In Atlantic City have all the  chains  but this is a nice on the Bd walk Italian place coming from RI where I can get any great Italian food whenever.. made reservation on line .. walked in - sat immediately  menu all under 25... had blackened steak was great  Caesar salad good. Appetizer good. Cannot complain about anything worth the $  good eats good services
Review Source:Stopped at Evo on Wed for dinner, lured in by the $20 three course dinner. Â First and second courses were good...salad and bruschetta. Â Wife ordered salmon entree and I ordered oven roasted stuffed pork chops (pork Valletta?). Â When mine came there was a hair in the sauce. Â Not mine. Â They apologized and fired another. Â After a 15-20 min wait the next attempt arrived. Â This time the pork chops were raw. Â They tried to say the pink meat was ham in the stuffing but after my demonstrating the meat was raw they offered to do another. Â By this time I was ready to go elsewhere. Â They apologized and took my order from the bill. Â The wife's salmon while cooked was only so so. Â Find somewhere else to eat.....
Review Source:Ehhh, I had better. Stop by here because we stayed at Bally's and it was close by.
Mozzarella with prosciutto - I couldn't even believe the small portion and it was tasteless
Chicken Parm - Too breaded and it was a bit stale
Chicken Marsala - Really too sweet
Nothing I couldn't make at home.
love this place. been here more than 10 times. i prefer to go for breakfast or dinner. in my opinion their lunch is the worst. but its my go-to place if i wanna eat on the casino strip. my favorite thing here is the porkchops and roasted potatoes and apples. its delish!!! as for starters, i enjoy their prince edward mussels, seafood chowder, and antipasto salad. service here is good bc staff is super friendly.
they also have a pre fixe dinner for $20 and a pre fixe $13 for lunch sometimes. i only had the pre fixe dinner twice...extra fee may apply depending what you order...it does say it on the pre fixe menu though.
the atmosphere is wonderful, it is right on the boardwalk, during warm days they have outside seating. they have a semi open kitchen where you can see the food bring cooked.
After failing to get reservations in time and walking out of a place with an hour wait, I stumbled into Evo by sheer luck. And why not? It's Atlantic City right? My party was originally going to Carmines. What a travesty that would have been. It's not that carmines is bad. This place is just much better. I like the idea of their twenty dollar, three course meal. Getting a salad, appetizer, and entree for twenty bucks in Atlantic City is unheard of. I ordered the field greens salad, antipasto, and shrimp with pesto. The greens were lightly dressed. It was a good balance of sweet to the bitterness of the radicchio. The antipasto was okay. Nothing fancy, it was a few pieces of meat, cheese, and olives. The shrimp with pesto was the best part of the meal. I love basil and this place did it right. The sauce blended with the pasta beautifully; it was perfectly cooked. Evo did it right that night. I was desperate and they delivered beyond my expectations.
Review Source:I really thought I was going to get treated to something special seeing as this is a fine dining restaurant - not really the case. Customer service was pleasant, seated right away. This was about 5-6 pm on a Saturday night (St. Patty's weekend). Our waitress was genuinely nice and had no problem accommodating us. Food came out in a decent amount of time.
This was my first time ordering a 3 course meal, so initially I thought it would be good food, a little fancier tasting. First was the 5 onion soup, second the bruschetta, and main course was vongoli (or as they stated in plain English - clams and pasta in a white or red sauce).
The soup was very tasty! So tasty in fact that I came home wanting to reinvent the same thing in my kitchen. The bruschetta I was highly disappointed with -- the bread did not have any crispness to it and it was just piled high with fresh salsa that ended up soaking the bread. I've only had bruschetta one other time before - it was slightly crunchy with a sweep of roasted peppers and olive oil over it - so wonderful - just not the same. How I love myself some vongoli -- a BIG Italian comfort food for me. If I see it on a menu somewhere I always have to try it once. I had a love/hate relationship with this specific plate. The clams were cooked perfectly and very meaty. Pasta cooked well. The white wine sauce is what I criticize the most because it is my favorite part -- this sauce had great flavor - but, very salty AND instead of sauteing the garlic till it was soft, they actually threw in a heapful of thin sliced garlic, barely even cooked! I had to skirt around all the garlic to eat my pasta. Just a big nono. I guess they've had a pest control issue with vampires or something? Idk.
