I've been here a couple times but never liked it. Only went because a few of my other friends choose it as their go-to spot. Last night made me realize that I'm never coming back.
We had about 5 people in our group, and the lady made us go into their medium room, which was $50 per hour and can fit many more people. We asked for a smaller room, but she said none were available. That seemed kind of strange since the parking lot was completely empty and the place was very quiet. However, we decided to not think much of it and took the room anyways. We ordered a plate of chicken wings, which was not good at all. There was about 8 pieces on there and it had no flavor whatsoever.
When it came time for us to pay for the bill, we saw that the chicken wings cost $18.99 (total rip off), making our total $68.99. However, the owner rounded up and told us the total was $70, AND he even had the nerve to ask for tip when we only gave him $70.
My experiences here have been nothing but negative. The place has horrible service, tries to take your money for crappy service, and doesn't even update their songs list. I feel like I'm being monitored by my grandparents every time I come here. Definitely not coming back. I'd rather go down the street to other karaoke places where they offer better service.
We should have turned away as soon as we were at the door. Right when we got out and walked up to the entrance, we were confronted by a gentleman with glasses who seems to be the manager/owner and at first, were denied access from going in. After trying to understand what he was saying, we were told that we weren't allowed to go in unless we kept our purses in our car. We were only allowed to carry small size purses/wristlets. At first, we were stunned but after reading on Yelp, its because of an issue with people sneaking in alcohol. We ended up leaving our purses in the car and were given a small room ($30/hr). We ordered fruit combo (27$) and a bottle of pomegranate wine ($20)
The rooms reek of cigarette smoke even though they said that there is no smoking allowed. The lady who helped us in was really nice but had no idea what she was talking about (i.e wine) We asked if the wine was a large bottle, suited enough for a party of 6. She said yes, perfect size (checked all of our IDs) and we went with the wine. She came back with a fruit platter which was a nice treat but totally not worth the price. The wine she brought in was such a fail. The wine bottle was 8 inches. An 8 inch bottle for a party of 6!? What the hell woman! Oh my god. We finished that after the 2nd round of shots. As for the music, there was a lot of old songs that were fun to sing to and brought back high school memories -- but they have a minimal to almost no selection of new songs from 2010+ or we couldn't find them.
When we went to go pay, the owner kept asking for a tip. Wth? Definitely won't be back again
PROS:
- button in the room to call for service, nice touch
Haven't been here in forever, that last night's venture showed me that they now serve alcohol. Definite plus, get drunk and sing your lungs out.
Our room got super hot, that someone had to tell them to up the AC. Good selection of songs, but could really use some update on their videos that play in the background.
You ever have one of those Monday nights where one thing leads to another. Â This is one of those nights.
It was my friend's Jess D.'s birthday and we went to Harumi's in Cupertino, where I definitely recommend you to go to if you want to shout at the top of your lungs and get sake bombs on any weekday, but not for their sushi.
We finished getting ratchet here and somehow in the blur of the night, we made it to this place.
Now,  this place is amazing for many reasons, as they have a full bar and the service is really friendly, but the best thing about this place is that they do not harass you to buy  food and drinks.  I know a lot of places have a drink minimum or food minimum. Â
It's funny, because I am seeing a lot of negative reviews on this place and maybe because we went out on a Monday and it was not packed, so they were nice to us.
The food was hot, fresh, and delicious and the wait staff are friendly and attentive without interrupting the flow of your evening. Some of the furnishings are getting a little worn and the sound system still had wired and wireless mics. The wired mic had a lot of issues over the evening, regularly coming unplugged from a very loose socket or the cable not being long enough to reach the back bench at the table.
The song selection is okay, a good selection of recent English hits and plenty to love for those that want to rock out in Chinese or Korean. Plus, they have a book of just the updates from the last few months, but you have to remember to ask for it.
If Arirang is booked, this place is worth a try.
They have gratuity charge here when all they do is steal your alcohol and check up on you mid-song to see if you smuggled in some liquor. Â The music book is organized hella weird. They mix all their languages into 1 page which is weird and makes it hard to find the new song lists.
While chatting with the owner about their bar options, the owner poured my friends and I some Strawberry Soju (which sucked like hell by the way). I didn't ask for it so I automatically assumed that it was on the house I told him we were having a birthday event in our room.
