Fatboy's Fairway Bistro

Clean, new décor at this municipal golf course restaurant.  Has the look and feel more of a restaurant than say, a diner.

Service here was great.  Servers constantly checking on us, making sure we are OK.  

Why two stars?  The food...  I ordered a combo plate with teri-hamburger steak and pork chops.  The hamburger steak was the worst I have ever had.  This buggah was tough--hard as rock!  Normally, I can break off a bite-size piece with my fork, but I had to use a knife for this hamburger steak!  Holy cow!  Needing a knife?!  Portions were small for the price I paid.

The mac salad was substandard.  The mayo had a curdling texture, lacking the smooth consistency of good mayo.  Also, just macaroni & mayo?  Plain...  add some vegetable shavings, pls!

This was my second visit here.  My first visit I was not impressed with the food.  I decided to try here again before writing my review.  Hmmm, two visits and two below-average experiences...

Of the munis that now have a restaurant, Ewa Villages Social Hour Inc has by far the best food.  Ala Wai is a solid second while Pali's Fatboy's clearly rounds out the rear...

Came here on several times with my family. Food wasn't bad and service was great. Had tried the pork chops, roast pork, and garlic chicken. Place get's pretty busy during the weekend with the golf course being at the same place. Plus they had a live band for entertainment.

I came here for lunch with some family friends about two weeks ago, and to be honest, I didn't even know there was a Fatboy's on the Windward side of the island much less one at the Pali Golf Course. From what I know, the restaurant, which is located next to the driving range and across from the golf shop in the clubhouse, has been open for about a year. Perhaps it was the time of day and day of the week that we decided to drop by -- we got there around 12:30 p.m. on a Monday -- but there didn't seem to be a lot of people dining at the restaurant, so it was a really nice atmosphere to sit down talk story. This probably also worked to our advantage as well, because the service was pretty quick and the workers were very nice! I give them credit for letting us just sit down and chat away for two hours. I ordered the garlic chicken, which tasted just like the ones served at the Fatboy's restaurant next to Waikele Costco. The portions seemed to be a little smaller than I remembered, but I think everyone was pretty satisfied by the time we left -- I know I was.