Maybe just a bad night, but it could have been better.
When all other restaurant options seemed to be packed, my friends and I wandered over to Evo, enticed by a 3 course meal for $20 advertising. Â There was a 30 min wait for our group of 6 on a Saturday night.
I ordered the garden salad, mozzarella and prosciutto and the pasta primavera. Â All were pretty good and over all a good deal for the price and a less expensive dinner in AC. Â Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food as well and most of us had plenty left over. Â We ordered 2 pitchers of Sangria for the table, which although was pretty tasty and refreshing- it was very weak and NOT worth the $32 per pitcher. (I seriously doubt there was any alcohol in there).
Just ok. I actually remember this place being better maybe 4-5 years ago? It was more focused on the pizza, which was very good, and tasted fairly authentic and definitely fresh-made. Now they pretty much push you to get the three-course $19.99 deal (with lots of choices running an extra charge of $1-10 each), and it feels much more generic, mass produced and honestly not much better than the Italian you'd get in a typical Jersey diner. We went last night before a concert at Boardwalk Hall (how we'd initially found Evo years ago), and couldn't even order the pizza because I guess they don't serve it now on concert nights? That's annoying.
Anyway my field green salad was ok but the dressing was too sweet and heavy. The antipasto plate was decent but pretty straightforward: some olives, peppers, sliced meat and cheese. My pasta was tolerable but really loaded with big chunks of garlic I had to pick out and didn't expect to find littering my plate like that. Â (I have a mild garlic intolerance so I would have been a real unhappy camper to have eaten all that garlic before a concert.)
All told I wouldn't really recommend this place anymore, except the service was decently fast and we did get in an out in an hour's time, perfect for before the show.
I came here for an early breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Â We were seated quickly and were waited on quickly as well. Â I ordered the scrambled eggs, sausage, and french toast. Â It was very good. Â It reminded me of a local diner by me. Â I would recommend Evo for a quick and tasty meal.
Review Source:I am giving EVO Rest and Lounge a full 4 stars just because their price was great, the food was great, the service was phenomenal, perfect location and the nice atmosphere that they have! Â The sign outside says "Gourmet" and for Atlantic City Boardwalk, it really is!!! Â
Four ladies having a blast in AC. Â Rainforest Cafe was too pricey and an hour and half wait (for mediocre food at that), so EVO was just the ticket. Â The choices in the immediate area were: Â Arthur Treachers Fish & Chips (no thank you), RainForest Cafe ($$$, long wait, and then they get you with the exit through the gift shop) and then EVO, elegant place, good crowd, bar, great Passionfruit SANGRIA, great deal for $19.95 (Appetizer, 1st plate and 2nd plate)
I enjoyed the field greens salad, prosciutto and cheese platter and my salmon!!! DELICIOUS!!! Â I am not a food snob but I am a foodie and EVO was located at the right place at the right time!!!
I think we ALL enjoyed our meals immensely! Â Grilled chicken and fettucini alfredo, striped bass, shrimp dish etc...everything was good and consumed heartily. Â
I say definitely give it a try if you can't find any other place.
Located right on the boardwalk, literally steps away from TRUMP and in front one of the Beach Bars! Â They have outdoor (Boardwalk) seating and in-door with AC!!!
Went came in on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar. $6 martinis?? Cant go wrong there. Food is reasonably priced and decent. The martinis were excellent. Ordered a BLT wrap, and there was TONS of bacon in it. So if you are a bacon lover, this is the sandwich for you. Service was good, however the kitchen was incredibly slow. We ordered an appetizer that came out with our meals.
If I ventured back to AC again, would I eat there again? Probably.
My two friends and I were walking on the boardwalk in search of a lunch spot with outdoor seating. Â We decided to dine at Evo. Â What a huge mistake! Â We waited about 20 minutes before someone even bothered to take our drink order and we probably waited another 20 minutes before we received our drinks and ordered our food. Â We all ordered a beer so how difficult could that be? Â We all opted for a salad and maybe 45 minutes later the waitress brought our food out. Â There were plenty of tables available and there were a few individuals who were seated after us, ate, and left before us. Â Two hours later, we finally left. Â This was the worst service I have ever received in a restaurant!