I came back out to buy some beer and then when I went to pay for the beer, he had the Soju on the bill... So the owner friggen poured me a drink and charged me without me asking for the drink. Good game. So I just payed up so that my friends wouldn't know about the charge of alcohol since I told them that it was on the house from the owner. Good game.
This place sucks.
Selection here is pretty good but we had a large room and ordered one bottle of water. Â When it came down to the bill, we got charged tip on the overall cost (room and the one bottle of water) as a service charge. Â Last time I check the good ol' law book, you need to state a service charge somewhere.
Also the workers barged in a few times and kept turning on the lights. Â I'm not sure if they're checking on us to see if we left or not but we just came to sing.
One thing I really don't like is shadiness. Shady owners who tries to rip people off are the worst. Hate themm! Sadly, an impression I got of Renaissance is exactly that. Shady!
A bunch of us went to Renaissance late Sat night and got their biggest room. First, the song selections were ALRIGHT. They didn't have many of the newer songs but they had a lot of the older songs from the 90s even the 80s which were fun to sing to but newer ones would have be fun too. They didn't have a lot of Chinese song selections either. Not even Jay Chou, can you believe it?!?!?!?! WHYYYYY?!?!
Anyway, Â we were in there for a total of 4 hours (at $70/hour...dang!). Throughout the time we were there, the owners kept barging into our room and turning on the light and then leaving. WTH?!? They literally barged in. Later I found out from my friend they do this because they were afraid people would leave one by one and not pay. Ok, understandable, but still annoying and kind of rude!
We left around 2 (I guess it's really 3am since it was day light savings haha) and we were at the register about to pay. The owner charged us an extra $42 for TIP!!!!!!!!!! I don't know why tip was associated with karaoke so of course I had to ask what the tip was for. He ignored me a few times. So I stopped him from counting the money (that we still weren't ready to hand to him yet since people were still putting in $) and asked him. He said, "food" UMmm..WHAT FOOD?? You mean our 1 bottle of water that you charged us $2 for?? Ridiculous. Sh-sh-sh-shady shady! I refused to pay for tip and he took it off our bill without a fight. Crazy.
I went here a few years ago, then again a couple times just a year ago.
I think this is the better place to karaoke because the rooms are very nice and clean. Kind of reminds you of your very own personal night club to sing in.
Rooms are a little more expensive than others in the area, but for the quality of the room it's worth it! Other places have just plain white rooms small tvs. These rooms seem to be better furnished and decorated with large tvs.
And the best part is alcohol is allowed! They don't allow any outside alcohol, but they have a menu of drinks and food that you can order from.
I've never had a really bad experience here. Reading all the bad reviews I am a little surprised! Or maybe lucky? I was even given a free 40oz for my birthday.
I dock off 1 star because the owners can be sneaky. Sometimes they'll tell you a small room is unavailable just so you will take the larger room for more money. One time I didnt want to upgrade, so I was just about to walk out when they said a room JUST opened up. She commented that we were all small girls so we should be able to fit--that kind of felt like she would have preferred a group of our size in a larger room, but who knows! haha at least we got our room.
We came here because we wanted to drink and sing all night long. Â It closes at 4 AM so that's definitely doable. Â When we got there at around 10 PM on a Saturday, it was crowded. Â We had to wait about 15 minutes (they said we only had to wait 5) for a room to clear. Â I understand this is prime singing time but it's best to underestimate and overdeliver. Â We got into the room and there was still food bits on the torn cushions. Â One of the mics was slightly broken (sound kept going in and out) but at least it worked. Â
Our favorite part of the experience was ringing the doorbell for the guy to come and get our order. Â Hands down. Â We ordered more beer just we could use it. Â We also ordered a lemon drop ($5), squid ($20??), bottles of water ($2 each) and a liter of [OB] beer (said it was $16 if I remember correctly). Â The lemon drop was absolutely, hands down, terrible. Â GROSS. Â Tasted like warm (yes the temperature itself was warm) lemon juice with 0 alcohol. Â Maybe the lemon juice effectively masked the alcohol? Â The WATER was colder than the beer. Â Ugh. Â Squid was delicious and it was awesome grossing out my other friends with it. Â On second thought, that may have been the best part of the experience.
The mix of songs was pretty standard. Â Pretty bummed they didn't have Jewel's You Were Meant for Me (a classic drunk karaoke song) but they did have Alanis, Sisqo (THONG SONG!), and Aqua, to name a few.
