god. We finished that after the 2nd round of shots. As for the music, there was a lot of old songs that were fun to sing to and brought back high school memories -- but they have a minimal to almost no selection of new songs from 2010+ or we couldn't find them.
When we went to go pay, the owner kept asking for a tip. Wth? Definitely won't be back again
PROS:
- button in the room to call for service, nice touch
Haven't been here in forever, that last night's venture showed me that they now serve alcohol. Definite plus, get drunk and sing your lungs out.
Our room got super hot, that someone had to tell them to up the AC. Good selection of songs, but could really use some update on their videos that play in the background.