Review Source:Great location, very clean, and the food is great.
We try to have lunch here during the summer months.... Â and just sit outside, and people watch. Â Food is great... we usually order a pizza and salad. Â Prices are very reasonable also.
Great way to enjoy some food, and get some entertainment.
Avoidddddddddddd at all cost! Stale bread, old wine, and soup that tasted worst than canned. Looks nice with some decent food and a menu with an overly large variety (might be the first warning sign?). But salmon was very bland and soggy. Service is also all over the place.
I should have listened to the 2.5 star rating on Yelp.
The 10 dollar lunch specials were very nice and well portioned. It is a nice restaurant with very modern neutral decor. The server we had was not the greatest, but the rest of the staff was confident and well informed. All in all a very pleasant lunch experience. Definitely a great quick stop lunch for people staying at the trump
Plaza or just happen to stumble upon it on the boardwalk.
AVOID AVOID AVOID! Â All the help was hangover or high out of their minds except for the 1 girl. Â The food was cooked horribly, Â how do you screw up eggs over easy and sausage?? Â really?? oh em gee! Â
The waiter high out of his mind , couldn't count, couldn't take our orders, was slightly slurring.. the food took 35 min to arrive. Â The person who cooked the food deep fried the sausages till burnt. Â Â My friend ordered ham, he brought over bacon, my girlfriend asked for scrambled eggs he brought over easy.... Â we asked for water, he forgot, we asked for a fork 2 times till he brought one, the bill asked for 2 times... Â The waiter apologized repeatedly AND took 2 breakfasts off the bill, but STILL... Â AVOID AVOID!
Evo Restaurant is a Sbarro rest-stop pizza writeoff, with an overpriced NYC feel to it.
I really can't even remember what I tried here, this was how forgettable this place actually was. I had pasta and sauce and a salad. The sauce was very bland, it tasted like a fast food Sbarro corporate herd chain pizza sauce. Come to find out, one of the Sbarro owners owns Evo! What a coincidence [ if you believe in them ]
Very sub-par. Would never entertain eating here again.
We came here this past weekend on a Monday afternoon which was Columbus Day. This was the most appealing place on the boardwalk closest to Caesar's. It reminds me of a little bistro you would find in the city with decent indoor/outdoor seating.
It seemed decent enough, and we decided to sit inside to avoid the smoking. The atmosphere is casual, they have a full bar and plenty of seating. Since it was a holiday, we were surrounded by a bunch of really loud people which was a little overbearing at times. This is not the restaurant's fault of course.
They seemed to be understaffed because the waiter took his sweet time to come to us. We were hungry and sitting for a long time before we were even served a glass of water. Furthermore, the least they could have done is brought some bread out along with that, however, even that took a really long time for some reason.
The service when it actually did come was nice, especially considering we were on the AC boardwalk. The waiter was very knowledgable, sat down with us and recommended some things for vegetarians.
We ordered the mozzarella caprese for an appetizer which was sub par. I love fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, however, this was a little bland and I expected a little more taste. Maybe a little pesto, some truffle oil, peppers...I don't know, this thing just didn't really work for us. The "heirloom tomatoes," were dry and not very considerate. How do you expect guests to eat this?
Furthermore, we got the apple gorgonzola salad and margherita pizza. We had to ask for crushed red pepper and extra bread 3 times. The busboys were really nice, and so was the waiter, however their timing was  BIZARRE.
I would come here again given the opportunity because that salad was damn good and the waiter notified us of the fact that a lot of sauces have animal fat aka lard in them to make them that much tastier. It kind of made me think of everything I have eaten recently with sauce that may have had that....hmmm.
Ate breakfast here since we scanned the menu the night before while gambling in the casino.
Their breakfast menu is pretty straight forward- they offer several combinations of eggs, bacon/sausage, hash browns, pancakes, toast for about 7.99. They also have bagels and pastries.
Our server was very quick with our drinks and coffee, and was sure that my coffee cup was never empty. The food came our really quickly, and was good- nothing to write home about, but substantial and appropriate for the price.
The front windows/doors were all open and there was a really nice salty-sea air/breeze coming through. All in all- a good experience.