I don't think I'd come back here unless my friends wanted to. Â Just too expensive and not pros to outweigh the cons.
Came here one random night this past summer with 6 other people, I think. Confidence drink = OB. We all had a blast going down memory lane, and singing while standing on the table. Lol. Definitely butchered the newer songs, sadly. But it was still definitely fun.
We were stuck getting the large rooms because they ran out of smaller rooms, but since we were already there, might as well right? I think we were only supposed to stay for like an hour. An hour turned into four hours. Did some major damage.
Big remote. And since we can't read Korean, some of the buttons were hit-or-miss, even with the color. Many books of songs. Many songs to choose from.
It was my friend Luan's birthday on Thursday and we wanted to continue celebrating on Friday night. Initially, we settled on bowling, but we later came to the executive deicison that bowling would not nearly be as exhilarating as karaoking.
It didn't look like much from the outside, but on the inside, it actually had a decent set up. I've never been karaoking before so I really didn't know what to expect.
We were led to a room with a TV, books of songs, and a menu. Realizing how pricey the alcoholic beverages were, my quick-witted friends went across the street to a liquor store.
A bottle of hennessy at this place is over $100. No, it's not the large size. After going to the liquor store? Probably no more than $30 and it was enough for everyone!
I haven't had this much fun in so long. I really don't think anything can top your friends being drunk and singing songs like Usher - You Got It Bad and O-Town's All Or Nothing. To finish the night off, the boys sang "Dick in a Box." I must say, it was pretty amazing.
I think we were there for about 3 hours. The bill was about $115. I left them a $20 tip but my friends said I shouldn't have because they didn't actually serve us. I don't understand how it's supposed to work -- but I left the tip nonetheless.
I would definitely come back here to karaoke again, which is something I'd never thought I'd ever say because I'm quite a terrible singer. I've got a high pitched voice and I'm pretty sure I'm tone deaf. The fact that I played piano for 5 years didn't seem to help either. But either way, I had SO MUCH FUN! Furthermore, I feel like karaoking can be pretty forgiving because I managed to score 100 on a song I sang which makes absolutely no sense.
I'd advise everyone to bear in mind the group of people you're going with. I had the best time because I was with people who weren't afraid to sing or be silly. For our favorite songs, we all sang together at the top of our lungs. When you are with the right people enjoying the music and slightly intoxicated, you don't even think about if people think you suck or not, you're just having a blast.
where the hell do I even start..
Long story short:
They took advantage of the fact that we were all tipsy and added on charges that were ridiculous! saying that we ordered all these bottles when we didnt!! they added TAX? first of all.. those korean places do NOT add tax.. let alone they start adding their own TIP?? Â Never going there again. spent $500 just to SING and get some drinks?
its ridiculous how much they charge people just to sing some songs in a room.. Â we should have just "dined and ditched" LOL
Good:
- They close at 4am
- They serve food and drinks in the private rooms
- You can sneak in a bottle of alcohol and not get in trouble
- Their music selection is alright.
Bad:
- They're freakin' pricey!
My nursing friends and I were there for like 2 and half hours and our bill was almost $400. Are you fucking kidding me?
1. Music selection is limited. I suggest Camino ctv. There's no alcohol, just pregame before hand ;)
3. The AC was broken so customers were sweating..gross
3. Our waitress was hella rude. After bringing our bill, she reminded us repeatedly that tip wasn't included.
4. We paid in cash but needed change for all those who over paid. She said there wasn't change available but then said she would check. When she left, she slammed the door...... this place gets large crowds all the time. shouldnt they be use to providing change?
I haven't ever been to any other karaoke place, so I don't have much to compare this to. Â But I do know this place is kinda located in the ghettos. Â The room we got was pretty big, but couldn't fit more than maybe 20 people and we had a pretty big group with us. Â We people sitting in the floor. Â We ordered a bottle of strawberry soju. Â It was pretty good but for a pitcher that wasn't even filled up it cost $18.00 and you could drink the entire bottle and still not be drunk. Â
We got in trouble for bringing in our own alcohol, but she didn't take anything away. Â We got in around 10:30 and left around 1:30 and our total was $207. Â I read another review that said there was only 10-20 english songs so I wasn't too optimistic when we got there, but they had a pretty good song selection, way more than just 20 songs, and a lot of them were new. Â The place was clean and the service was not bad. Â I'd say a solid 3 stars.
