Love going to this place, usually go saturdays for lunch after work. The Tacos are outstanding, they bring em out plain and have a full salsa bar in the back so you can add whatever you like. Rest of the menu is good too. Very reasonably priced drinks, very friendly wait staff.
Only problem is the female bartender sometimes wont accept valid out of state ID. This happened to me shortly after moving to colorado. However the reason shes cautious is i guess she got busted for something of that nature. Brought my passport until i got my colorado one.
We had an hour to kill in this part of town, so I searched Yelp for a casual late lunch spot. Â We pulled in at 2:00 on a Monday and were greeted by a friendly bartender and about a dozen patrons ranging in age from 6 to 76. Â
I was disappointed to find that the "classic bar/grille food at excellent prices...made with fresh ingredients" I was expecting after reading their website has recently been replaced by "La Hacienda Traditional Mexican Food" (...sigh). Knowing that its pretty much impossible to mess up a cheeseburger, we ordered two of them (both with fries, please!) and two $2 pints of Bud. Â There was no "what kind of cheese would you like?" or "how do you want it cooked?", but there was great, friendly service with a smile. Â The burgers were previously frozen, the "cheese" wasn't really cheese and the iceberg lettuce was shredded, which made me giggle a little, but we were hungry, it tasted good and we ate it all. Â
This is a cool little place, the type of place that I love because its cheap (lunch for two, with drinks for $20), its simple (3 beers on tap: Bud, Bud Light and Shock Top) and it appreciates the regulars ($2 pints of Bud and Bud Light all day, er'day). Â I can picture it jumping on a Saturday night with live rock'n'roll and a packed dance floor, parking lot full of hotrods...but I'll never know. Â This is not my neck of the woods and not worth the drive, but it might become your new favorite neighborhood dive.