Came to this restaurant a few days ago because we saw the lunch special. The decor inside and out was nice so we thought we'd give it a chance. The first thing that turned me off was how little space there was between tables. I felt like a sardine, i heard everyone's conversation and felt like i was sitting on their laps.
Our waiter was horrible, i had to ask him for a straw 5 different times, and he didn't even return to re-fill our water glasses and check on how we were doing.
I ordered the hamburger and it was the blandest thing I've ever had in my life. It was like they just cooked the meat and left out the seasoning.
I would NEVER eat here at full price and forget ever again.
stopped by here for a quick snack during happy hour, they were serving $5 appetizers and $5 martinis, not a bad deal. Â They have a variety of drinks to choose from and about 5-6 appetizers: mussels, clams, calamari, chipotle chicken salad, ceviche, and fried mozzarella.
we picked the PEI mussels and the fried calamari. Â I was so surprised by the PEI mussels because it was so flavor packed! Â It is cooked with garlic chips and white wine. Â the mussel size was inconsistent and my boyfriend mentioned it was served slightly cold... Â I was so surprised by how mouthwatering it was, i ignored the other points. Â I'd say still give it a try. Â The calamari was ok too. Â Nice and crispy but very oily haha especially when they don't put that piece of paper underneath to soak the oil up... but overall, not a bad experience. the portion are petite, don't expect to get full from them, but perfect to pair with drinks :)
As we walked on the AC boardwalk, we decided to have lunch at Evo. Â The menu looked good at a good lunch price and the location was better than most other restaurants in the area (on the boardwalk with outdoor seating)...
Food: 3.0 stars
The food was standard in quality and above average in quantity. Â My fiance and I shared the prosciutto/mozzerella and the turkey club sandwich. Â The restaurant's food is a small step above your standard diner level offering, even if the exterior and vibe try to convince you otherwise.
Service: 2.0 stars
The hostess forgot to seat us even though there were only 3 people on the list. Â We waited at the bar far longer than needed only to realize she had totally forgotten. Â Our waitress asked us if we had been helped yet and after telling her we hadn't, she begrudgingly took our order. Â The service was close to horrible and we were happy to be done with our lunch and on our way.
Location: 3.5 stars
Located right on the boardwalk gave us a great opportunity to watch the freak show pass by. Â The outdoor seating is a bonus.
Ambiance: 3.0 stars
The decor on the inside is much different than you would expect. Â Evo is dressed up like a fancy restaurant but the clientele and food served match up more with a Denny's/IHOP style dining experience.
Price: 4.0 stars
Their lunch menu is pretty inexpensive for what you get, making the lower quality of the food somewhat acceptable. Â Expect to pay $10+ per person depending on how much you drink.
Overall: 2.5 stars
Evo is good if you want to sit outside and people watch on the boardwalk.  I would recommend it if you are hungry and passing by, but  it is definitely not a restaurant worth going out of your way to experience.
This place is good if you go for happy hour, $5 martinis which aren't the best in the world but are a great value for a decent drink.
The $20 3 course meal is a excellent value and the food is actually very good for the money. I spent $90/per person at another restaurant and I was more satisfied with this $20 meal and I was sitting outside too. So for the money and location, its great. Is it the best, not at all but its better than most of the place in the area. Mortons steak house is next door if you want some really great food but if you are looking to be laid back and sit out with a decent meal, try this place out. There are many inexperienced staff but for the price I look past that.
#39 During our weekend trip in Atlantic City, we made a decent run of the city. However, despite having drinks during cocktail hour and drinks at dinner, my boyfriend and I were craving just one last drink before we headed back to Philly. So, we dropped by the Trump Plaza where we stumbled upon Evo.
The atmosphere was pretty tame when we got there, seeing as how the dinner crowd had probably just wrapped up. We made a beeline for their bar and checked out their drinks menu. Out of all of their specialty cocktails, the Crazy Russian stood out the most. Seriously, how could Stoli Vodka, DeKuyper Sour Apple Pucker, DeKuyper Raspberry Liqueur, a splash of cranberry, Â AND Red Bull not be the perfect ingredients for an awesome drink? So, we each ordered one.