Hey, I really like this place! It makes me wonder why I have been succumbing to criminal behavior, sneaking in alcohol into other karaoke places down the street, when I could have just came here and ordered alcohol like a proper person!
Renaissance Room Karaoke is unlike the other karaoke places along El Camino Real, as they serve both food and alcohol here. Albeit the food isn't the best, but it is better than nothing. Their private rooms are spacious and clean. The entire place was very well decorated. My friends and I had a party of about 20 people and we got the 'large' private room for about $70/hour? I can't really remember how much it cost, but I do remember that it was a fairly reasonable price. The room had a huge U-shaped plush couch that was more than enough for all of us to sit comfortably. They had a lot of new modern American songs to sing to too.
Like every other establishment that serves alcohol, they had a time-cap, but they were pretty lenient about it. Our birthday boy had his head in a garbage can and they were nice enough to not kick us out. Our group had a good time and I will definitely be back!
The only place in the area I know that serves alcohol inside! They open really late, until 4am and the rooms are decent sized. They serve beer, sake and you can buy bottles of whiskey and such. If you don't finish it, you can store the bottles there for next time!
Once I came with friends and we had to wait for a room. The owner was so cool, and drank with us at the bar. The food is really good here, but be careful because you can rack up a big bill easily. A fruit platter was $28. The dried fish was my favorite here, and they have tons of authentic Korean snacks.
Song selections are ok, but not as current as some other places. The rooms are nice though, and they have laser beam lights that give the room a party atmosphere. Anyhow, I always have fun here when I come. Just go early because it gets packed pretty quickly and you never know how long a group will take in their rooms!
This place serves overpriced alcohol ($17 for a bottle of chamisul soju and a cheap yogurt juice and they mix it in the room). Â $17.99 dduk bok gi no thanks! Â They should post the menu to publicly declare how ridiculous their prices are. Â The one good thing is that they do not have a $200 minimum on food on top of the room fee like Playground.
And yes, I saw the "Folex" guy mentioned in another review and it is sleazy in there compared to the innocent place it was before! Â Service is pretty bad, they are just out for their dollar$. Â The lady tried to convince us to pay 15% tip for the food AND karaoke room by combining the food and room bill. Â Who charges tip for the karaoke room? Â Really? Â I would never come here again. Â Rip-off! Â
They get 10-20 Engrish songs and they are mixed in the white one-inch binder with other languages. Â Most of the songs are old but they have a good selection of Korean songs (which I don't listen to anymore...).
I like Arirang down the street much better.
The owner tried not to accept a 20% coupon that did not have an expiration date. Â It's not about the money, it's about the principle of issuing 20% coupons then not accepting it because the tab is a couple hundred bucks. Â
Also, inside the room they had a sign promoting a "Buy 1 get one 1 free alcohol for their 2-year anniversary celebration." Â After the owner realized we were ordering drinks two at a time, he came into our room and ripped down the sign. Â Upon paying the tab he tried to bill us at normal drink prices.
This business is run by an unethical man who look likes a sleezy salesman in a cheap suit wearing a Folex (ie. fake Rolex). Â If you want to run a successful business try offering better customer service.
I use to love this place when Mr. Lee was the owner. Â Free bottled waters and comp'd appetizers for big groups. Â Sigh...
Solid four stars for awesome owners, tolerant waitresses, mouthrinse in the bathroom (but no more...), good fried chicken wings, and a great truckload full of memorable moments.
The english song selection is ok. Â they have some good pop and rock songs (generally those popular amongst the korean crowd), and a few that are occasionally updated (ie they have gaga, muse, that tik tok song) but the sound system is only okay.
the rooms are decorated very nicely though and the service is great. Â You are not allowed to bring in outside alcohol, but they serve beer and soju (not flavored) before 2am.
I think the korean song selection is pretty good and up to date. Â The chinese song selection is a bit on the weak side.
Renaissance looks a little shady from the outside, but it's actually quite the classy karaoke joint. Â My friends and I stopped by for a two-hour session after dinner and had a great time.
We were put in the "Myth" room and it was pretty nice. Â Nothing luxe, but everything was clean, nothing was taped up, and there were no holes in the upholstery. Â As you can see, I've been in some unattractive karaoke rooms.
The song selection was standard, with lots of Korean and Japanese songs and a small but crucial list of English hits in the back. Â We sang "Summertime," "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Say It Ain't So," "Gangsta's Paradise" and the like, with dramatic Korean depictions of car accidents and cancer streaming on the screen.
