Went with my brother last night before going back to the west coast.  It was one of his friends birthday and we got some drinks and some appetizers.  The food was good and I was so glad to get same adams on tap.

Reason why I give this a five star is the staff was very patient with the group even though many of them were getting loud and silly as the drinks kept getting poured.

Gotta give it up to Escada, they have a good thing going.

I picked up some Chicken Marsala to-go and it was enough for 2 portions..easily.

We went back a few nights later for some drinks and had a great time. Good mix of locals, drinks were perfect, friendly bartenders, and the band was excellent!

Reminds me a little bit like the old Stuffies in NP..with better layout and better food.

Doesn't take much to be a regular here.  The bartenders are extremely cognizant and will remember your name/face/drink.

For the other two posts.. yes, this is a bar, however they do serve an extended menu rather than your typcial burger/mozzarella sticks/wings menu.  Some are a hit, some are a miss.

First time I came, I had the veal parm.  It was pretty damn good, considering it cost like $12 or something like that.  The marinara was good, definitely not bad... and the cheese they used was fresh mozzarella... very good.

The wings are great, the shrimp cocktail (i know right) is suprisingly good at $8 for 5.  The last ones i had were between U12-U14, so they were a very good size and an extemely good deal considering shrimp like that usually goes for $3-$3.50 a piece.  The cocktail sauce is very good as well.

Drink prices are normal for a bar...

Recommeneded for a nice updated bar.  Only complaint is the live music is as loud as balls.  The place is tiny and wide open, they don't need the live music THAT loud.

Escada is a bar that serves food rather than an actual restaurant.  Their website with the menu and pictures is trying to be more but really they only have about five tables and bar full of locals.

Entrees start with a soup or salad which is nice.  However the veal parm was utterly average.  The sauce was meh, the pasta overcooked.  I was in the area for some one-time biz but if I was in the area regularly I would skip this place.  There are far too many italian options in the Providence area to settle for this.

Totally forgetable in regards to the food.

So a friend asked me to go check out the band playing at Escada, since it is near my house, and her band plays there on occasion.. we we're doing a little scoping out of the competition..  shhh.

The place is new looking, seems to be a mix of a sports bar/italian restaurant/ music venue...oh how I love a place that tries to be a little of everything.  I will have to go back and try the food, but for now all I can say is it was a decent place to check out a cover band.  Was fairly crowded with your usual 40 something Johnston/North Providence Crowd, with a few Jersey Shore types mixed in for good measure.  The drinks we're moderately prices.. 4-5 bucks for a beer, and $6.50 for 1800 shots..  Wasn't super impressed with the bartenders.. spent alot of tim just sort of chatting with each other, or doing god knows what.. other than slanging drinks.. all in all.. it was a fun night.  Will check out the food and update.