The bartender was super sweet and put the drinks together pretty quickly. They looked rather impressive actually and I'm disappointed we didn't take pictures of them. The concoction had an overall blue tint to it and it tasted so sweet and delicious. Don't get me wrong, they were strong, but the mixture of everything else in it masked how strong they really were. Because we were crunched for time though, we finished up our drinks and paid pretty quickly before heading back to the Amtrak station (again, I hate that I don't have a car out here).
All in all, I enjoyed my quick 20 minute experience here.
Came here for the $19.95 three course special they advertised all over the Trump Plaza. Â To keep this short, I recommend it highly, especially for the price. Â
I got the seafood bisque with shrimp, lobster, and scallops ($1 more) for my first course, which was amazing and had lots of flavor and actual pieces of seafood in it! Â My second course was the calamari which was pretty good, and it even came with shaved pieces of zucchini and onions, which accompanied it well. Â My third course was the prime steak with garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, and a red wine rosemary reduction. Â The steak was good, seared a little too much, but can't really complain for the price! Â The mashed potatoes were great, and the beans were nicely blanched. Â The sauce was good too, but nothing amazing. Â
My friend got the minestrone soup which wasn't anything special, simple and classic. Â Her second course was the garden salad which came with a raspberry vinagarette that was pretty good, I must say. Â Her third course was the filet mignon (for $5 more) and it was nicely cooked. Â Soft and full of flavor, it also came with mashed potatoes and beans and also came with a nice au jus. Â She ended her dinner with a creme brulee which she devoured in a few minutes by herself, but from what she tells me it was pretty good, haha.
Overally, I DEF recommend this place, great price, can't really go wrong there!, and the food and service was great as well! Â Don't be turned off if you see that no ones in there, because that's why I prolonged dining there but give this place a shot, if you're short cash and still want a fancy, filling and appetizing meal, then come here!
Much better experience than last year.
Went again for my 23rd birthday and was treated like royalty, even though they didn't know about the special occasion until the end of the meal.
Juan, our waiter, was awesome. When my mom dropped the hint that it was my birthday, he rounded up the waiters to sing and even gave me a nice sized slice of their awesome chocolate cake on the house!
I'll definitely be back!
Nasty !
After winning 4K in the TRUMP I felt like nothing could go wrong - until I ate here.
It looks nice but service sucked, food was cold, wine was 45% mark up and they would not allow me to open a bottle of DP that I brought in.
Manager came to table and since I am 32 it did not feel as if he cared. Â He gave up "A FREE DESERT" after all was said and I paid the $578.89 tab.
I wont be back here ever unless PHISH comes back to town.
HI All,
Ok... was up all night winning at blackjack. Â So i wanted to take my friends out to a nice early lunch. Â We walked up and down this section of the boardwalk and finally settled on Evo cause we wanted to eat outside in the sun and it appeared somewhat fancy. Â
Three of us all ordered the 3 course meal (19.99 and  29.99).  My friend ordered the Onion Soup (not au gratin) as course 1- it was the worst onion soup I have ever tasted- chicken based- i thought it was always beef based.  And it was oily and just flat out gross.  The other first courses were Caesar salads.  You would expect a restaurant right next door to Caesar's Palace could do a Caesar salad...NOT...  The cheese had no taste.  The romaine was fresh but the dressing was not home made...and even decent store-bought dressing was better than this.
The next courses were equivalently as bad except my dish. Â The Calamari had to be some of the best thus earning 1 star- cooked perfectly- not a bit overcooked- shocking, but i guess everyone gets lucky. Â My friends had other dishes- 1 was a undercooked beef appetizer which was average at best. Â The other...i couldn't even identify.. we returned it for a salad- equally as bad. Â that they did not eat cause it was horrible. Â
The main course- 1 friend had the blackened Tilapia - except the chef thought blackened was to drop it on the ground and rub it in dirt, cause it wasnt close to blackened and tasted like dirty rubber.  My other friend had the scallops...which is a good test to see the abilities of a chef...if these were blackened, they would have been excellent hockey pucks.  And then there was my dish- the surf and turf..to celebrate wining a few grand... the crab-cake was awful...two bites and no more.  I also got the Fillet Mignon  which was at best average. Â
So my meal was a C-, but the other two meals were D and F. Â
Based on 1 visit- dont go here at least during the early afternoon on weekend- poor quality food matched with an equivalent chef. Â
The service was nothing special either as we had to wait several times wondering where our waiter went.