We ordered some pomegranate wine and the bill was still pretty reasonable for five people. Â I want to say we paid around $15 a head. Â Renaissance was reasonable for the amount of fun we got out of it, and I'll keep it in mind for my next visit to the bay.
Nice ambiance, big rooms with tables, and a pretty good sound system. Didn't really try the food, so can't comment.
Downsides: the song choices are sort of weaksauce. it took me forever to find my girl taylor swift's you belong with me, and most of the songs are written in korean or organized by song name, not artist.
pricing came out to be around 13 bucks per person for 11 people in a large room, but we could have easily fit five more people in that room, so it would have been cheaper.
Will come here again. Â The owners were really chill, the rent-a-cop was all smiles and very friendly. Â We got the biggest room ($70/hr) and it had such a plush large couch, I made people take their shoes off before they stood on it to belt out the songs. Â English election was a little slimmer and hard to find, but they had enough good stuff to last us 4 hours. Â The yogurt soju isn't as good as The Playground in SF, but this place is a lot cheaper, and a lot bigger. Â Plus a lot closer. Â Will come here again.
P.S. Â Open til 4am!
First time here was pretty nice; they have several recent songs, though I hoped for more. As always the list of songs are difficult to find, you have to look at the very last few pages to find them and they arent in any order. I dont think they had a function to search songs by title/author.
Rooms get kinda steamy and hot after awhile. But I have to give them a few stars for being open late as hell. The price wasnt so bad for a small room, something like $60 for 2 hours and 6 ppl
This is definitely one of the nicer Korean karaoke bars. The rooms are decorated nicely and are very simple: karaoke machine, flat-screen TV, wrap-around booth seating, HUGE table with cushioned edges. The best part is the LIGHT DIMMER and those damned tambourines. I was a little disappointed they didn't have a few of my karaoke favorites in their songbook, but we sufficed.
When you step out of the room, it is kind of weird hearing all the separated parties going on in all these 15x15 rooms.
One question: Why is the table so damn huge if you're not allowed to dance on them?!
Great song selection (except there's no real order as to how they're organized in the songbook), WONDERFUL party-size room. Â Also, the staff were extremely friendly and polite, and always willing to help when people in our group of fifteen would drunkenly press the call button for even more alcohol or dead batteries in the mic. The fact that they were so nice is definitely a big factor for me.
BUT even though I don't drink, it ended up being 30 bucks a person because people got carried away. Â And then, the woman gave us our bill, and emphasized that the tip wasn't included in the total yet, and that tip was 15%. Â She REALLY wanted to drive that point home to us.
We got free food and a free bottle of beer because we already purchased so much alcohol, but honestly, I would have rather paid for food that I'd actually consume than pay for an insane amount of drink that I didn't touch. Â Overall, a rather pricey karaoke place, and the whole booze thing is only a plus if that's what you really want.
The good: big rooms, large seating area, vast selection of relatively new songs in many languages, serves alcohol.
The bad: expensive because they serve alcohol.
We were there for no more than 2.5 hours and the bill was over $300 for about 10 folks. That was more expensive than the dinner that we had before the karaoke!
Never coming back.
I have mixed feelings about this place. Â It's just as overpriced as all of the other karaoke places in the area. Â They have an OK current song selection, like Empire State of Mind, most Lady Gaga singles, and dare I say it...Party in the USA. Â It's kind of buried in the binder though, which is (dis)organized by song title. Â It's soooo much harder to browse the binder when it's by song title and not by artist. Â The more current songs are hard to find because they occasionally add pages of "current songs' as they go along, instead of adding them in the actual binder in alphabetical order. Â So the newer English songs are mixed on a page with the newer Korean/Chinese/Japanese songs, and then there are several sheets of those newer songs. Â If you were quickly flipping through the binder, you'd totally miss the new songs.
I think your experience kind of depends on what kind of room you end up getting. Â If you get too large of a room, you just lose that intimate feeling you want to have with your friends. Â I was put in a large room with a party of about 10. Â It's not like we were all sitting at one time so the room felt a bit empty when half of the group was standing and singing. Â The table in the middle of the room is unnecessarily large. Â We bought in some alcohol but maybe an hour in, an older female employee burst through the door and tried to confiscate it but luckily we had consumed it all. Â I think it's safe to assume that there are security cameras in the rooms. Â The mics didn't work too well and as others have mentioned, the mics are wired.