This restaurant has been my worst rated restaurant on Yelp...so even though it was a one-timer...the better option is to place your money on black on hope the roulette wheel treats you better.

I don't often give 1 star reviews, but this place is going to get one.
The Seafood Bisque was goupy and flavorless.
The calamari had, perhaps, 4 pieces of calamari and then a plate full of fried crud. I'm not even sure what the fried stuff was but it wasn't calamari and it wasn't tasty.
The lamb had no flavor whatsoever. It did have one redeeming quality, it was cooked to the temperature that I asked for. Other than that, there wasn't anything positive to it. I LOVE lamb and while I wasn't nearly full I didn't bother to finish the dish.
BTW: They brought out the second course, perhaps, 5 minutes after the first one, while we were no where nearly done. The wine was forgotten about (no biggie, stuff happens). And the main course came out while the other two plates were still mostly full on the table.
I ate here for a friend's bachelorette party dinner this past Saturday. Â The food was nothing spectacular, but the service was great and the prices were reasonable.
They had no problems with our party of 20+. Â The table was ready when we arrived, and our servers were friendly, quick, and competent. Â We chose from two fixed price menus - each 3 course, one for $20 and one for $30. Â Most of us ordered from the $20 one which seemed to be the better deal, since the entrees were slightly better on the $30, but that was the only difference.
I had the tomato soup and field greens salad for my first two choices, both of which were tasty but not notable. Â I wolfed them both down in my hungry state. Â Then I had the tilapia with vegetables, mashed potatoes, and chive oil. Â Others agreed, the fish was flavorful and tender, though over-seasoned. Â I liked the flavor, but too salty and some bites were WHOA.
All in all, this restaurant was middle of the road. Â A good choice, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return.
4.5 stars.
This place is a great boardwalk find, not that it's particularly hidden.
It sounds like the prix fixe meal has been around for awhile, according to Corinne M's review. It definitely makes this place ideal.
This past weekend they were doing a $12.99 three course lunch prix fixe and a $24.99 four course dinner prix fixe. My boyfriend and I did the dinner prix fixe.
We walked by at about 6:00 and put in our names for 8:30. When we came back, the place was packed, but we were seated immediately at a table out doors.
The service was great. Our waiter was great, very nice and attentive.
The first course is either seafood bisque or soup of the day, which happened to be chicken and veggie. We got one of each. The chicken and veggie was nothing special, but the seafood bisque was quite good. Next came salad (either house or Caesar). We both got Caesar, which is hard to mess up :) For entrees, we had spaghetti and meatballs and penne a la vodka. My penne a la vodka was good, although nothing special. His spaghetti and meatballs, however, were unbelievable! Maybe some of the best meatballs I've ever tried. We were too stuffed for dessert, although there were 4 or 5 choices.
The food is great and large portions. Bread comes before the meal. There is good, inexpensive wine. Plus, it's near all the casinos. Definitely recommend this place!
We were looking for somewhere to eat on the boardwalk this past Saturday evening before we saw a show at Boardwalk Hall. Â We were not prepared at all for how crowded the Tropicana resort was and how impossible it would be to get a table anywhere. Â So we wandered down the boardwalk, thinking we might just grab something at a cheap foodstall or go back to where we had lunch. Â But then we spotted Evo. Â It looked cute, had a sprinkling of tables out on the boardwalk, and it smelled delicious. Â Cross that with two cranky, hungry girls and we have a winner, folks!
We settled in at the bar and had some delicious mojitos, including a to-die-for passionfruit mojito. Â The bartender was incredibly nice and it felt like no time before our table was ready. Â Lo and behold, we got a prime table out on the boardwalk, which made for some awesome people watching. Â All the food was outstanding, from the salads to the pasta to the creme brulee. Â Maybe it was the mojito's, but Christ Alive that was the best creme brulee I have ever tasted!
If I go back to Altantic City, which I have to admit is a HUGE if, I would defiinitely hit up this restaurant again.