A few positive things I can say about the place is that they'll swap your Korean remote control for an English labeled one if you ask and the velvety seats are pretty nice, even though people like me probably stand and stomp all over them.
Came here for my buddy's bday party, and overall it was a reallllllly good time!!! The boys were the superstars that night (picture: 4 grown men, standing on the couches, arms around each other, an offbeat sway, eyes closed) and I have no doubt they'd give this place 5 stars (also cuz they probably don't remember anything from that night). Â
It totally reminds of Ktv in Taiwan....def not as nice and cushy...but very similar idea. Â Nice rooms with some disco lighting, pretty high end music systems, and a waitress bringing lots of alki on request. Â The only issue I had was paying at the end, there was an even bigger group of people (maybe 20 people to our 15) trying to pay and it was chaotic. Â i wanted a listed receipt with everything on it so I could properly calculate, but the cashier man was busy b/w our group and the other group so he quickly orally listed everything. Â And that cashier guy and the manager man reminded me of asian mobsters in their suits. hahah. Â
It ended up being $318 for the room ($70/hr), a few bottles of OB and a few bottles of soju - we all paid $31 each. Â So it was cheaper than a night out at the bars at least.
I wouldn't mind coming back here again!
I am not and had never been a big fan of karaoke. Neither am I a big fan of alcohol. (That's not to say that I can't sing or can't drink =P)
Equipment wise, Renaissance beats Gamba hands down. Updated sound system, nice sound proof room with disco lights. Although I was mildly annoyed by the wired mics. Some might like  the cozy atmosphere at Gamba more but that is purely personal preference.
The English song selection is limited. The song book is arranged by titles only and that makes it rather hard to navigate. All the new titles are listed at the last section in the song book. You have to browse through all the Korean and Japanese songs to find a certain English title.
The service is excellent. The staff are extremely courteous and accommodating. Did I mention this place doesn't close until 4am? This would have been a solid 4 star experience for me if not for the limited English song selection.
This place is much nicer and newer than Gamba. I'm not sure how big the biggest room in Gamba is, but we had one of the big rooms at Renaissance and it was pretty spacious and had disco balls...the lighting effects are def better at Renaissance vs Gamba (where there is none)...
However, I'd have to say Gamba's karaoke system is better...plus they have wireless mikes, whereas the ones we had here are wired.
the song ordering is also much more user friendly at Gamba...and a larger selection...it was kinda difficult to navigate through the song books here and the new songs have no order to them...
I did have a lot of fun but I'm not sure I'd come back?
I came here a couple times before with some Asian buddies. This Korean karaoke joint seems to have a formula for success:
Alcohol + Karaoke + Good Crowd = Fun
Unfortunately, the formula falls apart if you add "private room" to the equation (as it eliminates good crowd from the previous equation):
Alcohol + Karaoke + Private Room = Extremely overpriced, lackluster evening.
In a privater setting, you are stuck preforming for a group of 10 people (who are your friends or friends of friends). For karaoke afficionados, this sucks big time. Personally, I think the idea of paying big money to rent a small room in order to sing lame ballads over and over again is stupid.
I would be better off sitting at home with the same group of friends, drinking booze, eating chicken wings, and singing 15 times in a given night. Come to think of it, whoever came up with the "rent a karaoke room" idea probably had a fear of performing in front of strangers. Lame.
But I would much rather go out with that same group of a friends to a crowded karaoke bar with a stage and a dance floor. If I get to the rock the house a couple times in a given evening, I'm pretty much way more satisfied than doing private room karaoke. And of course, I get to save tons of money on the night.
So if you like to perform in front of tons of appreciate karaoke fans, then skip a place like this. However, if you are afraid of crowds, rock n' roll, and general fun - then by all means, head over to a joint like this and have fun singing while you sit on a couch in a crowded room.
FINALLY! A karaoke place with private rooms that serve ALCOHOL!!!! Wooohooo!
We went here over the weekend, because Veanne was feeling extra fobby and drunk after dinner. The only room they had left was $70/hour. When we were hesitant in taking it, they took it down to $50/hour for us. Score!
The style room was more like a restaurant, where there was a table in the center where you can eat at. We ordered a few beers and soju bottles, and they gave us service of onion pancakes and dried squid.
Total for the bill was $180, with tax came out to $210. Not that pricey, considering the room could easily fit 20 people in it.
The system was great, and easy to use. My only complaint is not enough English songs....at least in the book I had....oh, and one of our mics wasn't cordless. That REALLY sucks when everyone is faded, and there's beers all over the table.
I would come here again, and would have my friends go here if we were ever in the mood to be that fobby again. :) Â Oh,you can totally sneak alchi in too.
-1 star for not having hot tea or warm water. Â :( Â How can you have a full kitchen, yet not have a microwave? :(
I was meeting a couple of my coworkers here and I don't know how but I managed to get lost in what seems like a never-ending journey. When I finally got here (after an hour of getting lost), I was surprised at how modern this place looked from the inside. The outside, ehh...not so much. The rooms here are more private than the other karaoke places I've been to. I love the setup in the rooms. There's a big U-shaped couch with a coffee table right in the middle. There's a button that you can press right next to the light switch for service..and they seriously come almost immediately.
My favorite part about this place is that they serve food and ALCOHOL! No more sneaking in our drinks or chugging it down in the parking lot to loosen ourselves up haha! The only thing stopping this place from being close to perfect is their collection of songs. They didn't have a lot of songs we were looking for and you know it's not always the same when you have to settle=[. Aside from that, this place is awesome but watch how much alky you order because it does add up and can get pretty pricey. I have no idea how much it was per hour since we didn't even bother to ask or look when we came in.
For six people...we spent 3.5 hours here, ordered a plate of chicken wings, 3 bottles of soju, 3 bottles of OB beer, and a bottle of Korean red wine for a total of $227. The overall fun we had and listening to a Korean boy melt my heart with his voice was absolutely priceless.
Price: Â Considering the fact we came here after Jujubees demanded our party of 10+ people to pay $20 per person to be seated and to be served, we more than happy to find a karaoke place that sold alcohol (since Jujubees was just a pre-game drinking place prior to hitting up a karaoke place). Â It worked out as we got food, drinks, and got to karoake all in the same room and venue with the bill being under $200. Â I thought the price was more than fair.
Service: Â I wasn't quite sure how service would be initially as we had to wait a long time to get a room (but we did have somewhat of a large crowd). Â They gave the girls in our group bottles of water for free while we were waiting which was what kept us from hitting up another spot (we appreciated their generosity). Â They had us wait inside and served us alcohol while we waited on the couches. Â They were nice enough to let us eat their grapes (which wasn't even on the menu - we think it was one of the employee's). Â Thank you! :) Â So service was cool.
Taste: Â They have Korean Beer (OB, Hite) and Soju (but not the cocktail soju). Â They have chicken and shrimp and a buncha other food you can order to have brought to your karaoke room. Â I didn't get to try the food (I just wasn't hungry) but all my friends enjoyed it and killed it.
Atmosphere: Â The rooms were spacious and clean. Â The bathroom is also clean and what we were so amazed about were the mouthwash dispenser leaving you with fresh breath as you sing! Â This is definitely one of the nicer karaoke rooms in the area. Â It was real chill.
What You'll Remember: Â The mouth wash dispenser in the bathroom... OH and the fact they are the only karoake place that sells alcohol (up to 2am - alcohol must be gone by 2am - they made that very clear to us).
Comment: Â This is was karaoke "rooms" are supposed to be like. Â This reminds me of an actual karaoke room in Korea (mainly because they actually serve alcohol). Â Apart from that, the service was pleasant and the system and selection is for the most part up to date. Â The tamborines are always a plus and the system rates you (I don't know accurate but it gives you a score at least). Â We were there for about 3 hours and had a lot of fun for a good price (which ended up like $15-20 per person).
Cheers,

A korean run karaoke box! Pretty new looking, 12 rooms, alcohol served until 2am(?), popular songs in english, korean, spanish, chinese and more. Was previously a karaoke box called Echo which I never went to, but heard was kinduva hole and is now a lot nicer.
Pretty standard karaoke room experience with good service and comfortable rooms. Staff was welcoming, was greeted in korean, the hostess regularly inquired if we needed anything. Song collection was not as extensive or up to date as we would have liked but we still had agood time. Didn't experience feedback, problems with the mic or any other technical problems except the scoring only works for Korean songs so it kept showing 0 at the end of every song (we're not *that* bad).
Knocked off a star for the songs not on the book and that they couldn't make change for a $20, otherwise no complaints.
